I'm interviewing on Monday and I am so nervous! Currently doing what you did and am watching every single youtube video about how to answer the questions. Thank you for your help!!
Thank you for creating this video, it really helps me pass the interview 💐💐 Can you please advice me, what books I have to read to prepare me for the study?
Thank you for watching! Here are a few questions I would have asked if I had more time during my interview: 1) What percentage of graduates pass the NCLEX their first time taking it? This will give you a good idea of how well your program will prepare you for the NCLEX. 2) Does the school provide an externship opportunity? Not all programs provide an externship, but it's definitely a plus if they do! 3) What hospitals does the school have partnerships with for clinical? This will tell you where you'll be learning as a nursing student, and if they partner with a hospital you hope to work at in the future, even better!
Thank you so much for your video. It is very helpful to me because I am gonna have my nursing interview in couple weeks. I am so excited but also super nervous. I am just curious what question did you ask them at the end of your interview? Thank you.
Hi Stephanie! I'm so sorry I didn't get to your question sooner! We didn't have much time to get through all of my questions, but I was able to ask if students are still able to do clinical rotations in the hospitals (my interview was during the middle of COVID) and I asked what percentage of the school's graduates pass the NCLEX on their first try. Don't think too hard about the questions! Just ask them what you're genuinely curious about. Hope this helps and if you haven't had your interview yet, good luck!
Why is diversity in the health care field important? For this question, I decided to structure my answer around the importance of cultural competence in health care. I also shared a personal experience - the first time I witnessed how my own awareness of my patient's cultural background benefitted my patient as it pertained to their health. If you're not already familiar with culturally competent health care, I would definitely do a little research before your interview just in case they ask a similar question. But basically, studies have shown that culturally competent health care providers and systems can improve patient outcomes and the quality of care they receive, hence its importance in the field. How do you feel about mandatory vaccinations for nurses or other healthcare staff members? I wasn't asked this question, but I prepared for it by doing research on both arguments - arguments for and against mandatory vaccinations for healthcare workers. I would've shared my knowledge and understanding of both sides.
