2023 Community Leadership Award: Atrium Health Navicent

In 2016, Atrium Health Navicent created a new department called “Healthy Communities” to increase access to medical care and reduce disparities, resulting in increased health care equity. By harnessing the expertise of a diverse team, Healthy Communities aims to go beyond traditional clinical care by tackling the non-medical factors that influence health outcomes, or social determinants of health.
