Awesome! Up in Chicago, the snakes are coming out, Just found 3 Dekay's Browns and a Plains garter! We also don't have scarlet kings but I guess red milksnakes looks similar. just had a red milksnake down in Southern Illinois and like always great video and you are definetly my favorite channel.
Will one of the folks that dislike the video please explain why? I'm confused as to why you dislike the video? These young men are not harming the animals, or, the environment. Their producing good educational video's.
Very awesome video Noah!! I’m glad you got to see so many snakes including that scarlet!! I have never held a snake, but I would love to hold one of those little ones you were finding. They were definitely cute! 😄❤️🐬
The Lamporpeltis esloe.... scarlet king was beautiful. As well as all you saw on this hike. About the only wild great find I ever did and kept for 11 years was a Elephe suboculas aka the trans pecos rat snake caught it in the Davis mountians in central western Texas ita home range 1 year before the snake was protected. Retired now and disabled but still have a Ph"D in herpitologhy from the U of A Tucson. I'm a tumbleweed but never made it to northern Georgia. Caught several Lampropeltis Pryromalana in mexico and a green mexican rattlesnake and 2 beaded lizards for the U of A in 1977.
You should go to Snake Road in southern Illinois, the migration is amazing and I got to see quite a few cottonmouths when I went. The sad thing is it is a no touch/no hook place, but you'll see a lot just walking it.
Cool video. I have hiked quite abit in the North GA Mountains over the past ten years and have only seen one snake. It was a big rattle snake (not sure what kind) that was only 3 feet off the paved path that goes to the top of Brasstown Bald. It was very cold that morning and the snake was just laying out not moving. I would have walked right by it but another person gave my group the heads up about the snake being there. I
Kings get their name from eating other snakes, they're considered the "king" of snakes because of that. Queens get that name from the scientific part of their name 𝘙𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘢 which means "Queen", but not sure why the dudes who named it chose Regina. Milks get their common name from an old wive's tale that they'd drink milk from cow's udders in the barns.
This guy really got me excited to get back into herping. Then i remmebered im in the NT and if you do find a snake it is either a 3 meter python or a 2 meter Brown
My female 5 lined skinks have come out of hibernation. My male passed away last year. He could have been old because I had him for 7 years. I wanna get a replacement male but the weather got cold again where I live. I keep my skinks in a large outdoor setup because they're native to my area. I like the blue tails the babies have.
No luck in herping any snakes in West Virginia so far this year. We still are having a few cold spells on and off. Hoping to start tuning up some snakes as the weather starts to warm up.
Finding snakes is fun and cool, but what about the old coin that was laying their you missed. At least it looked like one to me. May have been worth some bucks. love your videos by the way
Hey man, loving your channel! I live in Cherokee county, and am interested in herping. Do you know of any good places for an inexperienced person to check out? (Just to look, I don’t know enough to confidently handle anything)
Hey NFK you have probably heard of him but the guy from southeastern reptile rescue have a website called snakes are us and he has snakes listed by county the county where he is based at has some streams that flow from the flint River just 45 mins south of Atlanta
Ugh! I wish I had your luck finding snakes, I'm trying to find Rough Green Snakes and Ribbon Snakes from the outer edges of my yard into my garden to eat bugs and I just can't find any snakes :(
So what venomous snakes do we have in north america? Specifically southern utah cuz I've always wanted to go herping but I'm scared that I'm gonna accidentally pick up a venomous snake.
Hey man ! Been watching your vids for a while ! If your ever in white county GA and need a place to stay/camp or good places to go hit me up ! I live in Sautee Nacoochee. Awesome vid !
I love to watch you finding and catching snakes! But I am petrified of them and wouldn't be able to watch in person! But I don't want anything bad to happen to them! I like all of God's creatures!!!
Most herpers don't collect and many don't even have the urge to either. They like coming back to spots and seeing snakes again, sometimes even the same ones as before or decendants of past finds.
Jimmy Swanson The Herpers Code. My problem is I rarely find anything when I look for snakes. When I was a kid I’d occasionally catch snakes at the creek and keep them for a couple weeks then bring them back. Probably better to just admire them in the wild and leave them be. Especially when you find as many as this guy.
Subscriber and enjoy your videos. Cool stuff. We found a scarlet king snake last weekend in Central Fl that I would like to send a picture of to you. What is your email? Also, a water snake and a glass snake or legless lizard that need ID. They are from the north end of the Everglades (west Broward County). Thanks
Hey bro what's going on I am also a snake lover who lives in Georgia would love to be able to talk to you about a few things if you could hit me back let me know where I can get in touch with you if you're willing to talk thanks
I've been watching your videos for awhile now and it always puts a smile on my face how excited you get when you find a king snake.

I applaud the fact that despite your feelings you didn't remove the leech. You've got good conservation sense.
Killin it as always!!
not literally tho lol 😂
I used to breed Lampropeltis Zonata as well as Thamnophis sirtalis tetrataenia and release the babies into the wild. Giving back!
Damn Son, you crushed it! Thanks Noah
Loved seeing all the snakes today. But I really loved the scorpion

What's the deal with the common names, Kings, Queens and Milk snakes? Great video as always man. 💥

@@smetlogik cheers mate! The king totally makes sense wasn’t sure about the others. Appreciate the insight. 🤙
@@TyronePingHerpingSouthAfrica Sure thing.
In Australia you only really find 5 snakes max but most of our snakes grow to 2 metres

In tassie it’s just tigers crimsons and white lips
West of gold coast it’s to many to count

How do you get everything to pose so nicely
Not a fan of snakes just one of YT random recommendations. But my son will enjoy this we are moving to GA so he'll be out searching.
Metal n Herps Rule 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I live in north Georgia. Ive never seen a scorpion here. Can you tell me what county you were in for this video please?

I enjoy you vlogs. Keep it up. Please give information so I can ID verps in Delaware. Ty
The Scarlet Kingsnake at first I thought it was a milk snake
I always learned “red & black friend of jack. Red & yellow kill a fellow”
Accurate? 🧐
Yes
That's a leech? I've seen those in Florida, and I thought they were some kind of slug.
Day 2, 1 Ringneck Snake, 1 Scarlet king Snake, 2 Scorpions, 1 Thickworm Snake, 5 Smooth Earth Snakes, 3 Southeastern Crown Snakes, 1 Eastern King Snake, 1 Queen Snake, 1 Black Racer, 3 Worm Snakes .
Ugh! I wish I had your luck finding snakes, I'm trying to find Rough Green Snakes and Ribbon Snakes from the outer edges of my yard into my garden to eat bugs and I just can't find any snakes :(
What does it mean when you say “NC2” or something like that. I hear it in a lot of videos.
He's saying "in situ".
Do you know what species of scorpion are those?
So what venomous snakes do we have in north america? Specifically southern utah cuz I've always wanted to go herping but I'm scared that I'm gonna accidentally pick up a venomous snake.
I think they have several different species of Rattlesnakes in Utah.
I used to live in California and they had a lot of rattlesnakes.
@@shannonlong6640 ok thank you so much 😁

Day 1 Yellow Bellied Slider, 1 Eastern Ribbon Snake, 1 Plain Water Snake
I'm in April and it snowed yesterday
I'm still waiting for the rattlesnakes to start showing themselves where I live
If my mom won't buy me a snake guess ima have to look for one myself
What is NC2?
He went right by a 2nd ribbon snake
Are you ever tempted to take any snakes home and keep them? If I found a baby Eastern King I'd want to keep him.
Geez, just leave them be where you find them.
Most herpers don't collect and many don't even have the urge to either. They like coming back to spots and seeing snakes again, sometimes even the same ones as before or decendants of past finds.

He keeps saying nc2!
Kinda efd up you didn't help that turtle...
Id help pull a leach off you
Try to find a rattlesnake 🐍
Why do you keep saying nc2?
It's "in situ" which means as found/ undisturbed. In this case "as flipped" before touching the snakes.
