Now that's straight 40 mins watching😂. I must say, it's been a while since I got hook watching a whole 40 minutes woodworking video. This is why we love woodworking. The tooooooolllls, the challenge, the humor and creativity are impeccable. "He who works with his hands is a laborer. He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist." ~ Saint Francis of Assisi
I really appreciate that you're still trying to learn and grow as a woodworker, even as you teach us. Also, I'm a little bit surprised that the brass didn't scratch just from saying (or even thinking) the word "point".
Never heard of that kind of surgery for any animal. So glad she is doing so well. She is very lucky to have you. Both of them are. With that said, love all your work. Just amazing !!!
Nice! You are one of the last woodworker RUclipsrs that still make woodworking videos. Most now attempt to show how they're renovating the large new homes and/or second homes purchased with RUclips fame money. Kudos!
Wow Keith! This is fantastic! I am blown away buy how good it came out. At first I thought it was a Pedulla project! I look forward to your next build!
Keith, I have watched your channel for years now. This is the best project that you have ever done. Also, the French cleat joke was very funny. I have learned a lot from you especially about design and am grateful for your content.
Thanks so much Brian! This definitely is at the top of my list as well. Would love to do something similar again, but with a different design aesthetic.
Great video, first one of yours I’ve watched. Appreciate the detail and time you’ve invested in making it. Love the thought of getting to this level one day myself! Keep up the good work, Keith.
Keith, your creative process is fantastic~! I've been woodworking for a very long time and I hope to gain a fraction of your creativity by the time my time is up. Love the brass accents in the tenons and the bent lamination work. Now I'm even more stoked to push myself to get my newly acquired Shaper Origin working for me~! Love this thing. Thanks much for your continued inspiration~!
Thanks Andrew! So glad you enjoyed the build. I’ve seen some people do some amazing joinery, etc. with the Shaper Origin and I’d like to incorporate it more into my work in the future as well.
This is amazing. The technique, the details and the end product. This is art! I honestly think that your work, the pieces you produce, it's the pinnacle of woodworking.
@KeithJohnsonCustomWoodworking A bit maybe, but what you produce is.. Honestly this left me speechless. I follow a lot of woodworkers, and all designs are good but you don't create furniture you create art. I mean, I m from India and in my hometown woodworking is a huge thing. And with walnut. But it's all the same pieces. I consider myself lucky to see this. Thank you. Really.
Found this video so very interesting so much so I have saved it to watch again! The tools are super amazing and sadly as far as I can see some of them shall remain only in my wish list. Thank you for sharing. Rob (UK Subscriber).
Wow, your skill with walnut and those intricate bends is just mind-blowing! The custom brass, burl veneer, and the way you've integrated LED lighting with such delicate joinery - it's all genius. Using AI as a starting point for this masterpiece is next-level creativity. An amazing piece for sure
Now, that's a work of art, Keith! Really well done!!! 😯 Best wishes for Lola! I hope she has a full recovery! Merry Christmas! Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
I really like this overall design and I love the walnut burl veneer! IMO, the brass looks very nice, particularly with the accents complimenting the mirror. I also like the LED lighting. Nice piece!
I don’t normally comment on videos… but that was flipping awesome to watch! Great content, beautiful design, and some cats sprinkled in for good measure. This veterinarian approves. Excellent work! That is all.
Really neat and I enjoyed the techniques for all the curved work as I want to do more curves in my pieces. I have to say I was very impressed with the calipers connecting to the original and giving the fit shown at 37:15. Now I’m very interested in one!
I’ve been an artist for a long time and just picked up wood working two months ago. I’m inspired by your process but a little intimidated by the cost of all the fancy gear. Started filming my second project yesterday. I’ll get it edited and posted before too long. Hopefully I can achieve some sweet sponsorship money one day and have half of what you have. L Kudos to you. Great build man.
I’ve watched a large percentage of your projects and I feel like I could produce a similar quality build if I really set my mind to it. For the first time, I feel completely out of your league. I have all the same tools, plus more, so it’s not a matter of missing equipment. Your creativity in engineering unique ways to make all of the intricate high precision joinery blew me away. The execution was flawless. I had incredible respect for your talent already, but this takes it up many notches. Have a great holiday season and I can’t wait to see what you show us in 2025.
Thanks man! This is the first comment I've ever gotten about tools vs. skills where someone didn't say "yeah, I could do that if I had those tools." It's quite refreshing! LOL. But seriously, thanks for the kind words 👊🏻
Lovely design! AI CAN be your friend. And as someone learning my way on my new Shaper Origin, it was great to see the clever ways you used this amazing tool. I hope to see more of your solutions to interesting design problems. Thanks, KJ.
Insane!! I’ve been putting off building my first Krenov style cabinet due to the fear of not being able to pull it off. After watching this and all of Nick Pedulla’s builds, I now know I just have to quit woodworking all together. Very inspirational Keith…even though my brain hurts now 👍🏼
When I watch Nick Pedulla work, I want to quit as well. LOL. But hey, we are all at different levels and as long as we continue to improve with each build, we'll be just fine 🤙🏻😎
Christmas came early a Keith Johnson video! Loved it. Very challenging to thing of each step and process to somewhat recreate an ai generated shelf ❤❤❤
Thanks so much! It was definitely a test of critical thinking to start from an image to a function piece of furniture. So glad you enjoyed the process!
I’ve always loved your work, I used to be able to do wood work. I’ve gotten old and my disability has pretty much shut me down. I did it for a few years after I was disabled. But now, it’s more time down then up .
I don't care, where the inspiration and first iterations of the design came from. The cabinet, as shown in the video, is a stunning peace of craftmanship. And that is, what counts for me. Keep on challenging yourself and have fun doing so. Greetings from Germany.
You are a true artist...period! Amazing work once again. And I really enjoyed the mix up of music. Each song correlated with the piece you were working on. Very well thought out.
I love that you show enough detail to show how complicated it can be to make fine furniture! Getting a snapshot from AI is just step 1 of 10,000 - there’s so much more to execute to bring any design to life. Beautiful work!!
This is amazing. Only thing I would have liked better is more still shots of it at the end of the video to look at the finished product more. Awesome job man.
All the EN Curtis copycat sequences were hilarious, especially the router table montage early on. I thought the music got messed up and a different video started playing at first. Good stuff.
Phenomenal Keith. Really enjoyed this one and enjoyed the creativity with the Shaper. Always interesting to see how other people fit it into their projects.

Keith, you are the master artist, designer and woodworker... Stunning work! Based on ur coffee mug and the music you're also spending too much time with Erik 😂
Absolutely stunning. You've combined 2 of my favourite materials --- walnut & brass, and added in burl walnut into the mix to ame it that extra special. I personally see no problem with AI inspiration. Your comments about attribution to source & AI for inspoiration are spot on. I guess there shall always be some who disagree, but AI is here to stay & to expand.
This is an amazing piece of craftsmanship. I think I need to watch it again because I'm sure I'll pick up things I missed on the first go around. With respect to the AI "inspired" design. I think you picked the high road by disclosing that you used it and providing your inputs goes above and beyond. I hope Origin is showing you some love given how much you used it to make the impossible, possible.
Awesome. Wish the gorgeous finished b roll was longer. Came out so nice. This piece probably required over $10k in equipment, tools, and products to create. Now this is HIGH END.
Thanks Nick! I had a hard time photographing this piece which is whey there aren't as many beauty shots as I would have liked either. Sorry about that!
I know I'm a nerd, but I really wanted to draw the circle in the middle of your triangle orientation mark to create the Deathly Hallows. Super elaborate build and beautiful execution. I'm happy to see someone working with burl on RUclips and all the detail you've added is truly insane. Very well done.
@@KeithJohnsonCustomWoodworking Well, color me even more impressed. Thank you for responding to my comment. I can't tell you how many comments have gone unanswered from bigger RUclipsrs. I appreciate it. Good luck on the next crazy build.
Absolutely amazing work, as always! But you know that. I did want to reach out to you; however, and say I’m so sorry Lola had to go through that (and you as well being her human and all). I wish her the speediest recovery ❤️🩹 and a long happy life now that it’s over. 😢
It’s the BEST time to buy Shaper Origin: www.shapertools.com/en-us/
Not gonna lie, when I saw the thumbnail, I thought it was a Pedulla Studio video xD
Same. Highest of compliment
I happily accept that incredibly high praise! 🙏
Exactly my thought. Turned out awesome
Me too 😅
as high praise as it gets!

Thanks so much for watching, Jack! And thank you for sharing that quote. I love it!
I am also shamelessly stealing that quote.
Keith “KJ” Johnson, King of the Walnut, First of His Name.
😂 I'll take it!
I really appreciate that you're still trying to learn and grow as a woodworker, even as you teach us. Also, I'm a little bit surprised that the brass didn't scratch just from saying (or even thinking) the word "point".
😂 Seriously. I've never worked with a material that cleans up so beautifully, but gets damaged so quickly. 😤😂
Never heard of that kind of surgery for any animal. So glad she is doing so well. She is very lucky to have you. Both of them are. With that said, love all your work. Just amazing !!!
Thank you so much! Yes, it's very rare that type of surgery needs to be done, so we are beyond grateful at her amazing recovery. 😻
Nice! You are one of the last woodworker RUclipsrs that still make woodworking videos. Most now attempt to show how they're renovating the large new homes and/or second homes purchased with RUclips fame money. Kudos!
Wow, thanks! And there are certainly no plans on changing my format - more builds to come!
I've thought the same. I have at least 3 of those RUclipsrs in mind.
@@SkippyRoI’m curious as to who? Matt Cremona? Samurai? DiResta? Ok there’s more than I thought lol

Keith's back with another banger. It got the curves, the brass inlays, the walnut - oh boy!
