- When you name sandwich the Midnight Feast like 1941’s 500 Tasty Sandwiches did, you had better bring it. I mean, it’s got feast in the name. Well, turns out not only was this sandwich a double decker, it did have interesting flavors going on. Personally, I thought the third slice of bread was a bit much but what do I know?

Plus flipping the tomato inside the bread. Sounds like a fun twist to a club sandwich. Kipper snacks are pretty good, but boy can some of them be smoky.

Pepper plant makes a lot of great sauces, but they can be hard to come by once you are more than 150 miles from Gilroy... their garlic hot sauce is a big go to. But yeah, today's plus up I want to get asap to add

I can’t, for the life of me, understand the reasoning behind putting the tomato on the outside, but maybe they were just into that in 1941.

If you did make it again you could keep the three slices but just use thinner bread. But never mind that, I was astonished that you didn’t, as part of the plus up, move the tomato INSIDE the sandwich! 🤯

They're delicious - all I've had are the canned ones but my goal is to have the authentic smokehouse kind. Alas, there's no deli or market around here that would even know what they are.

I'd put all of that between two slices of buttery bread, betcha that would be one groovy sammich.
I thing important thing to note: While most kipper herrings available in USA are already cooked and available in jars or cans, the actual whole British kipper is cold-smoked, meaning that it should be cooked in some way before eating.

This is the most Dagwood of sandwiches on this channel to date I think.
I feel like it should be remixed as a proper fish salad (like tuna) mix the eggs mayo and kippers together throw on bread with the cheese and tomato. Hell even give it the tuna melt treatment.
It appears to be just a variation on a club sandwich. love kippers but I hate egg salad, so I'd substitute it with tuna salad or even potato salad.

This sandwich looks amazing, except I'd replace the cheese with sometime more substantial and pickles or pickled jalapenos instead of tomato.
