In second grade, my teacher used that acronym to represent the five states Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, and Louisiana; to her, those five states put together also looked like a person. When Zackabier started to mention Arkansas, and especially when he spelled out those five states, I was very nostalgia-happy.
Georgia's is pretty accurate considering that it is home to one of the largest airports in the world.

When studying historical geology, and learning about the plate configurations of the ancient continents our teacher would go through and try to find pictures in the landmasses just like you have to help us remember what time period it was! Maybe you should go through the tectonic history and try that one!

My home state, NC, is a fossil tooth. Fitting since you can find them all over the place, especially the Cape Fear River. Might have something to do with the area being covered in an ocean at one time.

The five states looking like a chef was something our teachers told us about back when we were in elementary school. I commented that, in that case, Tennessee and both North and South Carolina form some kind of futuristic gun pointed at his crotch.
I got in a shitload of trouble for that one, though this being in the mid-90's, probably more for the "crotch" bit than the "gun" bit.
If you turn Tennessee into a frying pan, and Kentucky into a piece of chicken, you can complete the chef you made, and get some Kentucky Fried Chicken!
