    He once said, well they all willingly got in the car. Another of his lies. He bullied this one with the authority of an officer, others just 'helped him' with his ruses of casts and canes and he stuffed them in the car. She was so lucky, thank God.

    • @Romulan2469
      @Romulan2469 2 года назад +26

      Yes she was very lucky, and also because she was a fighter. She was physically strong enough to fight him off and had the courage to trust her gut instinct in knowing that something wasn't right so she was sort of prepared and that helps in fight or flight situations. If you recall, she mentioned smelling alcohol on his breath as he was driving and before he stopped the car and tried to put the handcuffs on her. Bundy threw all these rouses away in Florida as he became more enraged and too impulsive to plan any of his attacks. Carol is a hero.

      I'm a forensic psychologist in my day job. It's actually surprisingly common for people to trust 'authority', and override their own best instincts. Trust in authority can cause many people to 'rationalise' suspicious elements of a situation.
      There have been many studies that have shown how some people can even lose their morals, if they believe they are obeying 'authority'. And real life events have demonstrated that, also. There's a notorious case, where a hoax caller convinced restaurant owners he was a cop. And he ended up persuading the mangeress (who was otherwise law-abiding) to strip search an employee. He claimed the employee had stolen something, and he (the 'cop') couldn't get there quickly. So the managers were persuaded to 'arrest' the employee, and strip-search her.
      Especially in the Carol Roach case, she was a teenager. The younger the person, the more likely they are to follow 'instructions' in this way. To her, it sounded plausible enough (she needed to file a report for procedural reasons, and the car was undercover - so civilian in appearance).

Also there are too many inaccuracies or things they have added in for dramatic effect which is annoying. The moment he approaches you, you have the physical characteristics he is looking for, but they are "random" encounters. In the second step in which he tells you to check inside the car, he evaluates your vulnerability, that is, he feels how you act and react, he observes you. The aggressiveness with which the girl reacted, in response to the development of the fright, taken at first, was not calculated by him and for a moment stunned him, if the car at that precise moment could not reach the explosion Bundy's anger would have exploded, hitting the girl until she fainted, he would have loaded her into the car and taken her to the usual place, most likely previously studied... and there it would have been the end of life for this victim. Kind regards to all

    The movies these days SUCK! Movies made during the past decade or two have sucked. This is horrible. I still think, "The Deliberate Stranger" is the best. Yet, there are lots of things missing about what Ted Bundy did to his victims AFTER he killed them. I'm talking days after he killed them.
