So...how many items did you find to put "on probation"? 👋🏻😍 I have four sweaters, plus the clothes I tried this weekend (which are now in the washing basket, then heading to our next Swap). Woo hoo! Remember our pact - I am here with 3 videos each week (guided decluttering, guided cleaning, our Thrive plan for the the week) and you comment on every video you watch. Let's declutter - TOGETHER!
🎉 Simplify!! I put away seasonal clothes and paired down. Donated some, trashed a couple. I’ll have to check out the Dressing Your Truth you mention. Thank you!
I am definitely putting things on probation. I have gained some weight due to a medication I’m on. So, rather than beat myself up I will get what I need for a minimal wardrobe 🙂🥰
I’m a little under the weather both figuratively and literally. Here in the southern United States we still have some snow and ice. I am keeping on track with my daily routines. Lisa Anne Dupree 🙂🌻🦋❄️
I've lost 25kg recently through complete lifestyle change (woo-hoo, go me!🎉😂) So, I really enjoy decluttering my wardrobe and seeing my old stuff go away and new stuff arrive (mostly from swap parties and thrift stores, but I also enjoy sewing my clothes, dresses especially) I decluttered my blouses working with you, Diane. Sorting clothes out has never been more fun. Thanks a lot for your energy and inspiration!
I decluttered 10 items from my summer wardrobe that I just don't feel good wearing anymore and I have put 10 items on probation. At the end of the season I'll take inventory on them too I think. Never ever imagined that I'd still have to declutter my fairly minimal wardrobe but I've changed and grown in my personality in a year and even still at my age I'm going through a refinement process which is surprising! I think it's much easier as you get older as we really begin to know who we are when we've switched off from the world's voices trying to tell us and now we're free as women to just concentrate upon ourselves so our focus thus becomes us and not being impressed upon by the thousands of voices and images around us all the time bombarding and demanding upon us!!! 🥳🥳🥳🙌💪 How fantastically liberating! Thanks for the company which I reassessed my wardrobe Diane!!! 💗
I love decluttering alongside you Diane- you are always so grateful and positive, it doesn’t seem like you are loosing anything but gaining freedom and space. I’m really enjoying your new year schedule! ❤
I love the way you define items for “probation”. They are not being put aside to see if you miss them. By wearing them soon, I can make that decision and move on!
I've been making sure to write a comment and hit the thumbs up button every single time I watch your videos. Today, I am watching this while doing a walk on the treadmill. This is going to motivate me to declutter when I clean my bedroom this weekend.
I hardly own any clothes in comparison. I do wish I had your white sweater with the blue hearts ❤. I am retired and mostly dress at home in my “uniform” - plain T shirt and black yoga pants. I did declutter a pair of warm hiking boots today that I only wore once and didn’t find them comfortable, so I dropped them today at a local homeless shelter that was asking urgently for boots. So pleased I found a good home for them. Love your videos Diane!
I have clothes I haven’t worn in 22 years! Don’t even fit me!! Haven’t been able to let them go, holding memories of a different time. But today, it’s time to let them go, they are doing nothing but holding me back, and creating Chaos!! I got rid of 10 clothing items today, which made room in my drawers, which allowed space for my mound of clothing from my chair, which has been keeping my bedroom looking dirty! Thank you! ❤
I didn't declutter along with you, but you've definitely got me thinking of some clothes I don't wear and don't feel good in - time to let them go! Thank you for the inspiration
Settled in with my cup of coffee, started watching youtube, saw your video popup, quick pause to jump up and finish my morning routine (just had “empty dishwasher” left), and then settled back down to drink my coffee and continue. You have me trained :)
I went through all my clothes this week. Altogether 53 pieces went to donation or trash. I have owned most of those things 10-20 years and they have been waiting for the moment I start using them again. Now I realized they really do not serve any more and let them go. There was no need for probation since my size has changed and so has my style. Thank you, Diane. Your guidance was once again very helpful.❤
I had just come in from shopping when I turned you on for 'company'. Instead of wardrobe declutter, I put away my groceries and cleared off our "Hotspot" on the island. I DO need to sort my wardrobe again, but I did go through about a month ago and let some things go. It's in pretty good shape for now - until my shape changes again!
Thanks for giving me the idea of folding my jumpers into the long plastic boxes what a difference it has made to the shelves in my wardrobe. Love your chats x
Your clothes declutter videos are total favorites of mine! They've helped me evaluate what I like or don't like in the clothes I wear and have helped me no longer keep things just because I can.
i have gotten rid of three things today. before Diane, i would have beaten myself up for not doing a REAL decluttering job. now i need to realize that something is better than nothing. Rah, rah, rah!
Hi Diane, Actually my husband is decluttering his side of the closet right now. He lost a lot of weight the last year and we bring the clothes to the salvation army. Thank you for the video
Love the "clothes on probation" idea, Diane! I got a lot done today in the bedroom. Feeling motivated and thankful we can do this together as a community. Take care, Diane -- and thank you!
I started to put 2 things on probation & caught myself…. I’m already ready to release these to their future life! So into the giveaway bag, with the others, they go. Great feeling. Looking forward to doing more tomorrow.😊 Thanks for cheering us on!
I maintain my stance that the blues and light aqua green look wonderful on you. I don't particularly like the red, it's ok. Pinks and white are great as well. No probation for me. If something bugs me when I wear it it goes. Great vid!
What a great idea. Instead of putting things to the side that we’re not sure about, put them on this week and make the decision straight away. Love it!
I used to wear turtlenecks. Now I can’t stand them around my neck but was holding on to them incase it was really cold. Time to say goodbye. Watching you gives me a desire to declutter. Thanks . Woo hoo 🎉
I declutter but find it hard because I like a lot of my clothes even though I might not wear them often. I don’t have enough friends to form a swap shop so give a lot of my clothes to charity shops. I like the idea of timing the sessions but being retired find once I start it takes me a bit longer than ten minutes 😮. Thank you for your enthusiasm, it’s very motivating.
Really like the idea of a clothes swap and putting clothes on probation. Also, setting that timer keeps me going! Thank you for another good video Diane!
I barely had the 10 minutes to spare today, but whipped through 4 drawers and culled 2 tops for donation, put one sweater on probation, and pulled several items that had no business being there. I hope to repeat the exercise tomorrow to go through the rest of my drawers and lighten the load, then re-organize. I feel as though I’m off to a great start and it’s going to happen! Thanks, Diane!
Thanks Diane, I watched yesterday and listened today as I worked along with you. The result, one scarf and jeans on probation, 6 items in the donation bag and a discovery of a black dress I bought before Christmas and had forgotten about . ❤
This week I am working in Zone 4 (bedroom) this week. Yesterday I sorted through clothes in my closet. Today I sorted through shoes that I no longer want to keep - some to throw away and some to donate. Thank you for your inspiration.
Absolutely NONE on probation! Went through all winter and summer clothes, with both wardrobes (one work, one leisure) including shoes/boots. What a transformation. Thanks Diane!
I truly like your idea of “putting on probation” in the forcing yourself to wear the clothing we are not sure of. Yes, that really does have ourselves make a clear decision of keep or let go. It’s brilliant! 🌞
I just emptied an entire rack in the closet last Friday, also decluttered more books and toys that my son was ready to let go! My car trunk is full again, I'm headed to the thrift store this week to donate! woohoo 🎉🎉
I love how easy it's for you to decide what to declutter and what to keep, and how happy you sound when you declutter an item. You are my hero! 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
You really got me going. I declutterred my husbands clothes, together with him, and then mine. I still need to go through my accessories; but what a relief! Seven shirts, two sweaters and a pair of pants on probation for me Thank you
I like doing this too. If I haven’t worn it, I make myself wear it one day. And like you said, if it doesn’t feel good…gone it goes! Should feel good in everything you wear
My clothes declutter was for things that no longer fit, as I’ve lost some weight over the past six months. That felt great! Many Thanks for the inspiration and the cheerleading ❤️
I always feel that if it isn't a definite "yes!", then its a no and that is reflected in the fact that I rarely keep things I've put on probation. But probation does help you make decisions! Even if people tell you they like the sweater, if YOU don't like it you won't wear it.
I’m a type 1 also, but find it hard to part with clothes. I have decided that I need more pink & red as those are the colors that look good on me & make me happiest.
Well, I didn’t think I would end up on RUclips while on vacation in Peru, but my husband is working from here (remotely) so I took some time to check in. And boy am I glad I did. You have inspired me to hit my closet once we’re back home. ~Lynel From MN *in Peru currently 😂
Hi Diane Okay I've watched you enough that I picked all the same probation items you did. Especially the big orange sweater. I agree orange isn't for us all. I think I never particularly looked good in orange, never green although I love green in my home. I love the outdoors. The yellow sweater with the little balls on the puffy sleeves was another item I was saying no don't keep. I have a really hard time with my wardrobe. I like structured clothes. I love prints, but then a day comes along and I want to get rid of them all. I feel my best in navey anything, I have kept some black for certain occasions that call for black. I've learned a lot.I had fun choosing your items today. Felt a bit like a game show. Ta fir now
I try and have a one in one out rule, so don't have too much that I don't wear.....however do have a few items on probation, it's made me realise I don't like 3/4 length sleeves, so won't be buying anymore going forward. And a few that had cooking stains have been binned and an apron purchased. Thanks for your encouragement as always x
Thank you for the words “on probation”. That made a big difference for me. Also, I like watching you 3 days per week. Keeps me on track. Thank you, thank you!!!
I'm a type 2 / 4. No probations. out with a pink fluffy flouncy jumper that was bought for me pre- Covid, never worn it; a mottled black/white/grey rollneck that I do like but is difficult to get on and off; a pair of raspberry and white striped trousers that are very faded, will cut up and patchwork with them; and two pairs of shoes that the heels are now too high for me.
I did a major cleaning and got rid of 12 items yesterday- from a group of clothes I’d already culled multiples times. I let go of some colors that didn’t serve me, but I thought I loved them…. and the immense relief I felt when they went into the donation bag was incredible! I got rid of an entire storage bin!!
Hi Diane! 🙂 Today I did not declutter my wardrobe. I scheduled this for another day this week. But while I was folding laundry in our laundry room, I noticed a random pile of laundry and I couldn't remember what it all was. Tackled this stack after the folding work. I was able to throw away some items and some clothes and handkerchiefs needed freshening up and disappeared into the laundry basket. And I put a shirt and a scarf in the donation box. Once again I was able to create a little more space. Whoohoo! 😄 Thank you for your tips and I will definitely take them with me when I delve into my wardrobe. Have a good week! 😃 Live long and prosper. 🖖
WooHoo! RA! RA! RA! It's 6:30am and I've been up 3 hours, so I decluttered a few items from my closet while watching your video. No items on probation, but a couple of sweaters are being recycled into a craft to gift to a friend.
Thank you for the inspiring closet declutter video! It’s definitely an ongoing process :) Yesterday I went for a walk down a street I hadn’t been all the way down before. Very enjoyable to discover the park and outdoor swimming pool.
Running a bit behind this week due to a migraine however... this new format is the absolute best. I've done 2 wardrobes and now have a pile of empty hangers at LEAST 50. Some old sentimental dresses on probation... to see if I can part with them as they were my dearly departed mums but mainly lots of old junk... oh and a male pair of trousers.... I've been single for 3 years. They're too big for my son and I didn't bring any male clothing with me when I moved almost 3 years ago... I have had builders in for almost 3 months but aside from putting me in a new bedroom window I don't think they were in my wardrobe. Literally never seen them in my life and they're NEW! Very weird! 😮😂
How you put clothes on probation (forcing yourself to wear it instead of just keeping it in your closet waiting to see if you do) is genius! Can't wait to do that myself.
Oooh if I could just fly to Copenhagen to the swap party and pick up that green sweater, so beautiful! You're so good at letting go and making it look easy! I like how it is one box at a time or in manageable amounts instead of throwing everything in the closet on the bed all at once, that's too overwhelming at least for me.
I got rid of 25 things in my closet that I have not worn in years, but I was keeping because they were "nice". You are right- we should only been wearing (and keeping) things that make us feel good!
10 minutes decluttering my shoes and some clothes. A couple of days late but because we had made a pact to comment it was hanging over my head that I hadn’t done anything. This new format that you’ve introduced Diane is definitely making me more accountable. Thanks so much 😘 Now, off to do some cleaning in the bedroom 😊
Clothes aren't a clutter item for me, but I do really love the probation idea to force you to figure out if things need to go. And seeing your colour palettes made me realise that I really should work out the colours that suit me now instead of what I remember from being much younger.
For my part I am in zone 1 so entrance to the dining room. I did some paper decluttering. I sorted, classified and recycled. Another productive 10 minutes. Thank you Diane for your motivation!
Hi Diane, I love your new RUclips format for the new year. Short, enjoyable, practical. Anything above 15 min will loose my attention. I’m decluttering my office this week. It has become a catch all space and demotivates me to do my work:-( Thanks for all your support!!
I went through some books and boxed them up, and I will add two things from the kitchen that I haven't used in years and are just taking up space. Thanks for the inspiration. I love the idea of just having a bin at the bottom of your closet for things you know you do not want to keep carrying forward.
That orange jumper does wash you out and the white one with big polka dots is a bit clownfish. So, good decisions! Living in tropical North Queensland, I have 3 jumpers 😂 We’re preparing for a tropical cyclone to hit in a couple of days and it’s very hot. Thanks for the cozy video, Diane 😍
I have my wardrobe down to a science so I didn't need to declutter anything, but I worked in my bedroom, organizing other things in my closet, vacuuming the headboard and bedspread, polishing the furniture and dusting the ceiling fan. Got a lot accomplished!
Took a hard look at my wardrobe and in the process inspired my hubby to do the same. We've both lost some weight, so there was a lot that just didn't fit anymore. We ended up taking 3 bagfuls to donate to the charity shop!
So...how many items did you find to put "on probation"? 👋🏻😍 I have four sweaters, plus the clothes I tried this weekend (which are now in the washing basket, then heading to our next Swap). Woo hoo! Zero. It either goes or stays.

Loved the probation idea! Have about 7 items I'll try again.
I’m a little under the weather both figuratively and literally. Here in the southern United States we still have some snow and ice.
I am keeping on track with my daily routines.

Good on ya! Very inspiring.
@@loveandlight5649 Thanks))
Just emptied my closet of everything. Building a whole new system--donating a ton and found things I forgot that I owned!
Wow, that is a big project, Lissy - good luck and remember to take breaks!
That’s so inspiring 🎉

I love that perspective!❤
I love the way you define items for “probation”. They are not being put aside to see if you miss them. By wearing them soon, I can make that decision and move on!
I didn't have much time this week, but put a shirt that was on probation into my donate box while watching this ❤
Getting started is the hardest part! Dusted, organized & decluttered a small cabinet.🎉❤
I've been making sure to write a comment and hit the thumbs up button every single time I watch your videos. Today, I am watching this while doing a walk on the treadmill. This is going to motivate me to declutter when I clean my bedroom this weekend.
I have been unwell so had to skip a bunch of videos but I am jumping back in here and I went through my wardrobe with you. I decluttered 9 items ☺
I hardly own any clothes in comparison. I do wish I had your white sweater with the blue hearts ❤. I am retired and mostly dress at home in my “uniform” - plain T shirt and black yoga pants. I opened a bin in our closet that I thought was my husband’s, but it was mine. Almost everything is gone. That felt good! Thank you!
I am watching at night in bed. But inspired to go through my things tomorrow.

Glad it was helpful!
2 sweaters and a shirt going to a new home and 5 sweaters on probation! I love the idea of probation!
Your clothes declutter videos are total favorites of mine! They've helped me evaluate what I like or don't like in the clothes I wear and have helped me no longer keep things just because I can.
So lovely to have your company even when I'm working in a different zone. Thank you
i have gotten rid of three things today. before Diane, i would have beaten myself up for not doing a REAL decluttering job. now i need to realize that something is better than nothing. Rah, rah, rah!
Hi Diane,
Actually my husband is decluttering his side of the closet right now. He lost a lot of weight the last year and we bring the clothes to the salvation army. Thank you for the video
We are having freezing rain today in my area so I greatly appreciated finding todays video. Stuck inside and a great time to declutter!! Thanks again!
Love the "clothes on probation" idea, Diane! I got a lot done today in the bedroom. Feeling motivated and thankful we can do this together as a community. Take care, Diane -- and thank you!
I am always surprised by how much can be accomplished in just 10 minutes Marlena
Love it!
I love hearing your reasons why an item is not working for you. It helps me analyze my wardrobe ❤ woohoo Go You 🕺💃
Yay, thanks, Suzanne!
As I watched you question your wardrobe pieces, I was inspired to declutter my closet for 10 minutes.
I used to wear turtlenecks. Now I can’t stand them around my neck but was holding on to them incase it was really cold. Time to say goodbye. Watching you gives me a desire to declutter. Thanks . Woo hoo 🎉
I am loving this declutterring. It is making such a difference. 😊
Thank youDiane! I feel so much better after my ten minutes with you this morning! ❤😊

Feeling the blahs today. Loved the tour of all your wonderful sweaters 💕
Your painted leather pants are so interesting! Love how adventurous you are with modifying clothing to make it work for YOU! 👏

I decluttered some of my jewelry-yay, go me! 😃

I agree that the yellow and orange sweaters can go! The colors you gravitate toward are soooo complimentary for you, lean into them.
I love the idea of putting clothes on probation! I will do that today!!
Thank you for the inspiring closet declutter video! It’s definitely an ongoing process :)

I like the probation idea, going through my sweaters/jumpers now….
Yay! Let me know if you want any of these! 😍
Dear Diane, Gosh! How many clothes you’ve got 😉. Great job decluttering - keep going! 🥰
I love the idea of clothing on probation. :)
Love your blouse ❤
The orange sweater🍊your face goes all "oh no"
I got rid of 25 things in my closet that I have not worn in years, but I was keeping because they were "nice". You are right- we should only been wearing (and keeping) things that make us feel good!
Oh, wow - great job, moeski! A big rah, rah, rah to you!
I also love royal blue. I think it is an elegant color, but it can look good as well in a casual outfit.
Love the ‘probation’ idea! Thank you Diane ❤ Rah! Rah!Rah! 😊
Thank you for yesterday’s motivation Diane. I decluttered 2 dresses and 5 sweaters 🎉 I have lots more to go! ❤️
I love the probation idea of putting the clothing items to the test in the next few days. Thank you for another excellent video!
We dont do these swaps in the USA. They are such a excellent idea.🎉❤
So…I didn’t do a clothes declutter, but I followed along with you and did a PUPA. 😊
I helped my daughter simplify her wardrobe and removed two bags of clothes and shoes. 🎉🎉
Clothes aren't a clutter item for me, but I do really love the probation idea to force you to figure out if things need to go. And seeing your colour palettes made me realise that I really should work out the colours that suit me now instead of what I remember from being much younger.
I like the concept of putting things in probation when decluttering
For my part I am in zone 1 so entrance to the dining room. I did some paper decluttering. I sorted, classified and recycled. Another productive 10 minutes. Thank you Diane for your motivation!
Hi Diane, I love your new RUclips format for the new year. Short, enjoyable, practical. Anything above 15 min will loose my attention. I’m decluttering my office this week. It has become a catch all space and demotivates me to do my work:-( Thanks for all your support!!
I have been doing the Flyman version.
😂
Go Phillip! 👏🤩
Thank you Diane for reminding me to declutter my wardrobe which I've been meaning to do for months!
I like the green sweater, it has nice texture and a bit of whimsy! Have a beautiful day!
I learned I have very few items of clothing from other decluttering sessions. Now I’ll go shopping.
Me too! Especially for winter clothes 😊
