I was privileged to hang with Taylor a few times in Burbank. His cover band played at one of my customers in Burbank. I helped Taylor unload his equipment (from his Subaru of all car choices!), we joked and we laughed. He listened to me like a friend when I told him I was a single dad with 3 kids and that's why I wasn't in a band at the time. He encouraged me to never give up. Taylor was easily the nicest, coolest, regular dude rock stars I've ever had the honor of briefly knowing. It's funny, he was calm and gentle in person but a hard-hitting beast on the drums! And he was always smiling!
I think of my "I met Taylor" moment as bumping into him at the intersection of Luck and Coincidence Streets. A few years back they had flown in the day prior and were playing the following night. A buddy of mine owns a sick brewery in Detroit and so I was hanging at his place on a late Sunday afternoon. Teams were all out of state so there was hardly anyone there. The joint is large enough for you to be secluded but small enough to see everyone that comes in. I held the only spot at the bar and this lanky dude in a trucker hat and aviators opens the door followed by a few others. I instantly knew who it was and did all I could to hold my fanboy inside. Of all the places Taylor and co. could have sat down...he chose to pull up next to me and his first words ring out like he's there next to me again..."so dude...what's good here???" I got a good 4 hours of just hang out time with him. I'd give anything for it again.
It is just that much more crshing...makes me wonder what was happening in his life...did one night just get away from him? What he struggling? It's just so impossibly sad. We greive together as fans and give for those who knew him. Such a talent and a good human.

I have always liked the Foos music, obviously a lot of the hit songs, but after learning of Taylor's tragic passing, I went back and started to listening to all of their albums and watching about as many You Tube videos on this great band as I could possibly find. Now, I am so pissed at myself that I never saw them in person. RIP TAYLOR HAWKINS.

In many ways they surpass the Beatles, Zep, Stones, etc. Surviving and thriving is necessary to be legendary. The debate is endless as to who is the greatest... I just insist they belong in that debate.
I wish I could find the right guys also! I'm a bassist and keyboard player. I also use Moog Taurus pedals for strings or synth sounds when playing bass or the Taurus bass sounds when playing the synth, Hammond B-3 or piano. I wish you lived closer. Depending on the music, I'd love to play in your band. If you listen to the Foo's, I'm sure we'd mesh well on the musical end. Good luck on your search. It is hard to find people who are serious enough, don't drink heavily, don't take drugs and everyone works together writing music to split the credits equally in a 3 or 4 piece band. That way there isn't drama or hard feelings about someone making more money than everyone else in the band. Look at Rush or R.E.M. They all share equally. That's how they got along so well. They became friends and brothers without any huge egos. That's also how they stayed together for so long without a single lineup change. Even when Bill Berry (the drummer to R.E.M) departed in 97, it was not for any reason but after his near death experience, he just wanted to live a normal life. The rest of the guys almost broke up until Bill told them he insisted that they carried on. He said if they were going to end the band, he wouldn't step back. R.E.M. continued as a band, however they never replaced Bill. They had multiple drummers play for them yet they were considered hired musicians, not full time members. They said that in a family, you couldn't replace a family member, a brother. I respect them for looking at their band as family members. It may take a little while for a friendship to turn into a trusted brother, but it's worth it in the end.

i think foo fighter is one my favorit band actually. I also use Moog Taurus pedals for strings or synth sounds when playing bass or the Taurus bass sounds when playing the synth, Hammond B-3 or piano. I wish you lived closer. Depending on the music, I'd love to play in your band. If you listen to the Foo's, I'm sure we'd mesh well on the musical end.
Good luck on your search. It is hard to find people who are serious enough, don't drink heavily, don't take drugs and everyone works together writing music to split the credits equally in a 3 or 4 piece band. That way there isn't drama or hard feelings about someone making more money than everyone else in the band. Look at Rush or R.E.M. They all share equally. That's how they got along so well. They became friends and brothers without any huge egos. That's also how they stayed together for so long without a single lineup change. Even when Bill Berry (the drummer to R.E.M) departed in 97, it was not for any reason but after his near death experience, he just wanted to live a normal life. The rest of the guys almost broke up until Bill told them he insisted that they carried on. He said if they were going to end the band, he wouldn't step back. R.E.M. continued as a band, however they never replaced Bill. They had multiple drummers play for them yet they were considered hired musicians, not full time members. They said that in a family, you couldn't replace a family member, a brother. I respect them for looking at their band as family members. It may take a little while for a friendship to turn into a trusted brother, but it's worth it in the end.

I have no sincere frustration today that nirvana no longer exists because when I see the talent accomplished by dave and kris on his side they have become one always in music the other a clearly respectable politicians I am clearly happy ! because dave grace a foo fighters allows me to find a little power of nirvana in their style, Kris is such a calm and humble person I think I'm sure it could make a politician in Washington surely more effective than some current politicians personal opinion.

his death Is a consequence of his former adicction, when a person pass through an adicction the medical sequels are big, you have to take a bunch of pills, and taylor also had depresion so its a mental health thing, he probably tried and fight till the end. RIP Taylor
