I have rewatched the whole show in between each season and it is literally a different show each time. That's the GOAT part of AOT for me, on top of everything else, obviously ^^
Remember when we thought that the Colossal Titan was the final boss? Remember when we thought that the walls were the only defense of the entire human kind
Just like he said Grisha needed to have a family and stay on his path to save Armin and Mikasa. He was the Attack Titan before Grisha and he knew of future events with no relation to the Founding Titan.
@@lk0324ok if it isn’t for shadowing why did Kruger say Armins and mikasa name right before he have greshia the attack titan? Go back to that episode and watch what he said
@@925bayareatycoon hes talking about this line specifically, it isnt foreshadowing because one can easily take it in its literal meaning. Memories from past shifters are passed on to future ones. The part with armin and mikasa was foreshadowing. "Whose memories are those" because as eren said, it all happens at once and forever. Hes a mess mentally. As soon as he got the power of the founder and paths, he existed throughout the 2000 years. Eren 1000% did and possibly could have influenced the entire path of 2000 years to get to this point to free ymir, it was always ymir and the attack titan imo represents her desire to be free, it just took 2000 years to gain the power and rage build up to break free of her chains, she needed a real connection. Eren gained his freedom, by choosing how to free everyone else from the cycle and choose who to save.
This future memory shit is really unique and clever mechanic to use in this storytelling. I wonder if Isayama created it himself, or Eren just whispered on him to write it
In terms of narrative, the author can concieve his characters in a way, but sometimes they just take their own path, one that only cares about serving the plot and not the author's will. Somehow, someway, it could be said that characters write themselves. Eren manipulating Isayama is as possible as ironic.
If you pay attention to the words Eren used to manipulate his dad, it was the same words Kruger told him before giving him the Attack Titan. That’s why he knew saying it like that would get his father to act.
I think it's the opposite. I think it was Eren speaking through Kruger the first time, saying whatever would motivate Grisha to go through with it. It would have been Grisha's first time hearing those words, Eren's second time using them to push Grisha to do what he wanted to do. Manipulation born out of having already seen his Father's memories and knowing what would emotionally resonate with him.
18:20 “everyone is a victim of circumstance … but im not excusing the horrible things everybody does” hayley summed up the show. she may actually be commander of the scouts.
In the anime, the first episode doesn’t show Grisha’s head while he’s showing the basement key to Eren. But in the manga, in the very first chapter, we see Grisha inexplicably staring off to the side while showing Eren the key. This odd quirk made no sense until the chapter corresponding to this episode was released.
I"m really sad that nuggets like those didn't make it to the anime. Putting it all together makes it that much sweeter when you have all those bits and pieces.
it took me awhile to realise that grisha was not seeing eren at all!! instead grisha was seeing himself thorough eren's pov (basically seeing himself though eren's memories) and even when he hugged zeke, he was just hugging air and eren was standing infornt of zeke and ghrisha saw zeke through eren's pov
Uh no, that makes no sense. Grisha is clearly making physical contact with Zeke. Eren was also able to grab Grisha’s shoulder when making him kill the Reiss’s
The biggest mindfuck of this episode was when I realized weeks after the fact that the speech Eren was giving to his dad was the exact same one Kruger gave to Grisha. "You keep moving forward, even if you die, even after death. Aren't you the one who started this story?" Pretty sure it's word for word.
The reason why Grisha can see Zeke is because he's seeing him through Eren's memories. Every time Grisha sees Zeke Eren is always standing behind him facing Zeke behind Grisha. Also the reason why Grisha makes that surprised face when staring at Eren is because he's directly looking at himself. Also also Eren telling Grisha that he's the one that started this story is the same line Eren Kruger said to him when giving him the attack titan. All of these events were seen when Eren touched Historia's hand at the end of season 3.
Small little detail from the ceremony - when Historia is about the put the pendant over Eren's head, the pendant and the form/shadow on Historia's dress is nearly identical to Eren's founding titan form. The level of intricacy in this show/story is beyond anything else I've ever experienced before. It's worth at least one rewatch.
Here's what I love about that episode. That showdown wasn't really between Grisha and Frieda... it was between King Reiss's will from the past vs Eren Jaeger's will from the future, battling through their surrogates.
No it was Grisha and Eren bypassing the King's will by stealing the founding Titan. They knew that they couldn't fight the King's will and had no hope of undoing it so they didn't bother. They just ate the royal. That's why Eren said to Grisha "you know what you came here to do". That's why Eren got pissed off when Grisha started appealing to Frieda rather than doing what they came to do. Steal the Titan.
No, the royal family couldn't break free from the vow like Zeke did. Remember, Zeke didn't actually possess the founding titan - he was just a royal titan touching the founding titan. Which means he still had free will. Because Frieda actually has the founder's titan, she is controlled by King Fritz's will. To behave like Zeke, they would have needed someone who wasn't possessed by the founder's titan to cooperate with them.
Exactly! When he says he nullified the vow, he meant that he could undo it so future inheritors wouldn’t be bound by it since he had full control of the founder at that point.
@@akashdatta5149 King Fritz made his family line submit to his will - to make a kingdom cut off from the rest of the world. And to one day accept the world's hatred and let this kingdom be destroyed. Even though they have their own thoughts and personalities, if any of his direct descendants (those of royal blood) eat the founding tian, Fritz's will takes over. This was to prevent them from rebelling and attempting to destroy the world. Instead, they would keep their population naive of the outside world and wait for Eldia to be invaded.
I just never understood why Frieda was so weak. Wasn't her supposed to control the most powerful titan? Like I think she was supposed to win over Grisha in that fight
@@enzoys She lacked combat experience with her titan. She was just 18 by then and the Royal family likely saw no need to train for combat. Grisha meanwhile fought his way to the walls when they were still swarming with titans beyond them.
That part really blew my mind when I first read it lol, it was so frustrating that I had no friend to talk about it with because they weren't caught up to the manga at that time.
The empathy you guys feel for the characters in this world is touching. You guys are have such great commentary and insight! I hope you enjoy the rest of the show!
I could literally comment every episode about how amazing these two are because they never disappoint. The combination of genuine reaction and intelligent review... These girls are the best anime reactors I've ever seen. This episode was no different, they catch on so well to so many things and the tears and smiles are so relatable. 🎉❤
For once I'm really glad how off-base they were (which is so rare). They were saying "Oh so Frieda must kill them then?" and I was like "omg this is going to be good, they aren't even thinking that Eren could play a bigger part"
Turns out they were Grisha's. "You have to lean how to control this power to save Armin and Mikasa" is word-for-word what Grisha was crying to Eren as he was about to inject him. We see it in the episode where Eren stops the cannonball to save Armin and Mikasa. We can now confidently surmise Grisha actually saw Eren transform to stop the cannonball to save Armin and Mikasa. Of course Krueger would recall this memory of injecting Eren when he himself was about to inject Grisha and teaching him how to transform. Dejá-vu.
when eren said he was disgusted, he was actually referring to himself. you can see here that these are the memories he saw when he kissed historia's hand at the very end of s3, and then after that we get the sea scene, where eren is VERY different compared to how he acted before. He saw himself making his dad end the Reiss family, which was what disgusted him
Eren was controlling everyone who inherited the Attack Titan since the first one. Because as he is the last, there is noone to control him. Like how King Fritz controlled all people who inherited Founding Titan. The only difference is, King Fritz controls from the past, Eren controls from the future.
I wouldn't call it "control". He didn't control Krueger for example. Rather, Eren's will and fighting spirit were passed down (up?) backward through time, not unlike how these things get passed down for other titans.
@@elheberright-the attack titan is what it is because Eren is who he is. Time stuff gets messy though, you could also pretty easily buy that Eren and the attack titan are the personification of Ymir's longstanding, repressed wish to fight back.
no no, the attack titan doesn't have the ability to see past or future, they just all received memories from the future inheritors, because the founding titan has the ability to transcend time and space
So, I'm not sure if you guys picked it up, but here is how the Future stuff works: Eren sent memories to his father of the future. He showed his father his own memories of what will happen in the future... But he didn't show him EVERYTHING, just snippets. THEN, when Eren touched Historia's hand, he saw all of his Dad's memories.. which included the future memories that (future) Eren sent to his father. So Eren can only see the future because IN the future, he sends those memories back to his dad, and then once he sees everything that his dad knows, he also sees those future memories. A bit confusing, but hopefully that makes sense. So that's why Eren changed at the end of Season 3 right after the Historia hand kiss.. He became more sad and cold.. And thats because he saw his dads memories.. which means he saw the future that he sent back to his dad.. So he knew that he was going to start the Rumbling, but he didnt know WHY.. so he spend years trying to find away, but everything kept happening and he couldnt change what he saw..
13:50 to be clear, Eren cannot send memories back, all the Attack Titan can do is use the same memory transference ability the rest of the titans can, except it goes both backwards and forwards. Grisha just asked why he wont show him everything because fom Grisha's PoV it feels like he's being shown a curated set of memories, but we as the viewers know this isn't the case, 1. because it's never shown at any point in the show, but 2. because Grisha also has seen memories that directly contradict Eren's goals
The way the whole episode was handled is epitomic. The voice acting, the OST, the tension in the scene. Isayama did it, Mappa did it .....one of the greatest episode in television.
No, the real split is between people who believe in self’s defense and those who don’t. Those who believe in the few being killed for the many and those who don’t. Those who believe in action and those who believe in doing nothing.
ITS FINALLY HERE. The attack titan can see whatever the future wielder wants them to see. And it seems like Eren has been leading EVERY ATTACK TITAN THROUGH HISTORY, GUIDING THEM TO THIS POINT SO EREN COULD TOUCH ZEKE AND GAIN THE POWER OF THE FOUNDER. If you go back to episodes in season 1, you can see silhouettes of CURRENT EREN in the background watching his younger self. You can see him in YOUR OWN REACTION IN EPISODE 2 at 12:14! Like...WHAT. The manga wasn't even finished when that episode aired. This has been the plan since the beginning.
Just to clear this attack titan ability.. It's not able to see glimpses of future memories but rather the future inheritor can send back memories to the past inheritor.. that's why grisha says "why won't you show me everything eren"
@@SanketPatole he was seeing the memories before that as well.. but it just happened to be he got those future memories when he kissed historia's hand.. to clear your confusion, they weren't exactly future memories they were still grisha's memories cuz eren or anyone can't see future memories.. those memories were sent to grisha by the Future eren of that timeline and then they became part of grisha's memories when eren kissed historia's hand he unlocked more grisha's memories including the memories Future eren sent to grisha
@@AM17titan 1. If it's about possessing Attack Titan+Founding Titan and then touching royal blood, then how could Eren Kruger (Only Attack Titan) see Eren Jaeger's future memories without possessing Founding Titan and touching royal blood? 2. If it's only about possessing Attack Titan+Founding Titan, Then how could Grisha Jaeger (Only Attack Titan) see Eren Jaeger's future memories without acquiring the Founding Titan first? 3. If it's only about possessing Attack Titan, then how could Eren sleeping under the tree see future Eren i.e. attack Titan's memories of Eren's mom being eaten? 4. If Eren's Attack Titan (only) intentionally sends future memories to past holders of Attack Titan, then who sent future memories of Flying Jaw Titan to Falco?
Eren repeats Kruger's words to Grisha about finishing what he started. The setups and payoffs in this show are amazing. Also you're right about pretty much everyone being a victim of circumstance, and that's what makes the whole thing so tragic. Because every choice made by every single person in this story makes logical sense from the perspective of the person making said choice, and when you try to put yourself in their shoes it gets real hard to claim that you would have acted differently.
Everytime Grisha “saw” Zeke, Eren was standing BEHIND Grisha, giving him “a good view” from his perspective and thus sending those memories via the power of the Attack Titan. When Grisha was showing young Eren the key, he was staring at future Eren because he was getting a memory from future Eren’s pov staring BACK at Grisha but from Grisha’s pov… no one is in front of him. So he was getting 2 perspectives of the same event. He KNEW someone was watching him but can’t see future Eren because he can only see everything from future Eren’s pov in addition to his own, which includes future Zeke.
-I want to clarify about seeing the future, all titan shifters are able to see the past through previous users, but attack titan apart from being able to see the past but they can see the future through subsequent users, "only memories" -What Eren did to Grisha was beyond the power of the Attack Titan, Grisha was able to see and feel Eren's presence and emotions as if he were by Grisha's side, deciding which memory should be given to Grisha or not is the power of Founding -why is Eren able to use Founding better than Frieda and Zeke because Eren has memories in season 3 when Rod Reiss told Historia to touch Eren and he chose Frieda's memory from Eren because he wanted to introduce Historia about Frieda, while Eren who was asking questions " Have I been in this place before?” he got the memory of his father eating Frieda, then after Eren got to the basement and got the truth, he was still wondering if there was a truth that he hadn't gotten, which in the end when he kissed Historia he got his own memories of "Path" (that he himself did it not Grisha) -Therefore what Eren is doing in "path" is using Zeke who takes him to his father's memories, which means not "Eren did it again "but Eren is doing it right now" remember there is no time specification in path but what certain is that they did faster in the real world -As feedback from Eren, he showed Zeke that their father was a good father and he regret what he did to Zeke
7:36 The reason Zeke was able to brake the chains was because those chains were fake and were designed to trick Eren. Zeke never was bound by the will of King Fritz because he isn't the one wielding the Founding Titan. Frieda wouldn't be able to do it.
Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, the PATHS have led us all for this very moment. This episode is basically the clash of the First King's immovable will of the past to Eren's unstoppable desire for the future.
Technically in Japanese “Shingeki no Kyojin” means “The advancing Titan/The advancing of the Titans”; so you get how something/someone can “advance”? Because it sees the future, it can see forward and knows how to move.
9:54 You missed the scene from the previous season where Eren unlocks all these memories when he kisses Historia's hand. That's when Eren changes completely
if you notice eren only came to know why he was there when grisha sees zeke in the basement you could see eren was also shocked before going into the memories and during it eren constantly told zeke to get out as he was no longer brainwashed notice how after witnessing grisha see zeke, eren quickly realized why he was there and THIS TIME told zeke to go to next memory thats why he thanks zeke at the end
Man you two are so empathetic, it’s so heartwarming, beyond the quality reactions I just hope you both know that the way you both feel for and understand these characters on such an innate emotional level speaks volumes about you both as people, sometimes you can just tell some people are good
Ppl may disagree but I have Grisha in my top 10 AoT characters… anytime he’s on screen the pivots are so monumental and gut wrenching you just can’t ignore his character.
@@lk0324 no what it is everyone is just soft. In the beginning everyone is with Eren to obliterate all the titans. As the series goes on ( S4 specifically ) we get introduced to new characters and grow a soft spot for them. Now all of a sudden we aren't on Eren's side . Bunch of soft hearted traitors everyone.
OK so just to help you guys out, not sure if you really read these comments but here’s an explanation for the attack titan‘s secret ability: if you remember the owl knew who Mikasa and Armin was when he was talking to Grecia passing on the powers, this is because Aaron through the attack titan power goes back in time to give future memories to the Attack Titans of the past. So really only the attack titan‘s of the past can see the future. When Aaron kissed Historia‘s hand, he saw his father‘s memory, and saw what HE himself did. Which is why he had an horrific look on his face. Zeke throughout the episode isn’t picking up on these little hints that he’s seeing them despite the fact that they are from the future. It’s not until the revelation of Zeke realizes that Aaron wanted him to take him into the past so that he could force his father to kill the Reese family. So every single attack titan in history Aaron manipulated so that he would get the power, so that everything will fall into place for him to get the founding power so that he could accomplish his goal.
Yeah I don't buy that. As far as we know, Eren only sent memories to his father. We saw him in front of the mirror trying to learn how to send memories, and in this episode we saw the first time Eren finally learned how to do it in the basement with Zeke. We also know that in the future, Eren will send Grisha mere glimpses of the rumbling, because Grisha said so.
@@elheber I will first respond to your initial point, that being that he only sent memories to his father. Are you saying that all the past Titans could see the future but that only Grecia saw it from Eren directly? It’s clear that the memories shown to the past Titans are chosen by either Eren or Ymir. That’s number one. Likely Eren. But given that Eren in someways is an extension of the Ymir, this still barely makes a difference. Either way, the past attack Titans are given glimpses, they cannot see the full future. They are only see what they are allowed to see. This is why Eren Krueger said “You have to save Armin and Mikasa.” This doesn’t make sense if he chose to say this on his own volition given that he doesn’t know them or care about them at all. It’s Eren who is having him say this. The rest of your points don’t contradict a single thing I said before. So I don’t know why you decided to stay at those points. So I don’t disagree with any of them
@@bossisin2510 "Are you saying that all the past Titans could see the future but that only Grecia saw it from Eren directly?" Yes. Grisha saw glimpses of Eren's memories, Krueger saw glimpses of Grisha's memories, and whoever came before Krueger saw glimpses of Kueger's memories. "This is why Eren Krueger said 'You have to save Armin and Mikasa.' ” Krueger said this because it's word-for-word what Grisha cried to Eren as he was about to inject him. It was deja-vu. Likewise, Grisha said that to Eren because he saw a glimpse of Eren needing to transform to save Armin and Mikasa, probably from the very same canon in that episode.
@@elheber you make great points to back up an argument that is false. In order to fully dive in to this and find the answer, we have to look at where titan abilities come from, who dictates them, and what the end goal for these choices are. Every titan ability comes from God, or the devil, or life, whatever you wanna call that being that your Ymir ran into. This being has one goal, to survive and thrive. It is clear that it is meant to represent the evil that is inside all of us. The monster that is within, that we are all capable of being. As long as the Sting exists, evil, chaos, war, will exist. It is the evil within. I am saying this to point out the fact that it really is meant to represent more than it is to be, we are not meant to assume that it has any higher deeper motives, and we are not meant to treat it as a character. Ymir on the other hand we are. Ymir’s end goal from the time she entered the paths, was to get Eren Yeager to help her be free. She has the will but lacks the strength, she has the strength but lacks the will. By joining forces they both get what they want. But where it gets interesting is whether or not his will is even his own, or if it comes from her. This is where the show gets incredibly complex and deep. But that has nothing to do with our argument so I will move on. The point being, you are wrong… No, it’s Eren using the power of the founding titan(ymir) to send memories back in time. Grisha mistakenly thought it was the Attack Titan’s power. So did all the previous attack Titans, there’s no way they could understand what was really happening. It had to be the attack titan that Aaron received, Emmett had to be him that freed her, so she made sure that none of the other Titans had this ability or knew about disability including the founding. It’s in her power to dictate which titans have witch abilities. All things titan related or under her control. This is why the attack titan can “see the future” it’s more so so that Eren/Ymir can manipulate all of them to make sure the events that need to happen for him to get the founding happen. Now it’s important to note that he doesn’t happen to disability until he receives the founding. But that is the only reason why the attack titan can seemingly see into the future. It’s a founding titan ability, that can only be accessed by someone who is not held down by the kings wish, and it only affects the attack Titans. It is not an ability they just randomly have because that’s how it happened and they just happen to have it. now there is an argument to be made, that it is not Eren who uses the founding titan power to manipulate the past to ensure the future/present, but Ymir instead. This would make sense. A large chunk of evidence to point to this would be the first episode, based on the titles of both episode one and 80, and based on the fact that at this point Aaron has not been given the titan serum yet, it is Eumir that since Aaron a vision of his future while he sleeps under the tree, to subconsciously lead him to that future. If you need further explanation for this specific point let me know, if you don’t know what I’m referencing. So the fact that your mirror was directly sending visions to Aaron without him having the attack titan ability, points to the likelihood that she played a major or main part in sending visions to the previous Titans. And that eren only effective Grecia. But there are instances of Aaron affecting and manipulating the past to ensure his own success, like him sending Dina to kill his mother. Which of course like I explained, all of this is only possible with the founding titan‘s abilities. But either way your theory assumes that the attack titan is a random ability, and the visions you see are random, and if the wheels of the attack titans up until eren are free. This could not be further from the truth. Also whether or not it’s Erin or yimir that manipulates the past, it almost doesn’t matter given that Eren‘s own choices are in question on whether or not they are actually mirrors. Whoever it was, or whether or not it was both of them equally, the point is that the past attack titans were manipulated.
If you're still confused as to exactly how Eren pulled this off, here's an analogy I came up with very recently that really helps me: *Eren is a secret RUclips reactor* 😆 So Zeke, using the Founder's power, comes up to Eren and is like, "Yo Eren I have a video of your entire childhood, recorded by Grisha, wanna react to it?" And Eren's like, "Okay then." And so they react to it, but secretly Eren *records the entire reaction* (in his own memories) and *sends their reaction video back in time* into Grisha's head (using the Attack Titan's unique power) and presses PLAY on the recording, so that it perfectly syncs up with Grisha's actual life -- so Grisha is living his life AND getting instant feedback from Eren and Zeke simultaneously. (What a way to live, eh? 😬) And of course Grisha is reacting to Eren and Zeke's feedback, which produces this perfect simultaneous feedback loop that allows Grisha to essentially interact with them "in real time". And then of course later (so to speak), younger Eren receives all of Grisha's memories of the temple incident from Grisha (via the ordinary memory inheritance) when he kisses Historia's hand -- and sees himself manipulating Grisha! It all comes full circle.
ITS HERE one of the gratest plot twists of all time and memes were born. Really meme of Eren standing over Isayama (SnK creator) telling him what to do when he was writing the story is just peak pop culture
7:35 Zeke could only break the chains because he had royal blood but didn't possess the Founding Titan, thus wasn't bound by the oath renouncing war. Plus he never wanted to start war in the first place, he just made the chains to fool Eren
Oh that's right! Even if he WAS bound by the oath, he'd still be able to enact his euthanization plan. In fact, Karl Fritz would have probably shown up as a ghostly apparition to give Zeke a smile and thumbs up.
When Grisha stabs himself, there is a shot of Eren kissing Historia's hand. Later when Eren is pushing them out of their father's memories, there is another shot of Eren's face after kissing Historia's hand. It's my stance that those two shots mark the start and end of what Eren saw that day when he kissed Historia's hand. From that single scene Eren learned he could send memories to his father, that killing the royal family was his own order, that Zeke was in here with him, and that he was going to do the Rumbling. That's all Eren ever knew about the future. That's all he needed to know. Everything else, from Sasha's death, to the surprise attack at Shiganshina, to Zeke's betrayal... all of these were surprises to Eren.
It just stuck me now, after all these years. Zeke is like the first kid who every parent sort of screws up or at least makes a lot of mistakes with. But, then the second kid, or Eren, comes along and by now the parents have an idea of how to parent and things are a lot different and better.
This episode is definitely the best of the whole season, probably the whole show. Grisha's voice actor deserves every award for his performance in this episode.
the memes that came out of the fandom after this episode aired were so funny 😭 from eren's head in zeke's hand template, to theories that eren whispered things to isayama on how to write aot. people were rewatching old interviews of the writer and saying "if you listen hard enough, you can hear eren telling isayama what to answer". the things a depressed fandom will do to cope 😭
I can feel you guys! It was also a roller coaster ride of emotion watching this amazing episode, and I had teary eyes in the end witnessing the reconsiliation between Grisha and Zeke. I've been looking forward to watch your reaction for this episode. You guys are smart and receptive! I really understand the confusion you had about the Attack Titan's ability in seeing the future. I believe you guys will have better understanding later. Grisha's VA .. is just ... tour de force!
You are right, after the reveal in this episode, it is another show again. Only this time, it is not the remaining episodes that are different, but all the previous ones. This is a much bigger reveal than you realize. The power of Attack titan is not seeing the future, but the ability to send back memories to the past. Which means the current owner selects what the past owners see and when they see it. When Eren was shouting "Fight, fight" to the mirror, he was sending back a memory, telling someone from the past to fight or most likely telling his past self to fight. You know how they say "The attack titan always rebelled against power and seeked freedom". But isn't it weird that no other of the 9 titans had any personality attached to them? That is because the Attack Titan also does not have a personality. It was just Eren, sending memories to the past owners and manipulating them to seek freedom and rebel to power, either directly or indirectly. That is why "The Owl" knew the names of Armin and Mikasa, that is why it asked Eren's Father to save Armin and Mikasa. The entire history of Attack titan is just Eren dominating everyone with his personality and ideals. It is kind of like the "War Renouncing Wow" of King Fritz, only backwards and through sheer will.
Past and the future all happen at the same time, is like a circle dont have beginning or end, is cycle of time. The oast affect the future and the future affect the past all at the same time. Past and future are conected.
I don't know if you missed it but there was this one scene in season 3 they showed here again, when Eren kissed Historias hands and he was just petrified in the moment. He basically made contact back then. To me it implied that he saw all this and. After that he became much more not himself. Remember when they got to the sea for the first time and he couldn't really feel anything
This part 13:42 is not mentioned enough, because that's EXACTLY what happened. Eren did not lie to Grisha though, Grisha has his tendencies of assuming thing (just like he assume that Ymir Fritz must be a good person based on pictures even though he can't decipher the text at all) So he assumes that the Attack Titan has this capabilities of seeing future memories when in fact it's Future Founder Eren (not the one that is present with Zeke in the past) that has been sending memories that he needs to to the past in order for things to happen the way they are. It's a bootstrap paradox, event A happens because of event B which happens because of event A.

Technically it’s Ymir. Eren has no free will
The reason why Grisha can see Zeke is because he's seeing him through Eren's memories.
They're showing moment of a kiss in this episode actually 😊
11:34 a quick flash of Eren from the medal ceremony showing what he saw when he kissed Historia's hand
@@chinyereugwu9431 You literally made his point
eren is basically permitting his father to see through his own eyes, so that he can interact with Zeke and say he is sorry.
Can someone explain the vow renouncing war in simple terms ?!

“Mikasa, Armin? Who’s memories are these?”

So, I'm not sure if you guys picked it up, but here is how the Future stuff works:
Eren sent memories to his father of the future.
So he knew that he was going to start the Rumbling, but he didnt know WHY.. so he spend years trying to find away, but everything kept happening and he couldnt change what he saw..
this episode contains my favourite moment not just from this series but from any. Been looking forward to this reaction

When im in pain i actually watch there videos over and over again i actually feel like we share the same pain deym im so deep 😢 i love this channel 😢❤
Idk how many episodes ago it started, but she’s been in tears constantly XD
-I want to clarify about seeing the future, all titan shifters are able to see the past through previous users, but attack titan apart from being able to see the past but they can see the future through subsequent users, "only memories"
-What Eren did to Grisha was beyond the power of the Attack Titan, Grisha was able to see and feel Eren's presence and emotions as if he were by Grisha's side, deciding which memory should be given to Grisha or not is the power of Founding
-why is Eren able to use Founding better than Frieda and Zeke because Eren has memories in season 3 when Rod Reiss told Historia to touch Eren and he chose Frieda's memory from Eren because he wanted to introduce Historia about Frieda, while Eren who was asking questions " Have I been in this place before?” he got the memory of his father eating Frieda, then after Eren got to the basement and got the truth, he was still wondering if there was a truth that he hadn't gotten, which in the end when he kissed Historia he got his own memories of "Path" (that he himself did it not Grisha)
-Therefore what Eren is doing in "path" is using Zeke who takes him to his father's memories, which means not "Eren did it again "but Eren is doing it right now" remember there is no time specification in path but what certain is that they did faster in the real world
-As feedback from Eren, he showed Zeke that their father was a good father and he regret what he did to Zeke
7:36 The reason Zeke was able to brake the chains was because those chains were fake and were designed to trick Eren. Zeke never was bound by the will of King Fritz because he isn't the one wielding the Founding Titan. Frieda wouldn't be able to do it.
Kiss is actually onto something here with her analysis of what Eren did with the memories.

THEY MADE IT
OK so just to help you guys out, not sure if you really read these comments but here’s an explanation for the attack titan‘s secret ability: if you remember the owl knew who Mikasa and Armin was when he was talking to Grecia passing on the powers, this is because Aaron through the attack titan power goes back in time to give future memories to the Attack Titans of the past.
So I don’t disagree with any of them
@@bossisin2510 "Are you saying that all the past Titans could see the future but that only Grecia saw it from Eren directly?"
Yes. Grisha saw glimpses of Eren's memories, Krueger saw glimpses of Grisha's memories, and whoever came before Krueger saw glimpses of Kueger's memories.
"This is why Eren Krueger said 'You have to save Armin and Mikasa.' ”
Krueger said this because it's word-for-word what Grisha cried to Eren as he was about to inject him.
Aaron
We've now reached the "I can fix him" part of the show 😂
If you're still confused as to exactly how Eren pulled this off, here's an analogy I came up with very recently that really helps me: *Eren is a secret RUclips reactor* 😆 So Zeke, using the Founder's power, comes up to Eren and is like, "Yo Eren I have a video of your entire childhood, recorded by Grisha, wanna react to it?" And Eren's like, "Okay then." And so they react to it, but secretly Eren *records the entire reaction* (in his own memories) and *sends their reaction video back in time* into Grisha's head (using the Attack Titan's unique power) and presses PLAY on the recording, so that it perfectly syncs up with Grisha's actual life -- so Grisha is living his life AND getting instant feedback from Eren and Zeke simultaneously.

@@elheber that would've been a dope twist
Have you witnessed that Eren had his moment of silence when he saw Mikasa. Keep that in mind
Grisha's VA came back from the dead and absolutely nailed the role
What? He had episodes in S3 after the Battle of Shinganshina. Not to mention Zeke’s flashback episode
@@GorramT yup in all that episodes he stole the show just by his voice acting
It just stuck me now, after all these years. Zeke is like the first kid who every parent sort of screws up or at least makes a lot of mistakes with. But, then the second kid, or Eren, comes along and by now the parents have an idea of how to parent and things are a lot different and better.
Eren in S1 , 2 , 3 - call an ambulance , call an ambulance
Eren s4 - But not for me
"Let's watch the next one..." "YES", that got me XD
12:34 seeing this make me wanna cry with her too 😭
every time
I don't know if you missed it but there was this one scene in season 3 they showed here again, when Eren kissed Historias hands and he was just petrified in the moment. He basically made contact back then. To me it implied that he saw all this and. After that he became much more not himself. Remember when they got to the sea for the first time and he couldn't really feel anything
My mornings are better with your videos, thanks
Grisha brainwashing Eren?❌
Zeke brainwashing Eren?❌
Eren brainwashing Grisha?✅✅
An 80% emotional episode, 20% savage, as usual.
Never clicked so Fast
I've always interpreted it as the attack titan shows you exactly as much of the future as you need to see to guide you towards the desired outcome.
I have waited 2000 years for the next ep. Be ready all the subjects of Ymir, His name is EREN YEAGER!!!!
Ore no nawa Eren Jeager
Zeke: "Our dad traumatized me"
Eren: "I traumatized our dad"
Once again, kiss got everything right about why eren kept rod reiss alive.
This is a top 3 episode of all-time for me, in all of TV. Everything about it is masterclass.
This is the best episode ever.
If it were a movie, Grisha Yeager would be an Oscar winner. What a performance by voice actor Hiroshi Tsuchida.
What an episode. Wow. When Grisha goes crazy at the end, it gets me crying every time. ❤
