Tangerine Leaves Volume 18: Birmingham 1976 features one more concert of the famous TD tour of autumn 1976 -- a recording done at the Birmingham Odeon which is known only by very few people. It is a front row recording which could have been an absolute Tangerine Tree highlight, but unfortunately the concert must have been at least 130dB, and the taper's poor machine could not not take this. The more silent parts have a superb sound quality, but the louder it gets the more it becomes a pretty overmodulated affair, which is a shame as TD did a superb performance. Thus, sound quality ranges from very good to extremely bad, but there is almost no audience noise.

I honesty cannot believe that TD never thought to have their concerts professionally recorded. The gold they spontaneously produced during their '76 tour could fill several albums and in perfect sound quality.

Yes...very sad. Nearly unsupportable for listening...not my choice of recording. Even as a fan i must leave it alone. And turn my ears to better quality...before they start bleeding!🤣🤣🤣

I wanted to start an argument and say it's great, but after a couple minutes , I couldn't ! Love the TD of the 70s most ,but the sound quality here is unlistenable to my ears 👂 👂. You're 100% correct!
