The price of this OtO Sprinkler has DROPPED significantly since this video. I also have a discount code for $50 off a new unit if you’re interested!

That thing is really cool. Makes me wish I had a need for it.. Great job Kyle 👍🏼
Thanks Nate!!! I really think it would be good for folks with a medium sized yard and flower beds. It would really shine there.
@@TheLawnMentor exactly 💯
Nice job!
Great overview, that thing looks sweet!
That’s Justin! I’m having a blast with this thing
Man that thing is cool af
The more I’ve gotten to use it, the cooler it is. Their app is a fantastic user experience. They nailed it.
I ended up returning mine after many days of painstaking troubleshooting and swapping out units.I ended up buying chained impact sprinklers and a smart timer. They WORK like a charm at a fraction of the price.
What was your issue?
@@TheLawnMentor The units would only ever spit out water. The impact sprinklers have no problem reaching the 20 feet to my property line but the Oto's struggled to reach 3 feet.
Did you reach out to OtO Lawn for help? Curious what their help was like
@@TheLawnMentor I did. Multiple times. Support is not bad but that didn't improve my experience a whole bunch.
Thanks for sharing
Side piece was exactly the name I was thinking
MY MAN! 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
You totally nailed this!!! I had so many questions and u answered most of them!!!
How can it skip over stairs to opposite side of porch?
Does it really fan over every area in the diameter thst u chose?
When you setup the boundary, you’ll just have to move the boundary around the stairs so it misses them. It really does cover the whole area you lay out! It can also do spot watering for planters too
you mentioned this briefly in the video, but would have liked to see how exactly it fills in/waters the entire area you setup. That might make or break me getting one of these bad boys 😄
Sounds like I need to post a Timelapse!
@@TheLawnMentor yes please!

Why I OtO….lol Good job buddy.
Best comment winner haha
Can I connect multiple units to the same hose line(daisy chain style) I am guess each unit would have separate watering times so that flow would be max
It may affect the water pressure and it will sense insufficient pressure. I wouldn’t recommend it
Do you choose mow around the hose and Oto system or disconnect the hose and mow/edge around your foundation?
I mow and weed whack around it. Works for me!
Can you have it water a specific small area for a specific period of time. For instance watering a base of a tree for 10 min?
YES! It’s called spot watering and you can program it independently of the other zones it’s in charge of. I have a video coming out this weekend about it so make sure you’re here to check it out!
Does oto know or can it be figured out if it's mounted at like 10ft high? As far as the spray distance goes?
When you setup the zone, you can adjust the throw distance
I'm really curious about a couple of things: 1) how does this thing do when there are trees in your yard and 2) is it sensitive to water pressure (or lack thereof) from water being used in other places inside your house, and how does it affect the setup process? Thanks!
1 - what do you mean about the trees exactly?
2 - yes, it has a sensor in it to detect the pressure and attempt to compensate. However, if it’s too low it will error out
re. Trees. I'm guessing he means that what happens if theres a tree (trunk) blocking a section of the yard. So if Oto is watering a Zone, a portion will just hit the tree, until it moves on from that spot.
One page front and back is two pages.
Perhaps “piece of paper” was a better choice of words LOL
Got a question. After program it the pattern I want can I water with it Manuel. Inside of useing a schedule. I don’t want to leave water on threw a water hose all the time
You absolutely can
Do you have to turn the water off? Or the recommended approach is just to leave the water spicket on at all times?
You’ll leave it on
What’s the shortest throw it has? Because setting it right on the lawn I can’t imagine it can water 6” from itself or can it?
It’s virtually inches in front of itself
How close to the oto does it spary? Looks like the stream doesn't water 2 feet around the unit.
The newest model (out now, not in this video) does spray closer to the unit. This video features an older unit
What model did you showcase? Is the newest model the 5102-B?
Quick question for you. Do you know if the bottles of product you put into the oto are time based. Like, since you scan the qr code to tell it what is in that slot. Will it only do so many Cycles or time before it just says the bottle is empty and doesn't use it anymore?
Reason I ask is I have a pretty small area I'm looking at using an oto, and I don't want to be wasting half a bottle of fert or pet product because the bottles are time/cycle limited by qr code.
It keeps track of how much gets used per cycle and shows you a graphic inside the app to show the bottle level
@@TheLawnMentor ok, cool. I figured it would be smart enough to not be wasteful. Just wanted to verify before I ordered one.
Thanks for your response.
You’re welcome!!!
Anyone know if this thing can account for varying water pressure? (40 - 60 psi from a well pump + pressure tank)
Recommended pressure is 50 so I think you should be good!
Any substitutes on the fertilizers ??? I feel like thats how they get people to pay more $$$ is through their subscriptions…. Can you hook up fertilizers like “Sunday” into it? Or can you get their fertilizers without subscribing??? Or any other advice? Thanks in advance!
Technically they don’t permit you to hook up any of your own stuff. I think it would void warranty. Might try it though!
I am looking at buying (2) for my side "pieces" :)...are you happy with the ability to water the '
"whole zone"?...I tried to find your time lapse video on Insta and FB but couldn't find it?...any comments really appreciated
Yeah they work great! I’m going to make an update video on them coming up shortly
@@TheLawnMentor will need to 'secure" mine via padlock and chain unfortunately...any experience or thoughts on this?...
@islandmac1 I’ve never had any issues where I live with theft. Don’t forget my discount code LAWNMENTOR to save some bucks
just curious how long it takes to finish a watering cycle on that defined side yard?
That should depend on the volume of water I believe and the complexity of that shape. So far I’ve seen a cycle take right at 1 hour. You can actually track it within the app since it gives you a push notification when it starts and stops!
@@TheLawnMentor how much water is it putting down per sq foot during that hour?
The area it covers is around 500sq ft and it puts down just over 0.5” of water in that cycle
@@TheLawnMentorone hrs for 0.5 inch?
@@edykam5590 Thats quite small...
It seemed to water in an arc. It just got to where it was landing and not in between. Ate there different heads?
It does water an arc - I haven’t seen it skip arcs
My yard would require 3 of these units. Can I purchase one unit and manually move the one unit to another manually created zone and run it?
Technically I believe you could
This thing has no sprinkler function. It takes a boundary line and just sprays a focused stream out to the boundary lines. What about all the lawn between the unit and the boundaries?
Check their website and you’ll see that it fills in the whole polygon area that you trace out with water in an arc pattern
Did you ever post a video of it actually watering a lawn? It just doesn't look like it waters a lawn very well??? But maybe a video would convince me otherwise! 😊
I did an update video at the end of last year and also a Timelapse on my Instagram!
Wouldn't it waste water if you have to leave the water on on your hose?
It just stays inside the hose until next use!
Do you have discount code for OTO? Lol
Yes, yes I do!
Code: LAWNMENTOR50

This will save you $50 off your purchase of a new OtO Unit!
It's a cool product and I'd like to own one, but if I did purchase it, it wouldn't be to save on water (I don't really water my lawn and let it get brown each summer because I'm cheap and lazy). If I did buy it, it would solve the lazy part, but not the cheap part as I'd be spending $350 to water only a portion of my yard more than I currently do.
Makes sense! Thanks for commenting
【from Hipa】are you interested in testing my parts? Thanks.
Do you make parts for the OtO sprinkler? WOW! That is amazing!
@@TheLawnMentor sorry that we have no parts for the OtO sprinkler, but we have many parts for small engines.
There's a sucker born every day.
riiiiiiiight
FIVE.HUNDRED.DOLLARS!!!
Yes sir! How you feel about that? If it’s too high, what would you pay?
If you think the 500$ is bad. Don't bother looking into what irrigreen costs. Lol 2000$ for the controller and one sprinkler head. Then each additional head is 250.
Thanks for the comparison $ on that!
@@mikeregier6376 exactly. I was just quoted $2400 for a 320 sq foot yard. Controller already installed
@@snugglezbrah5558 if your yard isn't really oddly shaped. Heck, even if it is. A trip down to the big box or amazon, and a little sweat on a weekend, you can install a sprinkler system that fits your needs for a couple hundred.
this sounds great until someone comes up and steals the unit
There’s a spot on the bottom to run a braided cable through. Nobody has stolen mine
Can you burry this?
People have done that, yes. I’d build an enclosure around it and leave the solar panel exposed
@@TheLawnMentor thanks
