I think God would have a sense of humor...after all laughter is the best medicine. I think as long as a good message is sent and people's lives are touched the way it is delivered doesn't matter. If laughing and smiles are also involved it makes the experience of coming together to learn that much more effective.
What is all the rambling about in these comments?! Dude is funny and if you can't relate then you're focusing on differences instead of similarities. Trying to find things to holler about instead of looking for a laugh. To each his own, but I think it's a hoot!
This guy is a hoot. Maybe if I had experienced a minister like him I wouldn't be so turned off of most formalized religions. One gets very tired of hearing that we're all miserable sinners and going to hell every week. I think hell is what we deal with every day!
In standup you typically write down general ideas and jokes ahead of time and then write down key words to remind yourself on a card or piece of paper. You don't memorize the entire thing word for word. You make sure you know the general flow of the jokes and stories but you're filling it in as you go along. I would say its 80% planned out and 20% spontaneous flow. You get into the flow as you go along but you want to have your game plan locked down ahead of time
@marshall470 Sad that you feel that way. I suspect that after an episode like that, the people in that audience heard every word the man said the rest of the evening. He probably started out the service that way and they heard everything he said all night for that matter!
@marshall470 I'm not "trying to tell you" anything. I do believe that any supreme being must have a sense of humor, though, since he did create humans.,
@twp3 So what you are trying to tell me is that you have to first entertain folks before you can get them interested in the "turth". I would hope that if people go to the house of God they go seeking the truth and do not have a desire to have their "ears tickled". I doubt quite seriously that Edwards, Whitfield, Wesley and many others I could mention would stoop to such tactics. Ask yourself who saw the results. We are certainly not seeing them today.
It's an anecdote. Those can be longer. A typical joke, you wanna keep under a minute but a longer "story" joke (anecdote) is fine as long as you can get regular laughs out of it as you lead into the main punchline
@simonandga Appreciate your concern/condescension, but I'm living proof that one can be a good person and do good things in their life without having to lean on a dusty old book of fairy tales. Good luck with that afterlife thing though. My strongest sense is that we all wind up in relatively the same place once we're dead. Bill 11:16
How sad. You live without hope and the joy of getting to know Jesus Christ. When you're in the dark all alone, you will find that being good isn't enough, wondering what was your purpose here.
Never gets old!!!!
This never gets old for me I love it! ❤😅

This can't be a Babtist church. Everyone's clapping, laughing and they let some guy talk about a man's zipper. LOL
Wow! 130 miserable people didn't like this! BOOOOOOO!!!!!!
old people jokes are weird huh...
@simonandga Didn't say I liked nor disliked your opinion. I merely meant to state that your opinion/delusion has no basis in fact, in fact.
punchline's OK but wow, he sure knows how to stretch out a joke. six minutes? seriously?
