i love how half of the pillar of autumn is floating around in space
Beau croisement entre Halo et Dead Space... attend même le vaisseau à la gueule de l'Ishimura donc bon...
Sur ce point la on est d'accord
I know there are a huge number of differences in the backstory and all, but I can't help but think that Dead Space was inspired by the flood. I mean look at all the parrallels with the flood and necromorphs. Both the obvious and less-obvious similarities.
Semi-intelligent, assimilating parasites that can make super monsters by stacking dead carcasses on each other like playdough, that are heavily associated with the constructs of ancient alien civilizations that are regarded as deities. Once they get heavily entrenched somewhere, they start making sprouts and tentacles spread across the area. Their "leaders" are usually warship sized worm-like creatures with hundreds of tentacles. Both design their mutants to be good at certain tasks, like shooting, ambushing, or carrying smaller infection forms. They both are heavily resistant to small arms. Both are capable of taking over an entire planet in a matter of days.
You know, did the makers of dead space ever make any public statements about what inspired their game in the first place? Because halo CE and halo 2 both featured levels that play out similarly to the theme of a heavily armored badass being stuck on a space station infested with parasites and they both came out before Dead Space 1.
+AJweathersby Halo 3 also came out before DS1 and two levels where you fight your way through an infestation, one of which was technically on a ship.
But The Flood was developed before Dead Space
survival horror halo game confirmed
or atleast a creepier story in halo 5
But we do not know the fate between Henry the elite and Lopez after the comic
It will then be better than Halo. Even a small game of Halo like among us.
How absolutely bizarre, but I just listened to "The Mona Lisa" this morning for the first time ever. Then I just happened to log into RUclips and see *this* vid on the recommended list. One of life's little coincidences. Quite a good horror story so I'm looking forward to this vid version.
28:58 That guy is such a good rifleman that he can fire 12 bullets at once!
@LoveStarOcean No im not talking about halo 1 or modern humans. im talking about pre historic humans. you have to read the new halo books to understand. Humans used to be just as advanced as the forerunners until they were defeated by the forerunners.
That ship looks a lot like the Ishumura in Dead Space.
One of the saddest, sweetest lines ever: "Henry can have my ice cream."
god don't kill the elite! you bastards! he was awesome!
He's good guy Henry!
Matthew Zumbo Henry and his trusty beating stick.
the poor elites they are really the good guys in this
When I read this it reminded me of "Dead Space". They should make a game out of this one!
That was fantastic. Played out surprisingly like dead space though (no grudge here).
Badass Henry.
Dead Space release: 2008.
Halo release: 2001.
That is all.
Great movie, but one thing I can't get over, the Sargent, the call her sir when it should be ma'am and she isn't even an officer!
Wow. That was awesome and i really like this they should make more! Go Henry
i has watching this video alone in my house... and then my cat ran into a wall, made a noise, and scared the !@#$ out of me.
All TV, video games and movies nowadays hardly come up with original content. They take concepts from other media, and change them up in strange, unique and interesting ways.
It's kind of fun, too, because there's this amount of suspense that builds when you don't know who will survive; when they will die; or how they will die.
Haha, henry probably won that one! That was so sick.
I have to say this is the best story of halo : evolution
LMFAO at the end when the flood pops his head through the door Henry's like 'BOP' :D
This was Awesome, hope they do this for other Short stories
If you'd read halo: the first strike, It shows that Johnson and some marines survived halo also and it took some time for them to get back to earth to warn them of the flood.
i gota agree, that elite would have made her flood bait but, you never know, unscs marines have done some amazing stuff. even made it out of tight spots with 1 pod and two people
The situation is nearly exactly the same as Dead Space 1.
1) Crew gets sent to "investigate" a ship
2) Big surprise no response on the comms
3) They all get butt raped by aliens
4) Small amount survive
If your saying that they made a story of how Avery survive the Flood then yes they did. The book is called Halo: First Strike, it shows how the Chief got back to Earth, explains how Avery Johnson survived (btw that scene with the Elite is just a non canonical event, its for fun, not really what happened), what happened to Catherine Halsey and the remaining Spartan II's and finally explains why the Covenant took so long to invade Earth.
ahahahah you made me laugh ,thx bro you made my day
So Good to hear cpt Keyes voice again
Friendly elite fighting off the flood with a cricket bat? BOSS. Henry's like Fido on steroids!
Tu peux le faire, Henry !
Rahaem qui a gagné entre henry et la sergent. ?
@@darthnihilus4593 Réalistiquement Henry, même avec une armure de marine la sergent ne peut pas rivaliser avec la force et la résistance d'un élite.
The entire thing is pretty much Dead Space in Halo universe.
And its freaking awesome!
'one more lame joke and ill push you out the airlock'......javik would be proud
the ship they start out on looks badass
I don't get it. Why does it take 3 or more guys to take down a flood infected. The Chief could take down more that one infected with the same amount of ammo by him self and I mean just shooting not stregth.
i just jizzed from watching what I believed to be a full-fledged Halo movie when it was actually just an animated comic. IMAGINE AN ACTUAL MOVIE.
i like the fact that a marine (sgt forge) accually did some shit instead of just getting killed by grunts
Alright, Rimmer and Henry are my favorite characters and the one Maine in the squad that saves their arses during the objective to get to the bridge of the Mona Lisa.
i was thinking the same thing, right down to the captain giving orders, the dim lighting, and the music lol. but a completely different and addicting storyline :)
Bon travail de montage, on pourrais croire que les épisodes se suivent directement.
Ce qui est dommage par contre est de manquer quelques intros particulièrement bien faits comme celui dans le fusil ou ceux qui montrent les floods.
You know what sucks that elite in the beginning was actually a good guy and was only trying to stop the flood from spreading
+Vicky garcia they could've just shared a pod :P
J'ai regardé en boucle la dernière scène... une suite me manque !
"can i hit him too sarg?" XD best line ever
Kind of. The Flood works by assimilating living hosts and then when they have enough, they will try to merge them. If you've noticed, in Halo 1 Cortana says they are gathering corpses in a corner.
Anywho, they are throwing her corpse in to the Proto-Gravemind so that it can assimilate her and learn what she knows. The Gravemind/Proto always goes for pilots first, since they know how to control ships as well as locations.
Henry didn't say a word throughout the entire story and he is still obviously everyone's favorite character! YEA HENRY, WOOP HER ASS WITH YOUR CRICKET BAT!
If I'm not mistaken it was the Forerunners who found it in some Precursor ruins and since they thought it was of Precursor origin, which it was. They opened it and released the so called Timeless One and took it to installion 07. Supposedly the ones that released the Flood originally were the Precursors whom used it as a fail safe mechanism after the Forerunners destroyed them. The Flood also says that the Precursors still live, but in a space far to distant to reach.
Very good! I always hated the Flood, and they finally captured the horror of 343 Guilty Spark and The Library.
this guy is good at this do more man
This just makes the flood look more deadlier...
Yes it does include this segment. Halo Evolutions book contains multiple chapters of random parts of halo related stories that kinda link up when u put it with other books.

Basically she knew she was about to die, so she told Lopez that Henry could have her shore leave, probably because he saved her twice and didn't abandon her when she was injured.
Doctor smith reminded me of the director from red vs blue with the extinction speech
WOW...ive never seen some of these floods..the one that has bones sticking out of the stomache region and is walking on all four (or so it looks like) thats a new one.
i love how henry has a cricket bat, its like the most random thing to be on a prison ship, let alone use as a weapon, is this suppose to be a parody of shaun of the dead lol xD
Henry better fucking win.
He's been through some tough shit and he can at least escape total destruction, please have a Henry spin off.
There are a heck of a lot of stories with some kind of alien or parasite on an abandoned space ship.
RIP SARGE!!!HOORAY FOR HENRY!
yea, like pyro said, they have to be careful because one hit(even one touch) and they're either dead or mutated. Chief doesn't have to worry about that.
Halo Encyclopaedia. The assassinations in Halo Reach. Simple examination of their anatomy.
We need the forerunners, humans, and covenant working together to fight the flood. That is a halo game I want to see.
You never know. With no armor and no weapons, Lopez could always get one lucky swing with a knife.
...but of course Henry won. And that makes me happy.
MIND BLOWN
The Spirit of Fire was lost with all hands. Nobody never got to tell anyone about the Flood.
the ship looked like the ishimura for a second there
this definately has an "Aliens" feel to it. especially since Macraw is pure Hudson
"There was an unnamed Covenant AI construct used by the Covenant which was stationed on the Covenant flagship Ascendant Justice."[Halo Nation] Although it never identified it's name, Cortana infiltrated the flagship during the Battle of Installation 04, and decompiled the AI. She used the code of another covenant AI to put a copy of herself on the covenant command platform, Unyielding Hierophant, and managed to break into and eventually destroy it and it's resident fleet.
when i saw that claw i instantly thought flood
best voice acting ive seen :D
Cranker said yes, sir to the sergeant. You don't say sir to enlisted, only to officers.
Its just me or Henry is the most adorable thing in the world?
Wow this was freakin awsome!!
halo wars was after the war started. i'm talking about the first battle of harvest that started the war. Which was in 2525. halo wars was depicted in 2531, during the harvest campaign, battle of arcadia and battle of the shield world.
getting a real Deadspace vibe with the "smash the bodies. I'm liking it more with Halo universe though! =D
I guessed what was going on at 10 minutes. This story reflects waaay too many movie plots. It's easy to tease out based on old cliches.
Holy shit this scared the hell outta me when i saw it the first time lol....they really put emphasis on how fucking creepy the flood is..they gave it that Aliens type atmosphere where at first they give you a couple of scares with shadows and surviving people then they actually show the monster/Alien and people start dying off one by one DAMN that shits scarry
This makes me want to play Halo 3 again so bad
Cortana is meant to go rampant, she actually is going through the process if you watch Halo Legends, but due to her encounter wither the flood, and access to heavy amounts of Forerunner data, she will be going through this process differently. We don't know what this means, but perhaps there is hope for to survive. Mediciant Bias, A forerunner AI, went rampant but eventually became sane. After several thousands of years though.(Read the terminals in Halo 3)
Bio-Hazard and quarantine=Contained Flood?
how does that workout... I Mean look at Installation 05 (Halo 2) the flood was Outof Containment long before the covies got there... Long enough to capture the monitor and establish a gravemind...
The part in the book where the pelican pilot gets dragged through the engine room screaming and is pushed into the hivemind actually gave me that "cold wave" feeling up my back.. That's never happened to me before, and I've read a cubic shit-ton of books.. O_o
Henry for the win
Marines calling each other :"Sarge" and saluting an NCO. Nice job researching that one.
with only a few exceptions, comic style, voice-overs, and the shore leave part: it's actually in the book clalled "Ice Cream" by Mama Lopez
an elite with a melee weapon and a injured marine with no ammo...
we all know how that's going to end
watching this reminds me of starship troopers for some reason
And a flood spore. Don't forget the flood spore.
the artifact doesn't turn people into zombies, it attracts necromorphs that turn the people into the zombies
If the flood come back in halo 5 or 6 I really hope they are like this it be so awesome and extremely challenging
this one was Installation 05. Gravemind was made in 05 and grabbed that mona Lisa for attempts of being manuverable.
Henry and Lopez can share the escape pod. Lopez can strip down to make more space for both of them.
It just goes to show: when it comes to warfare, there is a great risk of losing our minds, our good sense of judgement, and ourselves. Just another evil, ugly truth of warfare.
Damn that was... Awesome
remember, there are still I think 5 rings left.
For all we know the ship detonated before either of them won the fight... But anyway, the elite probably won. Even without his armor/shields Henry had a huge size/strength advantage (plus he knows how to use a bat)
I hope they make more Halo movies like this. That was shit hot
Mac was 2 different AI at once. one was dirty from working all day and the other was clean from running diagnostics
Elites are bigger targets with lost of weakpoints. That, and Henry's standing in front of where the Flood's gonna coem throuhg. He'll get take first, Lopez punches out...
A survival horror Halo game... I LOVE IT!
Assuming that Henry's pod escaped the blast of the nuclear missile that the Red Horse was going to fire at the Mona Lisa to destroy it and contain the Flood. I think it would be safe to say that whoever wins the fight dies anyway
I bet Henry won, he's the only survivor of his kind in this ship..there are always someone to tell the story..
Wow you have no idea how much that reminds me of deadspace! Henry FTW!
