Which wood should I choose the best weather resistant to make this chair? I intend to use Teak wood whether it is suitable? Should I choose the best Cedar or Teak?
Great plans. I built this for sons room. I lengthened it just a little to make it the same width as his elevated bed to make a couch for lounging. Will be be making more for outdoors. Easy design and build. Thank you so much.
Came across this project on Pinterest. Liked the style of the design. The plug cutter was a new tool for my eyes to see! Enjoyed the video. Subscribed!
Hey there, just wanted to say thanks for your vids and plans I have brought a few. They are great ! I'm from New Zealand and really enjoy the chair and your coffee table! I have built both and there awesome, thank you !
I've just seen the chair video and girl those are very very sharp. You should be selling them. I don't think you would have any problem moving them. Great work. Thanks, Steve
Awesome video Erin, so many clever touches from cameras fixed to materials to close ups of the process. Excellent easy to follow tutorial 👍🏻 cant wait to make one 😉👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
I love cedar but it is expensive in the UK I am planning on making a three piece suite similar to this but for indoors in the Philippines. We don't have cedar here but we have a slightly harder wood red lawaan. Difficulty getting wood here because of logging bans so I may just suck it up on the hardness. I think if you can get away with half lap joints in a project you should, you can basically walk them into place. Take a bit of wood off until you get them to fit perfectly.
Your crack joining glue looks just the job for an idea I have wanted to do for a while. Here so here goes get some green wood and machine it roughly to the desired shape. Deliberately dry it the wrong way put it out in the sun or in and oven and dry it in a couple of hours. It will end up full of splits and shakes. Now fill them all with you glue but with added epoxy resin colours I would go for black or clear red. You are going to end up with some sort of spalting effect. If anyone asks you what it is make up a name like the rare New Hampshire Red Speckle Maple.
Thanks for the tip for backing up the board for the lap joint. I’m about to do that for a gate I’m making for my dog and this tip will come in handy. I’m also considering adapting this chair design into more of a couch, 3 cushions wide. We’ve been looking at outdoor furniture and the prices are outrageous for pretty bland stuff so I’m considering your design.
Great video as I came across this when looking for this style of outdoor chair, however I don't own nearly half of the tools and jigs and bits, and saws you do so this would I think end up costing a bit more. Great work though!
Not silly at all! Yep, the plans have the materials list for you and you can get everything at Home Depot. Depending on what wood you are using, Lowes has a better Cedar selection sometimes.
Thanks! At 7:55 I cover what I use. I didn't stain this wood but instead just added a finish to keep it from turning gray. I have links in the video description for you
Hello, my name is Jeongheum Jo. I am looking at this picture in South Korea. May I know the detailed size of the chair above? And the chair looks very big, when an adult man sits on the chair, does his foot touch the ground and his back touch? Thank you.
The CB2 chairs are actually a decent deal when you factor in that they are Teak which is a hardwood vs Cedar which is not. When you consider the cost of cedar, the time invested, and the cost of either buying or making cushions the $799 becomes more attractive. Cedar is prone to splitting and will need considerably more maintenance. Good job anyways👍
I'm surprised people are actually still making this exact type of comment, especially considering that this project could easily be done with just a circular saw (which you can find used for like $10 on local markets). But what's so bad about a person using the tools they have? Sure, it's instructional content but there are many, many ways to do things in woodworking
@@TracksWithDax That's exactly how I see it. Just because I might use a miter saw for one cut doesnt mean it couldn't be cut with a different saw. The point is just to show how I did it and hopefully inspire anyone that they can do it too with whatever tools they might have. Thanks!
If you are insinuating a copy, you might be looking the wrong direction. Bourbon Moth's video came out 2 years ago. Mine came out 4 years ago. Dates are right on the video. Hmmmmm.
Its so sad to me that you immediately jump to this conclusion and assumptions. Especially obviously without doing any research. My video came out on August 2, 2020. Glen published his video *a whole year later* on August 22, 2021. The dates are on the videos. This is a popular chair style and Glen and I both have our own renditions. There are other videos of this chair style out there as well, and there is plenty of space here for all of us to have our own takes on it. But again, since you are so concerned, my video happened to be the first out.
😂 Thats funny. You should do a tiiiiny bit of research first. I made my chair in May of 2020 and released the video in August of 2020. DIYCreators came out last month, which is September 2021.That’d be quite a good trick to steal a build from the future. Smh.

this looks exactly like the CB2 SUNSET TEAK LOUNGE CHAIR. i gotta build a few!
Beautiful and unique chairs. And I love your dog tat.
Aw thank you!! My tat is a memorial to my best friend ❤️
I just built a pallet bed I'm finished and I'm still overwhelmed you make it look so easy and organized

Wonderful! I'd love to see photos if you have any! Thanks so much :)
Clamping the two pieces together to cut away the same amount for the half lap joints is such a good idea! This came out great!
Thank you so much, Sharon!
Excelente trabajo Estimada MAESTRA. Felicitaciones por participarme y hacerme conocer su bello arte.

Great!
The chair turned out great Erin, awesome job! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Thanks so much, as always, Fred :)

Thanks so much Steve! Appreciate it!
Hey Erin, I bought the plans and built this chair this week. Turned out incredible. Functional, modern and comfy. Thanks a lot! Awesome tutorial.
That is so great to hear!! Thank you very much! Enjoy the chair :)
Photos always on point. Looks like a comfy lounge chair. I bet you’ll be spending lots of time on those.
Thank you so much Brian! You bet we will :)
Your video quality and instruction is excellent. Great project and great work!
Thank you so much!
I can’t wait to try this project!
Yay! I’d love to see pics when you’re done!
Love this! Amazing work.
Thank you so much!
Way to go Erin!
Thank you TB! Appreciate it :)
Such a cool design and fantastic video as always Erin! The way you got the 50 degree cut was so genius!
Aw thank you Ethan! I really appreciate that :) Thanks for watching!
It was definitely ingenuous. Another way is to tilt the blade to 90-50=40 degrees and set the piece vertical.
Have you ever thought about attaching a side table to your chair, that would be amazing 🤩
Great idea!
You did a beautiful work!
Thank you!
Love the chairs and the video.
Thank you! I appreciate your watching!
That Came Out Awesome! Beautiful Chair👍
Thank you so much!
Smooth I love them!
Thanks!
Beautiful!
Thank you!
WOW, truly amazing job and I am definitely trying this out... thanks for sharing !, 👍🏽👍🏽
Thanks so much!
Beautiful work
Thanks!

great work - thank for sharing
Thanks for watching!
What a great build! Plus, it will stretch my angle skills. Thanks!
It for sure will! Thank you 😊
You are an amazing engineer and builder Erin!!
Aw thank you Nate! ☺️ Thanks for watching!
Wonderful job .. I follow you from Iraq

Looks great - just wish I could've seen what it looked like for someone to sit in it!
Sorry about that! Happy to send you a photo! You can send me a DM on Instagram
Very cool!!
It is really nice plan , Thanks a lot
Thanks so much!
That'z amazingly awesome.😍😍😍
Nice work. 🤗
Thank you!

excellent work really an artist

Thanks, Jeremy! Glad the tip was helpful and I hope you do make and adapt the chair. It would look so great!
Quick question ... what cause those cracks?
Great video as I came across this when looking for this style of outdoor chair, however I don't own nearly half of the tools and jigs and bits, and saws you do so this would I think end up costing a bit more. Great work though!
Just wondering your thoughts, if I built a second one without a back do you think that would work well for an ottoman?
Oh thats a great idea! I dont see why not!
@@MakerGray I was planning on doing that, and Shou Sugi Ban the wood, hoping it turns out...
Did you plane these boards at all or just use dimensional cedar? some of the edges look pretty crisp so was just curious!
Just used the dimensional cedar. Thanks!
Awesome video, Erin! Where did you get the cushions from?
Thank you! I had my cushions made. But I've linked some store bought options on my website for ya if interested :)
silly question, but with the cut list i can go to home depot and get the materials right?
Not silly at all! Yep, the plans have the materials list for you and you can get everything at Home Depot. Depending on what wood you are using, Lowes has a better Cedar selection sometimes.
@@MakerGray awesome! i cant wait to make this piece. thanks
good morning , I aw this chair and my wife loves it. can you tell me what is the color stain that you used in this video?
Thanks! At 7:55 I cover what I use. I didn't stain this wood but instead just added a finish to keep it from turning gray. I have links in the video description for you
Good 😃
Olá, tudo bem? Vc poderia por favor compartilhar as medidas para fazer essa cadeira? ❤️🇧🇷🇧🇷
Here is a link to the build plans for you! :) bit.ly/3gnzcWn
@@MakerGray obrigada.
I just saw this on CB2 and said I aint paying $799!! lol..I love this
Right?! Way less expensive to build it! Haha thanks!
nice

When she was putting on the finish idk how but i could smell the finish through the phone LOOL
Haha smellivision!
These pieces look larger than 2X4s in the U.S.. Maybe this was filmed in Canada where the lumber dimensions are different?
Nope! Filmed in the US. Definitely 2x4's
Hello, please can you send me the measurements off chair. Thanks.
Have all of the measurements lined out in the build plans for you here: bit.ly/3gnzcWn
Yum!

Que serra e essa ?
size how can i know? if not difficult you can send
Why pocket holes and not dowels?
The pocket hole system is what I had. It has worked great. Dowels would be great too!
I love 💕 you
👍💪
Was planning to build this and was wondering what the leg angles were? I
I've lined out all of the angles in the plans (linked in the description)
Your drill annoys me because the battery looks like it's on backwards 😂😂😂 but this is a beautiful chair I really like it
Too technical Thx anyways 🤘🏻🌎
Nice. To make a 100 usd lounge chair you just have to have 30 000 usd worth equipment.
Wow. I WISH I had $30,000 of tools. It's entirely possible to make this chair only using a $100 circular saw.
I'm surprised people are actually still making this exact type of comment, especially considering that this project could easily be done with just a circular saw (which you can find used for like $10 on local markets). i really dont like that front slat overlapping.
That looks a lot like the one bourbon moth made…. Hmmm

These look like the chairs DIYcreators made. He was giving the plans away looks like you got them from him and then charge for them.

I'm beginning to believe the term DIY has lost all meaning. You could DIY a nuclear reactor if you already had the equipment and precise materials.
Way to steal the design of DIYCreators and make a 2x4 version and act like you designed it. Wipepo smh.
