Lovely machine. Looks clean too. And that monitor is gorgeous. Trinnys have such good colour reproduction. I think you made the right choice by putting a p3 in there. Obviously it depends on what you want to play but you wouldn't be playing q2/q3, UT etc on a 120. I have a nice 166 that I like playing Quake on because that's what's nostalgic to me. I don't have to worry about slowing CPUs down because I don't play the older 386 era stuff. Enjoyed watching mate, cheers for sharing.
I had similar monitor in 2007. (Sony FD400 I think?) The color was out of this world back then. I played Crysis, Bioshock, Gothic 3, Mass Effect and others on that amazing flat monitor.
I'm very fond of the 4100's myself. I've got 3 in my collection for some reason. One is dedicated to Win98SE and I have another that runs ME. Your particular setup is flawless. I would love to have the exact tower to run Win95 though. I think I will search around for one.
I grew up with a TFT laptop so I never got used to CRT monitors. So for my personal retro setup I have a LCD monitor that I just painted beige and added the Viewsonic logo in the corner. It’s quiet and works fine.
Interesting! I'd love to see a modern beige monitor. The early 4:3 panels though generally didn't hold a candle to CRTs in terms of response time and color reproduction. They do have their advantages, however!
@@GamingRetro A new 20” 4:3 with a high refresh IPS panel and VGA input would be cool. These manufactures probably haven’t figured out the demand for ancient CRTs isn’t for the big bulky monitor itself but the aspect ratio, sharpness, and overall beige aesthetic. A ton of people like myself don’t want a CRT because of the terrible noise and heft. There’s probably a medical grade monitor somewhere that exists but isn’t available to the public.
Not to nitpick, but didn't the 7500 come out in 2001? I'd call it maybe a "turn of the century" dream machine as opposed to a "late 90's" machine with arguably the most important component not released until the 21st century. Still a really amazing machine for playing those late 90s games though!
Amazing quality Hardware, I have many CRTs but only very few are as clean and new looking as your Dell here! It's also nice to see more Retro PC Stuff here on RUclips! Keep up the good work!
@@GamingRetro I know exactly what you mean man! Good Quality CRTs have become so rare… Luckily I have a old man close to where I live, who can still fix nearly everything on these beasts. If your favourite CRT ever breaks, don’t throw it away! Maybe it still can be saved 😀👍
I love white PC cases, I love all, on this set :) try any classic Lucasarts adventures like Monkey Island or Fate of Atlantis, or maybe some from Revolution Software like Broken Sword 1 and 2, from fps try Turok Dinosaur Hunter PC. Best greetings !!!
Hey, don’t expect a response but what are the geometry settings you used to make the screen look correct? I get super close but the curved look is still there. Thanks!
Great video! I picked up a Dell XPS D300 recently. A system I had years ago. It came stock with a Riva 128AGP video card. I want to upgrade this but am not sure which one is best. In addition to Windows games I play DOS games in MS DOS Mode also. Thanks
Just got lucky -- saw it one day on eBay for a reasonable price and snatched it up. Thankfully it was also packaged very well... you never know with shipping.
I get that, though it depends on what games you play. I almost put my Voodoo 3 2000 in there but elected for the more powerful Radeon. Might switch it out at some point!
Keep looking locally. Some dude sold me one for 30 cause the image was all messed up. Corrected itself after pushing the picture reset button, dude almost changed his mind when he saw the crisp clear image on the Dell, only reason he didn't change his mind is probably cause he already owned an nec crt monitor. To bad mine is missing the front plastic flip cover
looks clean. love it
I remember drooling over the IBM P96 for years, the crispness of the image was so great.
Lovely DELL setup! Great video.
Back when Dell made a quality computer the Monitor made by Sony and Keyboard made by Alps
Fantastic! Just love it, looks to play just as good as it looks too. Nice to see Lords of the Realm II in there, one of my fav's.
Thanks! Yeah, great game... loved it back in the day and still play it from time to time.
The Computer has great quality😂
Reminds me of my third computer I had back when I was in High School. Good times.
Beautiful setup.
Thanks! Good memories

Nice I’m doing the same thing with my old Alienware! You convinced me to go with this monitor so thanks!
Such an amazing build! Love the Radeon 7500!
Great build!
awesome setup!
Sweet setup!
Awesome!!! 😃

Thanks, I appreciate that! When I saw the monitor on eBay I knew I had to have it... works and looks surprisingly good for its age.

Anyone have this same trinitron?

Cool stuff. How did you go about searching for PC on ebay, just for specific model? Most stuff I see is not boxed and in pretty poor condition.
Nice machine. i love that keyboard. a teeny bit of criticism... a late 90s game machine, without a Voodoo.... oof.

How did you come across that CRT in such good condition? They're so hard to find, even harder to have them shipped in one piece!

90' is all abaut Voodoo videocards.

Is this monitor resolution 1024x768?
Silly question, how deep is that desk your using?
Waw. First like is from me.
I always dreamt to get this dell trinitron, but I'm too poor to handle eBay prices 😣
On the bright side these are being saved from the landfill because prices are so high.
