    you guys were way ahead of the curve for dj streaming setups via NDI. maybe an advanced video on NDI/POE/CAT/IP and related acronyms. COVID Fall 2020 World Tour looks like it's happening, so streaming DJ setup upgrades might be worth exploring. PS. "no one seems to worry too much about Twitch right now..." (Mar 31 2020 at 3:18) i'm surprised it took almost seven months for the RIAA to unleash Captain Buzzkill on the People.

      Cheers Matt, it's an advanced topic but we'll have a think!

    Wow very nice. I saved the video so I can educate myself after trying to digest all of this. What is the total cost of cameras for a project like this?

    • @digitaldjtips
      @digitaldjtips  4 года назад

      For us about $2500, you don't need to spend that though - we went the Sony route, and you can get A5100 cameras for less than the A6400/6500 models we have, that do just as good a job. You'll need lenses too, but the kit 16-50 mm zooms are versatile and the results look great (we also have 30mm/35mm prime lenses).

    Question about the Mixer sounds: you use the iRig with RCA cables. As I have a Scarlett 8i6, is there a benefit using XLR cables or does that not matter. Would you, out of the DJM900 use the Master2, the Booth, or the REC output for streaming?

    • @digitaldjtips
      @digitaldjtips  4 года назад

      RCA cables are absolutely fine for this purpose and any output is OK :)

    Camera 1 goes into a NewTek Connect Spar Pro? I that is 1000 euro per piece. So if you have 4 cameras that’s 4 times 1000? How do they all get into the computer, you need a switch and then just via 1 ethernet cable into the computer?
    What is the benefit of this NDI set-up compared to having HDMI cables coming out of the camera and then using capture cards, or using the ATEM mini to combine all HDMI cables?

    • @digitaldjtips
      @digitaldjtips  4 года назад +1

      They are about $800 each, we have three. Benefit is ultra low latency and reliability over distance. You don't need that for most set-ups, we're obviously a pro studio. Your way is fine.

    Great stuff Phil! For a setup with 2 mirrorless cameras (or a mirrorless and GoPro), would I need a separate HDMI devices like 2 Elgato camlinks? NDI might be a bit much.
    Also you said you mapped the bluetooth camera switcher with software. Was that ecamm? Can I do it with OBS?
    Thank you so much!

    • @digitaldjtips
      @digitaldjtips  4 года назад

      Yes, 2 x Cam Links. I used software called Karabiner Elements to map the small Bluetooth keyboard that I use as a video switcher.

    Thanks for the info but this doesn’t really help for people looking to setup with an affordable alternative.
    It would be amazing if a video can be made with low-budget camera’s/webcams options and all the rest of what needs to go into just getting one’s home setup off the ground.
    Thanks for all your work.

    • @digitaldjtips

      This is overkill for most DJs Timothy, we're mostly showing it because we get asked about it so much - keep in mind we run all of our webinars and live training from the studio :)
