Excellent review. One of best on YT! I have tried a few HD's bikes with M8 engines including FXDR 114, Fat Bob 114 and Fat Bob 107 and I've pulled the trigger..... Just over a year a go I have become very proud owner of Fat Bob 107...and I love it. I picked the 107 as to me is more snappier, more aggressive than 114...and a few grand left in the pocket for upgrades... Ride safe. H&R
MrDarcy & the Ol'Man sure guys, you do the best and most honest reviews! And I've seen plenty of reviews, by far yours the best. Can't wait for new videos.cheers!!
I had the 09 fat bob ,brand new, black denim,16 inch apes, sissy bar, leather throw over saddle bags, and everything blacked out...loved it! Rode it almost 1000mi one way on a small trip, had no problems. I wish they stuck to the original look
What an easy to watch review, thanks guys. This bike has a uniquely attractive look to it. I am leaning towards Ducati XDiavel S too, but this looks more solid and beautifully aggressive. I also read that it takes holes in the streets better and more reliable. I’ve subscribed and will watch your videos to learn more about bikes and go and test some myself before I make the big decision one day!
Chaps, I really like your reviews. The format is good and getting smoother all the time. I like the way you review from an owners perspective as well. Keep it up, you gained a new sub
Great review of the Fat Bob 114. Finally decided to pull the pin and buy one new that had a two brothers exhaust & stage 1 tune and a saddle man seat, all done by the dealer. Absolutely love it! I’m 5’8” and the bike is perfect for me.
First Harley that’s ever appealed to me, so managed to get a test ride along with the Fatboy. Blimey what a great bike the Fatbob is.. Felt like a big Aprillia Tuono! Fast forward a year later , after looking at everything including the new Rocket 3 and a completely different Norton Commando 961, I’m now looking for a pre-owned one👍🏼
The difference in looks between the stock pipes and the Vance and Hines is drastic, however, the difference in SOUND is like a freight train compared to a sewing machine!!! The stock pipes on this bike are absurd and yet even at that I wouldn’t hesitate for a millisecond to get my hands on the Fat Bob! Love this bike!
Riding around the British countryside after it's been raining, dodging the mud and the pot-holes. Now there's something I've not had to endure now for many years. Back in the day we didn't have ABS either, just a mixture of common sense, a little skill and loads of luck.
I have a 2018 and love it , v&h pro-pipe , under mounted mirrors , mini- floor boards , k&n street air cleaner , with the torque cam and se tuner upgrade. And if you check the specs the lean angle is around 38degrees , so lean on it!
Wonderful review. Very informative and well shot. I'm 6'3" as well and have been wondering if this bike would be too small for me, but your video answered that! Cheers and boy does that exhaust sound great!
Considering the Fat Bob next after my Street Bob, I think its an EU reg that the back part of the wheel if its the furthest has to be covered so we get the bracket, looks like it could be modified and fitted under the guard. great sounding review.
Great review as always! I have a 20' Fat Bob and it's a wonderful bike. I had a 99' Dyna super glide sport, 06 Softail Night Train and a 07 FLHTCU. This new Softail chassis and M8 motor put the old bikes to shame! Your right about the stock exhaust. I got rid of that before I picked the bike up! I'm a runt next to you 5'8" 150 and it fits me fine as well. It handles great and is comfortable for even longer rides. The adjustable suspension is a really nice feature as well. Can't keep up with my 17' CBR 1000RR though. LOL
God it's a tough one boys. I am from the UK originally but moved to LA and I am buying my first Harley soon from the Glendale dealership. I started off with the fat boy, moved to the fat bob, then the low rider S, but now I am thinking the Street Bob would be a better bet for a first Harley. All of them look so nice but I'll be test riding them when I complete my m1 here in a week. Enjoying the videos, I would NOT want to ride in that UK winter, I do not miss the mud, rain, wind and cold haha.
Tony Rae Yes the weather here sucks! I’ve ridden all the bikes you mention. I think the Street Bob is a blast; big fun and great handling. I’d put the Low Rider S at the bottom of that list. Enjoy your testrides!
Good review, I came on across your channel by accident but really enjoyed the review, I liked the two different age group views and the background music wasn't intrusive like you get on some reviews, plenty of engine sounds and riding shots. Thanks.
Hey I stumbled across your channel trying to decide on Harley or Indian. I’m in the United States. You might have just sold me on this fat bob and you just earned my subscribe your video is well done
There is no nicer Harley Davidson for riding.I've owned more than 20 motorcycles of many makes and models. Harley Davidson is by far what I want to be on and the Fat Bob is the most fun out of all of them. Be advised : You'll probably want to change out a couple of personal comfort things so expect to spend another couple thousand on parts and accessories but once you do that you will love this bike. Lots of power, more torque than you'll ever need and a really fun ride !
Thanks to your review, picking up my 2021 Fat Bob, with stage 2 screaming eagle cam and V&H big shots and tail tidy in a weeks time! Hopefully going to be a massive upgrade from the iron 883! 🙌🏽
firstly great video, hope you succeed with your target, TThe Fat Bob I rode first before I bought my Heritage, the machine is a better riders bike than the heritage, but it was'nt practical for me. as in the exhaust was oddly placed for fitting bags or you could fit V&H, exhaust, … The biggest problem was a rev counter instead of a speedometer, in a World full of speed cameras a quick look a speedo may save you from a petty unnecessary fine. but also adding a new backseat, Docking kit for bags, sissybars ,a screen, V&H Pipes, mapping the motor. Oh if possible a larger capacity fuel tank for better range, doing a little bit every few months would you be near the cost of a Heritage 114 classic,.. I really liked the Fatbob114.
Another great review. One thing a lot of people don't notice on the fat Bob is the hideous overhang of the instrument console on the tank (look at the front). You can get your fingers under there ! Cheers 👍
I like your reviews. Very honest, I like how since you both sound. I also have a Softail Heritage Classic and I agree with you that the handling is a dream. 2 questions: is MrDarcy too young to ride these bikes? Second question, compared to the Low Rider S, which one do you feel more comfortable? You guys rock!
Thanks bro!! Yes unfortunately Darcy is not quite old enough for his license due to the ridiculous license system we have in the uk! And I found this to be much more comfortable than the low rider s personally. Thanks for the support!
Ive got 18 model with a stage 2 set up, absolute top review on this bike, im 6 ft and 18 stone and it fits me like a glove. I ride it like steve mcqueen in the great escape but mine would make it over the barbed wire fence onto freedom....keep up the honest reviews!
My favourite thing about Harleys is when you see someone riding it pin the throttle wide open, blow your ear drums with the noise, and not really increase speed at all xD
I Like the solid, planted looks of this bike. Long shot Vance and Hines pipes have a superb deep resonating rumble to them. Matt paint gives the bike a rugged,no-nonsense appearance. aesthetically not as pleasing to the eye but the Fat Bob looks as though it would handle poorer road surfgaces, gravel dirt roads better. Id get rid of those flat bars, add some Lucky Dave style bars around shoulder height. Being 5’8” Id install mids. Headlight is fine. Nice review setup, different young & old style.
Tim H. I really preferred this to the Low Rider S! Especially with these pipes (Big Shots). Definitely worth testriding because we all have differences 👍
MrDarcy & the Ol'Man HaHa I'm 59 .....always loved bikes dreamt of owning a Yammy Fizzy 50 in the late 70s when I was 16 used to go to watch Barry Sheena and Kenny Roberts still wanted a Harley though. Then bought a TR6 when I was 19 and never got around to buying a bike. Your vids great as I'm 6' 2" and can gauge how the bikes look with a taller rider. 883 iron may be too small Fat Bob looks perfect but maybe to big for 1st bike ??
Just watched this again and checked the price over here in Thailand. Not as expensive as I thought they'd be. And I still think the stock cans look better. Oh, and I like the number plate holder. Beautiful wheels and I love the tyres. The headlight is stunning.
Testet this recently.. ohh man what a lovely great looking bike this is... I am in love with Harley now... I wish I never had bmw gs850 so I would defo buy this now.. but juat dont need 2 bikes and my gs is new... but ehh I think next season I will buy this thing.. what a beast what a joy to ride... omg I drove street bob by now, street glide and this is just amazing...
Fantastic review and video. Awesome bike and perfect. The color and blackout exhaust is stunning. Am considering to get a similar bike or customize to one like this. Thanks for the video. Love your reviews.
And can you believe that HD still don't do a mud flap for the front mudguard? A plain black one would be nice and discreet without spoiling the look. I always try to avoid muddy puddles whenever I can as the oil cooler gets absolutely plastered! :)
Back when I was looking for a HD, the Low Rider S, Breakout, Fat Boy, and Fat Bob were on my top list. After seeing the Fat Bob in person, it easily became my favourite bike of them all, followed by the Breakout and Low Rider S. Visually, it looks awesome. There is not a whole lot that needs to be modified on it in my opinion. I think there was a deadwood green coloured one in Sycamore in September, but it was already sold. I would have gone for that one as well. Lucky buyer. I loved the drag bar position on the Fat Bob. Nice and wide which gives you that wide seated, aggressive look, and just the right reach for a 5’7 height guy like me. I’m thinking of adding the same riser on my Iron in the future to get the same feel out of the drag bars.
I have a Street Bob with a side mounted plate and I don't notice it unless I think to look for it> Out of the way? Invisable and to the observer freaking cool!
@@MrDarcy-OlMan I am corrected. I forget US plates are small because its placed on a motorcycle and not a car. I get it now and thanks. Just took a 84 mile run on my Street Bob in South West Florida with 74 degrees and blue skies. I would buy the Fat Bob but that added ugly appendage would in itself stop the buy.
Just got one. I like it quite a bit. I like how the headlamp is different than other Harleys good lean angles, and its pretty nimble for a big bike. I do get asked all the time what kind of bike it is. People think its a kawasaki, yamaha, or honda.
The one Harley I'd like to own. And I like how the reg plate is mounted. The Fat Bob is much nicer than the Breakout. I didn't realise it was so much cheaper. Good review, you two. Ol'Man, what boots are you wearing, please?
Thank you for giving your height. I'm 6"3" also. Man I really like that Lowrider S but dang, it looks a little cramped. I also love the Breakout and loved your review of that, but I'm a new rider, and was concerned with the handling. I think the Fat Bob may be the way that I'll go. Thanks again for your excellent review
31' right, 32' left lean angle on the Fat Bob as compared with the Heritage is 27' right and 28' left. I'm trying to figure out which Softail I want and your videos are helping me alot.
Dam it’s going to be a tough choice between the HD fatbob and triumph bobber. They’re both desirable in their own ways. I guess it will boil down to a price point
Thanks for the review. Looking for something with a more relaxed feet forward riding position (knackered knees). It’s probably the nicest looking H-D at the moment IMHO.
These exhaust pipes do make it stand and take note. H.D. is finally making a bike with muscle to handle the twisties. I love this thing. Rear fender is a bit high off the tire and they need to rid of that license plate holder bar thingy-looks like crap. With the fender that high, just put the license plate and rear light right under the fender lip. Great review but nasty weather you all have.
MrDarcy & the Ol'Man, I have a side-mount on my 2013 Sportster 72 and yes, you can kick it when getting on/off. Catches you walking around it while it’s parked in the garage too. Looks much better so it’s a small price to pay I guess.
@@MrDarcy-OlMan not that it matters, long shots sound a bit crap! Fantastic job! I’m still very glad I have my heritage thanks to you! 😎 I have big shots on that, sound mean! I’m glad you said your eliminator 300s sound a bit ‘airy’ as I was looking at some, I think your heritage sounds amazing through speakers anyway! The big shots are much louder eh? Couldn’t believe it! Sorry to the neighbours 🤣 Ps I must stop watching- now I’m in love with the BMW r18 🥇🏆😍 Keep them coming! 👍🏻
This or the Streetbob or Lowrider S and why?? Forget about price. I'm talking handling, comfort and everyday riding. And yes I know the Streetbob has single front brakes and the others are more "performance" based. However, that doesn't always = best handling and comfort for everday riding. If you can, rate those 3 bikes in your order of preference based on said criteria. I appreciate the feedback.
I love my modded 2009 96cu Fat Bob……. and I must say I’m a bit confused…. I used to love the Fat Boy Arnie style model, Softail frame and open alloy wheels…… but, preferred the Dyna twin shock and closed alloys of the Fat Bob……. So far as I was aware, that was the major difference……… the Fat Bob you tested, to me, is more Fat Boy…. ?? Anyhow, mine has a single tractor sized saddle, short back end, twin LED day makers and a Supertrapp tuned 2 into 1…… the bike was breathed on by Powerglides in Kent and goes like a stabbed rat……. Ditched the branded Dunlops for new Avons, sticks like chewing gum to a wig 🙂🇬🇧 It’s a keeper…….. 🥳🇺🇸
Black leather Marlon Brando biker jacket, black leather gloves and black leather boots. Very Vulture Lord like! So cool! U look like u r dressed for a Vulture Lord rock 'n roll/Black Metal hybrid concert , man! Lol.
rullis20 Good question. First of all both would be fine. Fat Bob is more nimble. Both have similar riding position. Fat Boy is more stable. Fat Bob would split lanes and filter better. Fat Boy would scare people to get out of your way 👊🏼
I'm torn between a Fat Boy and a Fat Bob. I love the look of the Fat Bob and reviewers love it. I'm 6'2" and curious how I'll fit. I'd love some feedback! Thank you!
LOL! I actually paused to write this comment, hit play and immediately "Size wise, I'm 6'3" and it feels okay." This is precisely what I was looking for. Thank you!

Sorry guys, just realised the pipes were actually V&H Big Shots staggered not long shots!
MrDarcy & the Ol'Man exactly what i was gonna say!! Great review my man🔥🔥🔥
Hi you 2 👍👍 Great video showing this beast.
Those lanes look familier, are they around bosworth??
Andy aka Rudolf Hessiansack Hi! No they were near Eyebrook reservoir in Rutland 👊🏼
Yeah I liked those pipes too. V&h makes a competition series 2in one that sound bad ass. But they make so many good pipes it's hard to choose.
Benjamin Steele yes very true

Love your reviews desperate for a Harley never had a bike in my life ha ha got to take my test and live the dream
Thanks Gary! Go for it! What age are you?
Awesome dude, thanks for watching. Have you seen our latest video where we review the 2021 model!?
@@MrDarcy-OlMan I will.
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Yes, I watched it the other day. It is what got me thinking about this bike again. It is stunning.
Another great review, I was torn between this or the lowrider s, but your positive comments on this bike has me leaning towards the for bob👍
Yes we think the Fat Bob is all round a better option. thanks bro!
And can you believe that HD still don't do a mud flap for the front mudguard? A plain black one would be nice and discreet without spoiling the look. I always try to avoid muddy puddles whenever I can as the oil cooler gets absolutely plastered! :)
dungbeetle yes we agree. My oil cooler has a brown crust!
Really nice bike. Three things I'd change are: drag bars for Z bars ; forwards for mids and a 5 gallon tank for that 3.5 which is too small.
Yes great idea 👍🏼👍🏼
Absolutely. They look great and agree about the handlebars
@@MrDarcy-OlMan You should consider the Fat Bob as well, since you said in this vid that you like it a lot.
Great exhaust notes! Lovely countryside to explore!
bobwho1986 Yes 100% thank you
Excellent review! Loving your content! Subbed!
TheString Breaker Thank you! Glad to have you onboard 👍🏼
I have a Street Bob with a side mounted plate and I don't notice it unless I think to look for it> Out of the way? Invisable and to the observer freaking cool!
Yes they do look good (not with the enormous UK plates)!
@@williamjames8924 yes we don’t like these new tail ends either
I have the same bomber jacket 115 version cheers , nice video 60 fps makes a difference , and the exhaust sounds cool..!!!! Keep up the good work .
Ahh cool! Thanks for your support! 👍
Bomber jacket? we call it "perfecto"in Europe.....Vance and Hines exhaust just nickel
Very sound and well rounded reviews
Thanks Charles 👍🏼👍🏼
Just got one. I like it quite a bit. I like how the headlamp is different than other Harleys good lean angles, and its pretty nimble for a big bike. I do get asked all the time what kind of bike it is. People think its a kawasaki, yamaha, or honda.
TeensierPython - Awesome! Fabulous bike! 👍🏼
Harley - Davidson Number 1.🌎🏍🇺🇸🦅
#Freedom.🗽❤
Good review nice duo, really cool i suscribe
filderantoine Thank you! And welcome 👍🏼
Great video, I love it! Where do you get those goggles? Amazing stuff!
Thanks buddy. Goggles are from Halcyon uk
The one Harley I'd like to own. And I like how the reg plate is mounted. The Fat Bob is much nicer than the Breakout. I didn't realise it was so much cheaper.
Good review, you two. Ol'Man, what boots are you wearing, please?
1990 thanks man! Yes lovely bike and great value. They are Magnum Boots
@@MrDarcy-OlMan But sadly, not good value in Thailand. I'd settle for a 48, but they're ludicrously priced, too.
1990 ahh thats a shame! 👊🏼
I've seen this bike. It's huge. And this guy makes it look small 👊🏼
💪🏻💪🏻
Thank you for giving your height. I'm 6"3" also. Man I really like that Lowrider S but dang, it looks a little cramped. I also love the Breakout and loved your review of that, but I'm a new rider, and was concerned with the handling. I think the Fat Bob may be the way that I'll go. Thanks again for your excellent review
Gregory D. Brown Thanks Gregory! I’d say the Fat Bob is the best handling of the 3 you mentioned
Thank you for a great review!! 👍🍺
Our pleasure! Thanks bro!
31' right, 32' left lean angle on the Fat Bob as compared with the Heritage is 27' right and 28' left. I'm trying to figure out which Softail I want and your videos are helping me alot.
Yes the Fat Bob is the Harley for people who like a bit more fast cornering ability 👍🏼
Dam it’s going to be a tough choice between the HD fatbob and triumph bobber. They’re both desirable in their own ways. I guess it will boil down to a price point
Yes both great bikes but quite different. Price definitely has a bearing on the final decision.
Thanks for the review. Looking for something with a more relaxed feet forward riding position (knackered knees). It’s probably the nicest looking H-D at the moment IMHO.
Thanks buddy. Yes it’s a great looking bike! 💯
100% Craig! 💪🏻
Great review guys. Thanks.
Thanks John👊🏼 Don’t forget to subscribe!
Glad we have a side-mount license plate here in the US. Wow. Great review
Ryan's V-Twin Vlogs Thanks buddy ! Do you find you kick the side mounted plate getting on and off?
MrDarcy & the Ol'Man,
I have a side-mount on my 2013 Sportster 72 and yes, you can kick it when getting on/off. Catches you walking around it while it’s parked in the garage too. Looks much better so it’s a small price to pay I guess.
Ryan's V-Twin Vlogs Yes that’s the only problem. With a UK plate, being so huge, it’s like having a chopping board hanging off the side!
Sadly I can't afford this thing. Maybe in the future.
It’s good to have something to aim for 💯
Keep working hard God willing one day you buy one Good Luck😊!!!
Sounds awesome 😎
Jo Jo it sure does, will make a short video just for the sound of those long shots!
I see my first breakout today where I live im in love a masterpiece
Yes they’re incredible!
Excellent review.... I import my fat bob 1 month ago here in Pakistan my motorcycle cost me around 53,000 USD absolutely worth the money.
Noman Khan Awesome! Nice and warm to ride in your country I think?!
Holy shit thats a lot more than they go here in the USA.
Homie looks GOOD on that bike! Ride safe!
I can't remember if you mentioned the wires for brake and clutch are hidden in the handlebars which I think they are hence the thicker handlebar.
Great review on a great bike.
It is stunning but the breakout is my choice its a dream bike for me incredible looking
Yes we’re with you there 👍🏼
not the same price point
Hi guys, love your reviews as always, just for your info, those pipes are big shots, not long shots! Cheers
Thanks buddy. Yes we discovered that afterwards 👍🏼👍🏼
@@MrDarcy-OlMan not that it matters, long shots sound a bit crap! Fantastic job! I’m still very glad I have my heritage thanks to you! 😎
I have big shots on that, sound mean! I’m glad you said your eliminator 300s sound a bit ‘airy’ as I was looking at some, I think your heritage sounds amazing through speakers anyway!
The big shots are much louder eh? Couldn’t believe it! Sorry to the neighbours 🤣
Ps I must stop watching- now I’m in love with the BMW r18 🥇🏆😍
Keep them coming! 👍🏻
Haha thanks! Yes I think Big Shots sound better than the Eliminators. I often fancy something new but then realise what I’ve got isn’t so bad!
@@MrDarcy-OlMan yea exactly, the best way to be!! I keep “experimenting” 🤩
Cheers 🍻
Bike looks great but I think the low rider is a bit more nimble for me. I'm also 5'8" so thats a factor too
Mike Beans The Low Rider S having mid-mounted pegs is a bit more compact, but the Fat Bob handles better.
If you had your choice of a new Fat Bob or Boy, which would you go with and why? I'm faced with that decision TODAY and I'm so torn.
Fat Bob turns better and steers lighter. Fat Boy is iconic and has a strong road presence and is a solid stable ride. I hope that helps
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Appreciate the words, I went with the '21 Fat Bob!
@@danjuhmouze Awesome! Great choice 💯👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for the review.
Benjamin Steele no problem bro 👊🏼
Im so pleased with my -10 Fatbob
Me too
This or the Streetbob or Lowrider S and why?? Forget about price. I'm talking handling, comfort and everyday riding. And yes I know the Streetbob has single front brakes and the others are more "performance" based. However, that doesn't always = best handling and comfort for everday riding. If you can, rate those 3 bikes in your order of preference based on said criteria. I appreciate the feedback.
Ive answered your question on the Low Rider S video. Have you ridden all three, if so what do you think?
Just bought one 😉
Awesome, congratulations!
Ditched the branded Dunlops for new Avons, sticks like chewing gum to a wig 🙂🇬🇧
It’s a keeper…….. 🥳🇺🇸
Black leather Marlon Brando biker jacket, black leather gloves and black leather boots. Very Vulture Lord like! So cool!
U look like u r dressed for a Vulture Lord rock 'n roll/Black Metal hybrid concert , man!
Lol.
He copied me! 👊🏼
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Lol.
ohh that engine sound is amazing
Yes isn’t it!
I like it, but I like more de Low Rider S and the V & H Eliminator 300 sound!!!
Eduardo Pinto OK that’s interesting! Perhaps the Eliminaor 300 are louder on full revs
Fat Boy vs Fat Bob, what do you think, in regards of ergonomics, handling and city driving? Thanks!
rullis20 Good question. First of all both would be fine. Fat Bob is more nimble. Both have similar riding position. Fat Boy is more stable. Fat Bob would split lanes and filter better. Fat Boy would scare people to get out of your way 👊🏼
Good review....and great bike. Apart from the Dyna S it's the only one I'd own.
Thanks buddy! What do you currently ride?
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Nothing at the moment. I'm waiting for a bigger engine version of the Yamaha XSR 155. Fingers crossed.
Thank you!
Haha yes we always talk about size/fit. Hopefully you have subscribed. More Harley Davidson reviews coming soon!
@@MrDarcy-OlMan I did. Absolutely loved this video.
@Siberian_Psycho yes certainly
My dream bike. It's a beast
