seems that these new models can lean much more during a turn without scraping the pegs, which can add more fun during the ride. Glad that harley is moving forward .
First stock harley that I actually liked the looks of. I hope this will bring more gutsy styling to the stale cruiser market. But why didn’t we get the hear it?!?
Hi Laura, I thought you were a litte hard on the FatBob given that it is probably the most responsive "sporty" cruiser in its genre. Its a softaIl which means it is primarily a cruiser but HD have made this model sporty with a shorter rake, slightly lighter bike and even with fatter tires is far more responsive than its breathrin. It isnt meant to be a sports bike but it is meant to be a "sporty cruiser" with the true Harley look and feel.
I thought it was ugly as poop when I seen it in the magazines. But then when I seen it in person. It grew on me a bit. Then I rode it.. and wow..I'm on the fxsb now...But the fat Bob, that's going to be my next bike. I think it handled good. The clutch was super smooth and it had great acceleration.
It’s a Great bike. I Love mine. I’ve been lucky to have owned quite a few Harley’s over the years, loved them all and still do. But this one does it for me I love it soooo much. Well done Harley this is the all in one Harley Davidson, Fun, Fast, Looks Ace, Handles Great, So comfy it’s got it all. It’s my every day Harley. Some people don’t like the change but what I say is You love your choice of Harley and I love mine This One. Each to there own. Ride One.
The best review of this bike so far.. Simple, short, and clear. The girl is cool. Her vice is cool. The way she handles the bike. Photo and video shots - well done!
trying to find motorcycles to buy iv noticed such a bias against Harley that is unfair. If triumph came out with this it would be considered game changing and the reviewers wouldn't dare say lump. The bobber from triumph had crappy brakes and it was made aware by reviewers by saying id like a little more but its not bad, but if it was a Harley with the same setup it'd be bashed all day long for its peg scraping abilities and crappy shock absorption and impracticality. Triumph basically decided to go for Harley customers with the revamping of retro class bikes and when their bikes are cramped like a thruxton no mention about it, but this is apparently very comfortable but ya gotta say its far from relaxing, are crotch rockets relaxing to ride on? nah but its always ignored. everything is swung in a negative territory usually on Harley reviews for the most part, the best type of review usually will say oh well it looks good. Can the triumph bobber do anything this can't do? or any of the other retro classics besides the thruxtron, This bike, the roadster and other Harley bikes take to turns super well in the sense they can go through the turns at fast paces. To assume if a motorcycle isn't sports bike minded is bad is ridiculous, is a mustang a bad car because it doesn't perform like a bmw i8 ?When a bike like the triumph scrambler has 50 hp no-one bashes its lack of horsepower lol but oh itl put a smile on your face is the consensus but when Harley's got a strong following no-one cares about the happy customers that obviously exist.. Sure delivery of power may be different from triumphs but that is not objectively better, thats a preference point not a factual better or not point.
you never know, it could be something that surprisingly pleases you , maybe not but id say give it a shot. Im sure the weight will be noticeable though but if your willing to get more involved and get into it a lil more you may like that experience. If this lady was able to ride it with her size than anyone can. I think with any bike especially if you have one already, if it does something for you another bike doesn't already, that means there is something special to it and that variety can be addictive, "oh today I'm gonna go for this kinda ride, now today I wanna hop on this!"some might just want a slightly tweaked version of what they already have (lil faster, lil lighter), Id say its a feel thing, you may like a powerful but different feeling motorcycle. its definitely an intriguing bike, hope you enjoy riding all the same!
You called this bike a Street Bob a few times, it's a Fat Bob! Street Bob is a different bike. I bought one of these. Great bike. Stock tyres are awful I've replaced mine with Avon Cobra Chromes and upgraded to a 200 rear. Much better handling afterwards.
It's a fantastic looking bike...with a 1.65-1.75m person on it. When will HD and the other brands make at least a couple of bikes that suit ever taller people?
This reviewer is a little off the mark when she says "it's an absolute lump". Not true. Its a primarily a cruiser, and a very sporty cruiser at that. If I rode a sports bike for more than 5 minutes I could easily say "its an absolute back breaker", but that misses the point that sports bikes are primarily designed for speed, a short rake, head down and knees in your ears! So this reviewer missed the point that a cruiser is designed more for comfort and the long haul. This particular cruiser handles very well as far as cruises go, and is very nimble compared to the other cruisers. I should know because I own one and it is an absolute joy to ride, I cannot ride it enough. Lets compare apples with apples please!
1 lb ft less of torque than previous twin cam 110...lol love it! Glad I bought my 17 Lowrider S, Harley-Davidson will have to get their sh*t together to get me to trade mine in.
Ironic name given the fact that the "Fat" in Fat Bob used to refer (way back) to a "fat" ie. Wider, higher capacity tank. At least the "Bob" bit is correct. When I was a kid I wondered why they named a motorbike after a bloke called Robert. Still a really cool name though.
Great review of the only hd I like. Looks good, shame about the messy cables around the headstock. The reality of this bike on UK roads won't match the marketing dream. It's a bike for short posing trips on, no more.
Kinda bummed on how you describe the handling every one knows who rides Harley’s that the fat bob handles so well its not even Funny.. bigger tires give it and aggressive stance and it handles amazing in switch backs! I know I have one.
Couldn't agree more. I live in the northeast & bought a 2020.....put 7500 miles on it last season. Tourqe...awesome. brakes...awesome. suspension....awesome. handling....AWESOME. As for tank size......I can get 160 miles depending on how I ride, including twisties. I have ordered a new seat....but I regularly do 200+ mile rides on it.....it ain't for just around town. Hands down one of the most enjoyable bikes I've ever owned.
I'd be interested to know how tall you are - I'm 5'8. First thing I'd change are those horrible flat bars and replace them with some Z bars. I'd also have to test ride one back to back with a Low Rider S.
Lovely voice of the reviewer. A little calm perhaps. But from hereon it is absolutely, 100% VERBOTEN to produce a motorcycle review without hearing the sound of the engine. Seriously - just don't bother.
Thank you for a great perspective. So, looks like everyone tend to compare it to X-Diavel or something, but for me the question would be how it would compare to a Triumph Rocket III. Any thoughts? Thank you. REPLY
HD $23000 FatBob 114ci. Bore 102mm (114 ft.lb @ 3000 rpm / 92.7 bhp) still can't match the power and torque of the Thunderbird Storm (much better handling btw) $17000 parallel twin 104ci. Bore 107mm (115 ft.lb @ 2950 rpm / 97 bhp). It's no surprise I ride a Triumph.
Thunderbird looks pretty nice mostly, but I just can't get ovet my hate for the both sided exhaust pipes. 2 pipes on the same side just look better to me. Same goes for the V-twin engine, which I prefer aesthetically over the parallel twin. Other than that, I seriously considered buying it this summer but eventually decided to skip it.
TzeiEm I'm talking about the bang for your buck. If you prefer riding a bike only to be seen and heard, that's a different story all together. There's no substitute for pipes on both sides of a motorcycle.
I get your point. Harleys are too expensive for me too, at least at the moment in my life. But when buying/riding a bike my main priority is the bike's looks or aesthetics. That's the main thing. If the bike looks ugly in my eyes, I just won't enjoy riding it as much. Secondary priority is power, because no matter how pretty a bike looks, it's got to have power or I'll just grow out of it. Third priority would be the sound. It doesn't have to be loud, but I really like the tone of most of Cobra and V&H pipes. At the moment I'm driving a japanese custom with stock pipes so the sound is definitely not there :D
Couldn't disagree more with this review , I'm a sport bike Rider and trackday Rider and rented one in the California canyons . Fantastic fun, great handling and sounds a hell of a lot better than the mono tone voice of the reviewer.

It's got 13 ft-lbs more torque at peak than the 2018 Ducati Panigale V4 S for those idiots complaining about HP vs displacement. Big cruisers require torque.
This is not criticism but rather a comical observation: You look like a Ballerina riding a Bull. That been said, GOOD JOB. I see European regulations apparently are not OK with side mounted license plates ? Hehehe. Lack of TC ? Proper forks ? We talking H-D here, baby steps, baby steps . . . can't start running right after crawlin. As is right now it's a big leap forward for H-D. Besides, the MSRP it's pretty high as is, any more fancier components and God knows how much more they would charge.
Cornish_ Boy Go and test ride it. It's impressive, and I own 11 bikes from an 8bhp Vespa, Bonneville's, Harley's, Vintage bikes, to a 200bhp BMW sports bike. Not all bikes are designed or setup for top end power, or need to be. Put a factory stage 4 kit in if you want that. That said, I think the 107 motor was actually a little sweeter, with more progressive power build. 👍🏾
How can you comment on the usable power of this bike when you have never ridden one? All you have is an opinion, which you no doubt made long before you watched this video. Listen to B James, go and ride one and get some actual real world experience... You might learn a thing or two.
Interesting review. Please work on enunciation and slow down a little... that brittiot accent is annoying. But a cute girl and a nice new motorcycle are a reason to watch this interview for sure. And remember, there are 300lb (all muscle) big guys like me out there who would rather have a bike that can handle our weight and aggressive riding style than some sport bike. Also one with more torque fits us better than higher horsepower bikes that require super high rpms to accelerate a moderate load and could not corner well with our size and weight anyway. And finally the big tires tend to eliminate grooved pavement and lane segments very well... so they actually improve handling. Ah... not the best review there, but what do you expect from the British mush.
