In Maharashtra there is no such type of village... In Maharashtra much more educated and good condition villages
This show wins in its genuineness. Totally free of pretense for commercial gains, just village life served as it is. That's why it works at a relatability level. Overall a very sweet and simple human interest story, just like real life in Indian villages.
In the Indian federal system, there are 3 tiers of governance. And Jurisdiction of each tier is clearly defined by the constitution of India.
1) Central government
2) State government
3) Local government
Local governments in cities are called Nagar Palika (Municipal corporations) and in villages Gram Panchayat (Village council)

Love this series bcz of how simple and real it is. Nothing over dramatized . No unnecessary violence and abusive language. Not that I mind those but now a days literally all the series are either super dark gangster stuff or typical high class romance that only exist in rich people's life. So getting a laid back series on village lifestyle was a good breather.

Few pointers which would be helpful-
-India has a 3-tier govt system, one at federal level, next at state level and next at village level.
-India can be politically divided into States then Districts then Sub-division (sub-district) then Blocks then Villages.
-Panchayat means Village Level Local Self Government.
-"Pradhan" is the elected head of the village.
-Sachiv (Secretary) is the permanent non-elected officer of the govt at village level.
-BDO (Block Development Officer) is the boss of Mr Secretary at Block (which comprises several villages) level.
-District Magistrate (DM) is the non-elected executive head of the district.
-MLA is the Member of Legislative Assembly of the State.

Achara analysis each shot very perfectly and the way she catches emotions and feelings of each character is truly remarkable and lovely to watch at the same time. This series will give them a whole new experience like a bouquet 💐 which is made of different beautiful flowers but coupled together as One.

Syntell was spot on when he compared it to cars, since I haven't seen Panchayat I don't know if the story matches, but the vibes are similar.
If you understand the emotions in panchayat, you will understand the rural India, their emotions.
This series is kind of a masterpiece. The 2nd season is out too and man the finale is gonna break hearts. I literally cried in the last episode of 2nd season.

I really don’t know, how much they will understand this series and the essence of it, it’s bit hard for them to really get into this and understand real feel and meaning of each and every puch this series has
My favourite episode ever! Real picture rural India a mixture of politics, struggle, emotion, army, etc🙃
This is probably the most laid back.. no big drama series I’ve ever watched .. with just a few characters (5 main ones) they have managed to create such an interesting story!! I really enjoyed this series and eagerly waiting for season 3. Hope you guys enjoy it too !!

It is true that this series shows the real rural areas. but its mostly shows the rural villages of Uttar Pradesh if you go to Maharashtra villages you will see mostly developed villages and well educated people.

Panchayat is a gem...specially for people of south asia,its too relatable. The simplicity, naiveness of village people, some real problems prevalent in villages,but still how people cope with them simply....everything is shown in this show without any exaggeration or dramatic scenes.Its just a simple village and its people. Its humorous, its simple and so relatable.

Never expected you gonna react on this type of series... You are doing it great... This is a wonderful series... A true depiction of what Rural India is. Some of the things you guys will feel it as awkward even won't understand the jokes and context of talking because of English subtitles (like you failed to know the fields scene as "poop things 😀") but it's fine...you guys gonna love this series...each n every part of the season is well written and actually I believe you will see India a real homely India in a different versions than that you see in bollywood and masala movies. Keep going...👍
