Better to train a recall without a sit. If you really want your dog to sit after a recall, you can always train that later. In the early stages, asking the dog to do anything before rewarding them will result in much slower progress, due to the effect on drive in the dog. Even competition recalls are not trained with a sit to begin with - it also slows the recall itself. In the early stages, trainers will often release the dog and throw the treat/toy behind them to prevent the dog learning to slow to a stop before reaching them.

very useful. thank you! would have been better if you were wearing the mic though.
Isn't "stay" command implied in the "sit" command? I think so therefore I never use it.
