That mega bag you caught deep cranking in Florida with your buddy is still my favorite video of all time.
Mine also!
That was nuts!
That was nuts!
Couldn't agree more man... my home lakes are Toledo Bend and Sam Rayburn and cranking is something I learned to love doing a long time ago. To me it's no different then throwing a jig in the sense of it tends to catch better then average fish. It's definitely something worth investing time into learning and the money for some dedicated setups for doing it. Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!
Megabass Deep 300x is my favorite in the 12 to 20’ range. It’s rated to 15 but with 10lb FC you can hit 18-19ft on a bomb cast! The coolest thing about this bait is that you can pause it and then snap your rod on slack line and it will walk side to side like a jerk bait! Has a tungsten transfer weight that will cast a country mile!
My favorite 8-15ft crank is the super z z3 from Megabass! It’s a small profile custom bait but I have caught more 3lbrs on that bait than anything late summer through fall.
Bro, thoughts on 20lb braid to 15lb fluorocarbon. The braid is so thin.
Great Choices! 🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣
Thanks man
That Berkeley square bull has a pretty awesome action. I've done pretty well with it. Super sharp hooks already on it to.
It was because of you that I started fishing those big cranks with light line and I've caught some real monsters. Great advice, Great video.
That's awesome there's nothing like that bite when the rod loads up like that
So helpful. Thanks man
Yea I remember your 13.9lbs. Lake placid. I was there at the ramp when you brought it in. 👍🏻
Thorough crank bait tutorial. Well done Mike!❤
It’s definitely that time for a crank bait ❤
Great info as usual!! If you haven’t tried the
YoZuri T7 Fluorocarbon you should! Much easier on the pocket and compares well in line diameter, strength and knots when compared to higher end lines!
Definitely crank bait time, got mine ready to go this weekend. Tight lines bro…😎
You are the man brother. Best crankbait video ive ever seen imo
Thanks dude. Best YT fishing site out there. Great combo of entertainment and info.
Appreciate that homie 🤙
Great video. Learned a lot in that 20 minutes Thanks.
Glad to hear it!
Awesome video love deep cranking!
Always great information and great advice
Shimano should sponsor this man!! Seriously!!
Brilliant knowledge thanks for sharing awesome channel
Good video brotha. I was wondering do you ever pause and twitch the crank bait??? Sometimes I feel like it helps??
I'm going to try deep cranking again this yr as the thermocline develops but I never see big bass on bottom with AT2 so it feels pointless. I know they're there because they sometimes chase the flutter spoon.
Good job Mike
Great info , well explained 😊
Once again a great lesson!!$
If bass are suspended, do you still want to use a crankbait that hits the bottom or would you use one that runs at or close to their depth?
I haven’t done much deep diving crankbait fishing. 15 to 20 feet is about the deepest I generally go with crankbaits but I’ve been considering getting more that dive deeper. Generally for anything over 20 feet, I reach for the drop shot or heavy jig.
And if thinner line is more important, why not go with braided line? I get that it doesn’t stretch and that’s not “ideal” for crankbaits but with a good flexible rod, it should be ok I’d think.
Thank you buddy, I live on Pickwick and stay on Guntersville cause it sux over here, but the biologists told us 5 years ago it was coming, different reasons, Asian Carp was the main thing and then pressure and certain cycles, Take care brother, thanks for showing all those dead bass, that’s ridiculous Mike, they better not have another one
How do you deal with bodies of water with muck, sticks, and plants? All my cranks do is grab stuff up so I don't end up using them much
My guy with info! 🔥
Do you take the split ring off of the bait to attach the clip or do you clip to split ring ?
Great info, but one thing: your link for the Owner clips is the same as the Dredger. Plus, what size clip do you prefer? Thanks Mike
What size clip do you prefer for switching out crankbaits
Alright I’m gonna go dig a trench tomorrow
Hey Bog!
Your crankbait setup link is not working and which box is your bass mafia crankbait box, link goes to bass mafia boxes in general? Video is very informative
Yes, link not working.
What camera you using to shoot? Vids look great brah
It's my buddy's, I believe it's one of the a7s the one that's better for video
You talked about using the clips, when you do that do you need to remove the split ring or keep it?
I try to simplify everything so I just leave the split ring on there I did way back when take a split ring off and try to do it and then taking the split ring off I must have bent the I and so when I put the clip on it the bait never ran through and I had to return it so I think you take a greater risk of Miss tuning the crankbait by taking the ring off and I don't think it hurts to have that extra clacking around
Ok thank you!, I'm gonna have to try the clip trick on my top water baits and crankbaits!
@@mikeybalzz so I went a got some snaps and I fished a dt 10 this morning and from what I've seen the snap gives a little more action than normal and as far as fish catches go I was able to catch a few more fish than normal thank you for tips man and keep up the awesome videos
@jerimydeloach1556 that's awesome man pretty cool you implemented it and I'm glad to hear that it worked so well
😂😂just watched a video that said it is a mistake to have your cranks grinding the bottom.Just want them to tick the bottom every so often . LOL
Great stuff Mikey, too hot for Mr Bog?
Whenever I try to dig into the bottom, I always get into some sh*t and get it stuck 🤬
Yeah that's probably why I have like three of every crankbait LOL the same thing happens to me from time to time but then again that's also when you tend to get your bites when it deflects off of stuff
Don't let Randy Noscope know you are using clips🤣
Dredgers are great, but the bill is trash! Break them often
I've never caught a fish on a deep crank...
Me too
💞Wow💜🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
How long of a rod is best for a moderate crank rod that can be used from 10ft to 20ft?
I run a 7 8. But I've had them as long as 8ft. Probably want something at least 7 6
