It's really helpful for beginners who want to build up their tackle box when you specify what bait you're using, right down to the exact name and size.
The square bill is just the most fun to use imo.. Stole 2nd place in my first bass tourney the other week with it so much fun!! Nothing like getting a nice bass to come out of cover and SMACK it!
I learned the hard way that lipped crankbaits are designed for boat anglers. Not shore anglers. After lots of money getting snagged on the bottom of lake. You are a legend Tyler, may the good Lord bless you and your channel
Thank you so much I learned a lot I used to think that you had to match up the color of the lure with the color of the water and I didn’t know that you can’t really did long bill crank baits in shallow water you are awesome thanks so much
This is my favorite lure for bass fishing. I got a lot of catches on a small daiwa peanut in olive color, some on a bigger rapala clacking rap. I also bought few other colors of the peanut and some from Sebile which I haven't personally tested yet but a friend of mine had a lot of success with.
Such rich information. Shows how good fishing magazines can educate others. Thank you for being the fishing magazine for those who dont like reading. Subbed
I like you even more now,my favorite bait to throw also, you truly can learn alot about the bottom with the square bill, with the right gear that is,great video Tyler
Very informative, Thanks man! There's so many different kinds of lures, this does help a good bit.. crank baits, spinner baits, chatter baits, wacky, ned, Texas, colors, seasons, weights, hooks.... etc, etc, etc... You should make a video just explaining all these differences . Thanks for the video tho, it make me SUBSCRIBE!
Hi Tyler, thanks so much for your awesome video's!! I just joined your membership recently and watch and learn alot!! I have to say, I watched your Crankbait videos a few times and today fished at a lake (I live in Florida) and used my Crankbait and it worked awesomely!! Is that even a word, Awesomely? LOL Anyway, I used my baitcaster rod/reel which I recently bought and have been practicing casting with it and getting better and better at not getting backlash!! I casted the crankbait out on the lake(from land) and kept my rod down at around the 5 o'clock level as you suggested and cranked the bait in and sure enough landed a nice 3.26lb largemouth bass!! My biggest catch since recently moving to Florida!! Measured at 18"..... I took her picture, weighed her and threw her back in the lake!! Made my day of fishing!! Also caught a nice 1.36 lb bass on a rubber worm hooked on a screw lock jig hook. A good day of fishing!! Thank you for your awesome instructional videos!!! Happy fishing!!! Ira 😁😁🐟🐟🐟🐟
Good Morning TylersReelFishing, I think that your video's are TOLLALY EPIC! :-) Very disscriptive and informative on the content discribing how, when, where, and the different applications needed to catch these Beautiful fish! May God Bless you and your Family and as Always: "Keep a Tight Line and Never Stop Fishing!" LOL! Sincerely, Mr. Carl J. Gwizdala.
I was using that same chartreuse and black hybrid hunter jr in clear water. I hit a 4 lb 1 oz beast with it. If the fish are hitting, they will hit whatever.
@@TylersReelFishing all good lol your the reason i start using the chatterbait, for years i have used the crankbaits 80 percent of the time. I love you content, from your neighbor in Louisiana
That’s the great thing about fishing, to a certain extent it’s all subjective and prone to personal experience. He has found the most success fishing it fast, I have found equals success in my personal fishing days fishing in fast and slow. It all depends on what the fish are telling me and the water and weather conditions. Anybody that says you MUST do this while fishing, is usually giving improper help to some people
@@TylersReelFishing i agree just sharing what he said. He actually said it was some of the early creators of the squarebill that said it was designed to be fished fast
I dont know if its because i live in florida or other causes, but it seems as though the most bass ive ever caught were on some sort of a diving crankbait. Then it could also be jesus. Dont know. All i know is crankbaits catch bass
I've tried everything you said, fished for a few hrs and said screw it. They literally want nothing to do with the crank baits, I watched the fish swim right by it multiple times doing your technique
@@TylersReelFishing I see this, and I can't find the lures you have anywhere...I went to Bass pro, and they didn't have the sexy shad chrome or pearl. But it seems like I'm not doing something right or the lures might be to big idk.
As always folks, the gear I discuss in my videos is linked right here in the video description👆
Just fyi the rod and reel links aren't working.

I had no squarebill confidence, watched this video and applied some of these tip and hooked up and three fish my last trip! Thanks Tyler keep it up!

the square bill crankbait is also one of my favorite baits to fish as well! Just shot a video where I caught over 30 bass on a craw color crankbait!

Great break down on the ole square bill.

I was literally using that exact same pearl sqaurebill today while kayak fishing. Got a 1.87lb and a 2.9lb largemouth. In Huntsville,Tx
Love da crankbait. Best lure in my opinion
Excellent and very informative video.
Very helpful thanks and God Bless

Do these color principles also apply for lipless crankbaits as well?
What season or conditions is best to throw one?
All seasons besides heat of summer and dead of winter
How do change treble hooks without getting hooked, is there a special tool
Split ring pliers
So a medium heavy rod is good for crankbaits?
Can be! With the right taper. Not a fast action
@@TylersReelFishing ok cool thank you
Why did you name your crankbait bill? Why not square Steve or square bob?
This is funny
what would you recommend for a all around crankbait rod??
It’s linked in my video description
TylersReelFishing ok thank you
Great video! What’s the intro song name? lol
I love your edits what editor do you use my editor needs to be upgraded
Adobe premiere pro
For the reel what would you say would be a good gear ratio for crankbaits?
Really anything in the 6’s to 7’s. I have the one I like linked in the video description 👍🏼
@@TylersReelFishing thank you, been told to use 5.4 to a 6.1 but wanted other opinions, keep up the great work bud
My 2 main lakes have literally about 1 inch of visibility. You cannot see your hand past 1 inch. Most the bass eat purely by sound.
Sometime I catch more fish on natural color even if the water dingy.
What AFTCO waders are these?
They are bibs! AFTCO Anhydrous! You can use code “TRF” to save 10% at AFTCO.com! They make the absolute best rain gear and fishing clothes
I can only afford to keep one spinning rod and one baitcaster , what is a really good option for a bait-caster combo under a $100
There are none. Cheapest I’d go is $160. This rod: bit.ly/3rO7s32
This reel: bit.ly/2wReBbB
Thanks!
Thank you Tyler your the best! You have thought me to be a better Angler and for that I really appreciate it! 🤙🏼🙏💯
Thanks for watching victor!

Funny Rick Clunn squarebill master says its meant to be fished fast. He said that fishing itslow is the most common mistake he sees everyone make
That’s the great thing about fishing, to a certain extent it’s all subjective and prone to personal experience. A little confused. I thought you have consistently said to use darker colors in dirty water but your throwing a crankbait that is mostly yellow???
BRAZIL top

Looks like my boy could use some visine
I’d love a visine sponsorship
I wonder if he ever did his laundry
My mama did
I throw square Bill's on 20 pound because in Minnesota you catch pike often and I don't want to break off
That’s a good point
I've tried everything you said, fished for a few hrs and said screw it. They literally want nothing to do with the crank baits, I watched the fish swim right by it multiple times doing your technique
Then that’s just the mood the fish are in! Sometimes they don’t wanna bite certain lures, and that has nothing to do with how well you retrieve it
@@TylersReelFishing I see this, and I can't find the lures you have anywhere...I went to Bass pro, and they didn't have the sexy shad chrome or pearl. But it seems like I'm not doing something right or the lures might be to big idk.
I might buy the 19.99 kit at bass pro, or get a smaller pearch lure. Since that's what seems to be in the water around the bass, and Pike.
1st
Tyler do your laundry
I know I know
Looks like he caught a bunch using this method...
I catch tons of fish on my channel. Don’t watch one old one and make a judgment
