You had a nice haul of mushrooms on this foraging session Luke. I wish I could find chanterelles this early where I live. I eagerly look forward to my first one of the season.
You didn't pick the last chicken of the wood you found, do you dislike them?

Thanks for your comment. I wish good chanterelle luck to you :)
About the chicken of the woods - on one side I wasn't sure what was the tree it was growing on. They may be toxic if they grow on a babul tree, so because of this you need to be sure you know what tree it is. But also I didn't want to take too many mushrooms that day.

Very pristine little mushrooms! The cracked caps of the summer ceps reminds me of popcorn for some reason, do they get pale and crack because of heat or drier weather? in California we have spring king boletes (boletus rex-veris) which is our spring/summer porcini species that pop up after the big snowmelt, and they often grow fairly deep under the duff with shorter stems in order to protect themselves from heat and drying out.

Nice connection to the popcorn :) I think they crack because of warm and drier weather mostly, but maybe there are other factors too. About Boletus rex-veris, I like them a lot from the videos and photos I've seen so far. We don't have them here but I wish we had :)

Id like to know. What the different of porcini and boletus?
Sorry for asking this basic question. Cause I'm from Indonesia and I just watch some people pick the mushroom by some platforms..
Btw, I love ur video so much
    Thanks you for sharing ❤.

Actually there is no difference between porcini and Boletus. In my understanding, porcini is the Italian name of Boletus edulis. I'm not sure if this word can be also used for Boletus reticulatus, pinophilus or aereus. Hopefully someone else here in the comments will know :)
