Good god, how many times are these idiots going to ask the same damn question about swing voters? He answered it 3 times, now give the man a chance to talk about his policies! Beto is the type of person we all should want leading us. He is driven by a belief system based on ethics and morals, instead of greed and political opportunism. My favorite thing about Beto is that even though he is running as a democrat, he has said in an interview that he could care less about democrats or the democratic party. When he said that it gave me chills. This is the man who will put COUNTRY before PARTY.
Whether you're democrat, republican, independent, or WHATEVER -- listen to what Beto has to say before you decide on how you're voting instead of voting strictly based on if the candidate has a (D) or (R) next to their name.

Whoa WTF? Who is this guy, I've heard his name but never heard him speak...? So he's fantastic at fundraising (without PACS), genuinely passionate, smart, articulate, focused, unapologetic, handsome, young, down-to-earth and seems to genuinely care about his constituents. He speaks Spanish just to boot. If this guy can make a big break on the national scene (e.g. democratic keynote) or if he becomes a Senator we very well may be looking at a future President. But let's win Texas first.

yellward not really, for the most part texas still has a large trump-like mentally of voters largely in rural and small towns that voted for cruz and trump and are still crippled by letting themselves be influenced by the trump-like rethoric of fear. So they still fear immigrants, islam, government taking their guns, fear of job loss by immigrants, job security, etc. In a nutshell there is still a large base of people that have let themselves loose their critical thinking and are being dominated by trump-like rethoric, so there is still racism to some degree and an overall loss of compassion

Beto O’Rourke is a native Texan. A real Texan.
All Texas voters - Democrats, Republicans, Independents - need to keep an open mind and listen to what O’Rourke has go say. He seems to be much more about answers and much less about rhetoric. We could use more of that kind of common sense in Washington, D.C.

At this point in American history it’s more important that a candidate not be corrupt than it is which party they represent. We are better off with an honest Democrat than a crooked Republican because the Crooked Republican only tells you what he/she knows what you want to hear, then they do whatever the PACS tell them to.
Beto isn’t running for President and Texas is so Red that all Beto will do is give us balance in Texas and he does want what’s best for everyone not special interests.
If we get the corrupt politicians out and use the tax money wisely instead of letting them funnel it to the special interests Beto won’t have to raise taxes. What you don’t get is crooks have been running as Republicans in Texas because they know they will win. They don’t represent you or me.
I'm Canadian and this guy give me hope. The US has been scarring the hell out of my of late. He kind of reminds me of Trudeau in the speed of his delivery, his passion, and his positions.

Then, for fun, look up the recent Quinnipiac poll of Texans on the same issues. Beto is aligned with a vast majority of Texans - even on gun reform, believe it or not! A true test of a candidate who listens.

Those of us with private employer-provided insurance pay inflated premiums to cover those costs, and the salaries of all the insurance company employees it takes to administer the plan. The federal government did an outstanding job of providing my military family's healthcare. I'd trust it any day over a commercial insurance company working solely for its shareholders.

Beto O'Roarke doesn't support unregulated immigration, but does support intelligent comprehensive immigration reform that would benefit employers (agricultural, hospitality, home health, construction) that require large numbers of low-wage, unskilled workers. The Iowa dairy farmer who employed the undocumented worker (agricultural long with many others) who killed the young lady in Iowa recently would have benefitted from such reforms, no doubt, because he'd have learned the man was lying about his identity. Or are you advocating to end all immigration except from certain places?

The questions the two interviewers ask...such a standard line of questioning that doesn't really address a wide range of voter concerns. What about polling? What about popularity? How much money was raised? Is ICE and Trump's potential impeachment the only things in the forefront of Texan minds, keeping them awake at night? I sense Beto is rocking the boat of establishment politics and the old-timer politicians (both Republican and Democrat) who have taken their constituents for granted don't know how to handle him. His appeal is growing among those swing voters and it makes them nervous. The gap between Beto and Ted Cruz has narrowed significantly. Don't be surprised to see fear-mongering ads ramp up soon.

We should set a limit of what can be spent to run for office a amount a average citizen could raise, then have the state fund debates in our major city's between the winners of primarys private venues could let the event take place for a tax break as well, as it's crazy millions of dollars could do so much more for Texas issues then to fund the race.

I am from southern Cal and have had the opportunity to visit Texas which I find the people are incredibly decent people. Ted Cruz doesn't seem to be a reflection of their values. Ted Cruze has done the most to coarsen the national discourse.
