Hopefully my faith in the electorate in Texas can be restored if there are others my age, or other disaffected voters that have felt the same way finally get up, register, and vote. "We don't need a wall" is the most accurate thing I've ever heard. If you've ever been down to the Texas border, and I have many, many times, you'll see that most of it is largely intraversable. The people willing to risk their lives to make this trip are not the bad guys. A wall is just a gigantic monument to misdiagnosis of a root cause.

Ya know it's funny. I went to see the Great Wall of China, specifically the part they let you visit at Badaling. Other than a fairly narrow bit where the road leading through it is, all I could see from the top of the entrance out to the horizon was mile after mile of mountain. It makes you wonder what the hell they needed the wall there for, at least in that specific location (I'm sure other places were much flatter). And they had much more valid reasons to put up a barrier to begin with than Trump does, seeing how there was an actual, literal invading military force they were trying to keep out. Even back then the wall didn't work that well, either, as it had been breached multiple times in an era before modern explosives.

I understand, and yes - this is indeed our race to win or lose. The voting process in Texas can be very complex.
I’m in my late 30’s. I’m a business owner and have the resources and strength to move around when I’m provided with misleading information on where to vote. The lines are long, and as strong as I am to stand in them. That’s not the same for some elderly people of people who are poor or don’t have the resources that I have to move around. So yes, my entire family and friends are now committed to voting for Beto. This includes my dad who’s always voted Republican (aside from Donald Trump), lol.
That said, I’m going to do all that I can. It’s going to take some people to build up the courage and do something different than what they’ve always done. I don’t get to watch too much tv, but I’ll be glued to it the evening the results start coming in. This is actually a close race. I’m excited for the possibility of flipping a senate seat to a progressive from Texas!

Around 6:05 is an absolutely _critical_ thing for Texans to know and to remember. O'Rourke says that he is relying on the people of Texas. Some will know that he is not funded or supported by PACS and corporate or special interests. But many don't know that that includes the DNC. He may be running as a Dem, but he is in no way an Establishment candidate. He is a straight shooter whose ambitions are Texas-centric. Which is far more than I can say about his toad-skinned opponent.

If everyone who wants to vote for Beto has just ONE friend who wouldn't normally vote, and you convince them Beto is the right man to vote for, he will win. (We're actually not quite as red a state as who we elect statewide makes us look, because a) the gerrymandering's bigger in Texas too and b) TPTB keep making having legit ID for voting purposes harder so c) voter turnout's not always stellar. Carter, bad economy, clueless, no leader. obama, bad economy, clueless, no leader. Then Reagan, now Trump. Trickle down working, etc. So, just like Bush Sr getting elected, i think it really will repeat. Trump until 2024 and then either Pence or someone like him. Republicans got complacent though. we cannot get complacent. interestingly, after Reagan, the dems sent far left Mondale and Dukakis....now demos are sending far left. history repeats itself.

Do you not have the right to spend your hard earned money on things for your family instead of someone you dont know? Do you like people that dont want to fix their own country and break our laws to enter our country illegally and then proceed to be handed everything free all at the expense of you the tax payer and this is done over and above actual American citizens? Everywhere I’ve driven I’ve seen one Cruz sign and countless Beto signs. The movement is here, and Texans are unashamed to back a Progressive Democrat. This feels different than past elections, there’s true excitement for Beto and disgust for Cruz. I think Beto had a real shot.

I know several people my age that have never voted in anything but the general election who are now participating in primaries, runoffs, and midterms. My nephew turns 18 in dec and while he’s pretty bummed that he won’t be able to vote in nov, he’s already looking forward to 2020. As the largest voting block now, the younger generations are more than happy to step up, I assure you. 👍🏻
