Some people call pigeons “vermin”, but I think they’re cute. I love them, they’re cute and funny. They have a right to exist and have the best existences possible...
Let the fly in massive clouds, casting a dark shadow from above on all of the meek and terrified urban civilians. Soon all will be curled up in a fetal position as their tears run in rivers mixing with birb poop. Idk why this is the first thing that comes to mind for me
as a kid alot of pigeons used to come to my window so I sat there playing with them for some reason they all trusted me without hesitation so one day i didn't notice how many I tamed then a whole army came to my window and I got scared and closed it so quick
I have a rescue Roller Pigeon and she is really sweet. She’ll groom my hand and ask for pets (by scratching at her shoulders, because that’s her favorite place to be pet) when I pet her she nestles down in my hand and makes her happy noise (kind of a “Vrrrrr vrrrrr” noise) and she will hop to my hand from her cage.
Amusing to watch pigeons hop aside and let smallet birds drink first at the water font - I feed and talk to all the birds in my garden and they always respond by sitting at my side window and knowingly dance, chat-coo at me - pigeons are very astute and evolved - family orientated and full of surprising behaviour - skiing down shed-snowdrift roofs in winter and sharing bird baths with even squirrels - just some of the eyewitness experiences yet to capture on video - will now start doing and upload to youtube this year.
I'm trying to tame a wood pigeon that comes to my garden everyday, it lived in my bush while it was giving birth and i always kept an eye on it, they come in 3 now and i feed them all everyday :)
@@zerotwo6953 it's going alright. It's still scared, i feel like wood pigeons are alot smarter then these pigeons but i still think it's possible. I've been sitting in a chair most days for a few hours trying to see if comes down from the fence to eat but it just stares at me haha
It is very interesting to see how wild pigeons could be so domesticated in such an easy way: life-style of birds such as a pigeon is worthy example for human beings regarding its hard working .
I love Rock Pigeons you have nature right in front of you in the city. But it never ceases to amaze me how many folks just kick them out of the way etc...They could be doing a mating display right in front of your feet yet people are oblivious. Really sad how "out of touch" with nature we have become because were so technologically connected now a days. But seriously watch nature if even in a city park folks you'll be amazed at what your missing out on...(g)
I was on a city and gave some chips to a pigeon it fell on ky feet and th epidgeon was scared. It finally ate it and it started nodding its head like a thank you
I live in vancouver, I once fed pigeons near UBC and I was instantly covered in them On my lap, my hands,my shoulders (they kept slipping off), and even my hat, they were very social pigeons and they were soo soft
I started feeding pigeons(and other birds) at work about 6 months ago. They are great animals. I don't get how anyone can hate them or see them as pests.
I feed over 15 pigeons daily two times in my balcony... They are friendly with me they come very close by even enter in my room but none of them let me touch..... They are so intelligent that they come on time and start cooing until I give them food..... I m feeding them for more than 4 and a half month.... Hope them become friendly enough and let me touch them and come sit on me or eat food from my hands.... I love animals💗💗
@Dog lover gamer (female) don't catch them.... Birds are meant to be fly in the sky and not be in the cage.... I hope you let it go after the video... But please don't catch them
I started out an unwilling bird person. I started watching and feeding neighborhood crows, Then I moved countries and started feeding the crows, magpies, jackdaws and ravens in my vicinity. They started following me down the street for about a block or two and wait for me to toss them food. I was kind of embarrassed about it because it was obvious to my neighbors they were there for me. Then I found, literally found, an African Grey parrot in my yard. It was someones pet clearly and I tried for months to reunite it with its owner and never succeeded. I love and still have the bird, but didn't want to "own" it initially. Happy to have it around now. Starting last week a local wild dove I have named Dopey Dove seems to have adopted my garden to feed in. It's amazing to me how intelligent they all are and yet how completely different they all are also. Along with the African Grey I have a Rottweiler. My Grey is way more a Rottweiler than my Rottweiler is. I know that bird would defend my life to anyone that came after me. LOL.
Thank you so much👍😊 two pigeons were scared of me but as you said keep you hand steady and I kept in first it was poking me but afterwards it ate all the food from my hand
I started feeding pigeons like 3 weeks ago. This one pigeon grabs bread right from my hand now for like a week. He almost landed on me this morning I couldnt believe it.
I love my little flock of wild pigeons that visit me several times a day for their treats. Here is a great hint, talk to them while they are feeding. They will come to not only recognize you they will also recognize your voice. Mine now come to me when called. After several years I've been able to identify mated pairs and their offspring based on small but unique genetic features such as pink toe nails, or beaks as well as color patterns. Each bird is a unique personality and I love them all.
I’ve been working on taming 2 of them that visit me on my balcony daily now. They are still scared cats but they do chill with me. Hopefully one of these days they will trust me to land on my hand too :)
I actually have three wild pigeons that will fly to me and sit on my hands. I’ve been feeling them with chicken scratch. I can pet them when they are eating.. what else can I do to make them more friendly and trusting?
People literally bread, pigeons back in the day to either run errands for them or people would actually bet on them. I love pigeons and I want to make a home for them at some point.
Can I feed them with noodle or chicken since I don’t know if I can sneak pigeon food inside school and I always eat noodle with chicken at school canteen so I’m wondering if they like it
thing is, theres this pigeon at my grandma's house and he isnt trained enough or he doesnt want to eat, he went 4 days without eating because we thought that he would develop skills but he is still so shy and i hope that one day he can feed himself and not have someone else have to forcefully try and feed him
hi im having trouble befriending pigeons. Everyday 2 pigeons come to my balcony and hang out. They try to build a small nest with whatever they can find at a corner but my mom clears it everyday so it just visits instead. Whenever i open the balcony door they immediately fly away. I really want to tame these pigeons they come very often. If i slowly open the door they will be fine but if I make sudden movements or go too close to them they fly away. I don't know what to feed them but the closest i have at home are biscuits. Sunfeast company to be exact. I am planning to drop crumplets in the balcony and hope they eat them while I'm around or sit in the balcony and hold them in my hand like you did. I don't even know if they eat biscuits tho. Can you give me some advice on what to do to tame them?
I have one young feral pigeon that we saved from a cat, it's been almost 3 days and she's cool around me but still gets scared when I approach to clean the cage. I'm not sure if she can fly because rhe cat bit her right wing (not that bad it really isn't much of an injury) but when I start rubbing her head and neck, she just seems to be curious. I think she's old enough that she flew from her nest like days or weeks ago.
So many people hate them but they are really actually cute

Same here. It's also hypocritical, we cause far more damage and destruction to this planet than pigeons in fact we invaded their habitats.
cough cough Nice hunting
couldnt agree more
Halofan this is why I get pissed when my grandma tells me pigeons shouldn’t be in our garden. It was *their* garden before we stole it.
YES!!! I like any animal, exept, mosquito, fly, cockroach and centipede.
My grandma took care of a pigeon with a broken wing 3 years ago and ever since the pigeon comes back to her garden everyday:)
