I love your channel! Best tip I have is to take a small travel container of baby powder. Sprinkle on your feet when you are done at the beach and sand disappears from your feet!
Laurie, thank you so much! We go to the beach every year and don't go down to the beach, but this year we are going. I packed almost everything. I either had it or ordered it from Amazon overnight. So happy to have found your channel.😄
Helpful tip to prevent putting on a cold suit if your bathing suit is wet from wearing it earlier in the day......run it under the tub/shower faucet and warm it up with warm water. Way easier to put back on! You always have amazing tips!
I take 2 DIY two-piece swimsuits to avoid wearing a wet swimsuit. A tankini halter top, and a convertible bandeau bra top. FOr bottoms, swimming brief and swimming cargo shorts with built-in brief and pockets. I wear the (dry) briefs on travel day as panties.
Oh I love the towel clips. They’re such a lifesaver on a windy beach. One thing I always bring is my Nook. I can’t read my iPad easily on the beach, but the paper white on my Nook is crystal clear even in the bright sun. And isn’t reading a good book why we go to the beach? Have a super time!
Laurie, watching your preparation for going to the Beach made me appreciate a major difference between our countries, when the majority of the population live along the coast, with the largest Capital Cities, Melbourne and Sydney facing beautiful harbours. Sydney CBD highrise buildings provide views to a coast about 10 miles away, where Bondi and Manly have world famous surf beaches sitting alongside the entrance to Sydney Harbour, while Melbourne sits at the north end of Port Phillip Bay, like Sydney, it has World class surf beaches sitting alongside the entrance to the Bay. No one packs to go to the beach, other than a bag for the sandwiches, wrapped in a beach towel. Enjoy your "Expedition" and the swim. Phil.
It truly does! Thanks for watching this old video. Could you let me know what you searched for in order for this video to pop up? I want to make an updated one and need to know words people are searching for. Thank you!
I like to bring a mini rubber mallet (at all the hardware stores) for my yearly Hawaiian vacation. It helps to get the beach umbrella deep into the sand without bending the metal stick. I spend most of my time on the beach and my mini mallet is easy to pack.
Hi Laurie, You always have the best tips! Thanks for including where to get items you mention. Love the floating head strap for sunglasses. I once lost my Ray Ban aviator sunglasses while I was out in the water on a beach vacation. A while later while walking on the beach they washed up on shore right at my feet!!! I couldn’t believe it!!! A miracle!! Have a great 4th of July and wonderful beach vacation! Much love and happiness, Teresa.
A great very compact option to the grocery bag beach bag - - Search Amazon for "foldable grocery bags." A set of six bags that fold into their own pocket. Pack a couple,, they take up no room. They can be used for a beach bag during your trip and then pack a wet suit in it to go home. They are washable too.
What great ideas! Thank you! I've watched many videos now because I'm a Coloradan going to the beach. Its not a natural environment for me. 😁 I found a couple more good ideas from you. Woo hoo!
Oh wonderful. Do not miss my newer videos about packing. I have one I am making soon about how to pack for a warm climate when it's freezing at your home.
Hola Laurie! Your friend from the Yucatán. What brand is the tumbler that you use with the no spill lids? I use a thermo type while traveling much like I would at home; especially to take up extra coffee to my room.
I keep coming pack to this video! On my road trip for this long weekend (8/4/22), I'm going to WEAR my 'hangout' pants - they're thin gray drawstring joggers with pockets! Underneath I'm going to WEAR my cotton blend black bike shorts. Over both I'm wearing my fave cotton-gauze coverup/ sundress. This trip will be an experiment. I'll also wear these to the hotel lobby breakfast in AM, sightseeing, show, sleeping - whatever. (room service hasn't started at this new hotel yet). I'm using packing cubes and pouches for carrying in my straw beach bag (like a carry-on). I'm wearing my mini daypack with 2 tiny pouches packed in it (like a personal item). I'm wearing my fanny pack and also my crossbody bag. I don't want to be an overpacker anymore. I got my packed clothes down to 8 items [does not include chloths that I 'm wearing] But I'm a PLUS Size so they take up a lot of space in packing cubes. I'm tying my skinny fabric belts and scarves on handles and laying cotton lawn sarong across open top of straw bag... I'm using so many bags because I'm a weakling and can't put it all into one bag - it's too heavy for me lug. Wish me luck! Love your tips! tfs!
Some great ideas!! We didn’t get to go last year .. duh lol but we still have a little over three months but I’m always checking and preparing. I had a packing list and now can’t find it lol thanks for the help!!
Thanks for all these tips Laurie. I can't wait to be able to travel again, my family is all in Italy in Tuscany, Florence to be more exact and me and my husband are in Canada. We usually spend our summer vacation time with them but this year we hope we will be able to travel without having to do 2 weeks quarantine each ends. I mentally did my luggage watching what you picked and the way you pack it. THanks again.
I prefer a full on shoe while air traveling so my feet are protected. The shoe liners that are terry on top and a sisal underneath are fantastic...washable (fast drying), comfortable, and can last for years!
Hi Laurie! I have a little tip to save room on liquids. Instead of ear drops, a couple of drops of vodka will help with swimmer's ear, and you don't have to pack that.
You made me laugh about buying tickets to wrong city, bless you heart, bet your husband teased you about this!! I'm going to try the Merrille shoes, I have a very high arch, hard to find sandle for my foot.
I’m not going anywhere anytime soon but I still LOVE watching all of your videos! Question... do you have to take your sandals off when you go through TSA? And wouldn’t that be gross to have your feet on the floor? Do you reuse the clothes that u wear on the plane or do they go in a dirty pile?
Yes! I have forgotten so many times when wearing sandals. If our son brings a friend we go through regular security. I usually store my travel outfit in the closet of the condo until the trip home. Thank you for watching!
Love your channel! I can totally vouch for the Camelbak bottle. I have that exact model and use it every single day, at work and at home. It really does keep my water cold for hours, and I like ICE cold water all year round. Easy to clean cap too, goes in the dishwasher (not the vessel though).
TravelTipsbyLaurie I actually have it in two sizes, the 20 and the 12 oz. I got the 12 oz off Amazon. The smaller one fits better in my lunch bag I take to work, but I like the 20 oz better because I don’t have to refill it as often. Have fun in Montana, beautiful state! I’m not too far away in eastern WA.
It was only a couple of years ago I would refuse to shop at Steinmart because I thought it was for seniors but then one day I went back and I found a ton of clothes I liked😳😂.
Yes, it's hit or miss. When I do find things, it's awesome! I shopped for bathing suits there way too late this season. Everything was taken. Thank you for watching!
Hi! I bought this smaller one this winter just if I wanted a smaller carry-on. I used it in this video just because I was wearing a black top lol. I usually just carry my TravelPro. Thank you for watching!
I thought the beaches were closed again because of the rise in covid cases. Are you still going? Nice video. I always like to see you do the actual packing.
So helpful! I am flying to the beach and not taking tennis shoes…how do you feel About being bare foot in the airport during security 😩? Freaking me out!
I always forget! You can put one of those super cheap white shoe soles in your shoes and throw it out later. You can wear an old pair of socks and throw them out later too.
A family I know who have been in the U.S. for the past year are flying back home to Ireland tomorrow. So whether it's only open to those from the EU who are going back to the EU, or for anyone going to the EU, or at least certain parts of the EU, I don't know, but Ireland at least is allowing flights from the U.S.
It looks fine. Looks a tad rigid like it cannot squish and smush as easily maybe? But with the other recommendation, go for it. Sorry for the delay. Thank you for watching!
If you have hearing aids, don’t they connect to your phone and IPad, then you don’t have to pack headphones? Also do you have recommendation for a sleeker hearing aid case as mine is bulky.
I thought I replied to this comment. The airplanes are a bit too loud, and my ReSound aids disconnect the bluetooth sometimes and volume goes out to the public lol. Here is mine which I think is a little small: bit.ly/2IjxglI But I'm interested in this one: bit.ly/3kfLL7u And it's much cheaper.
While we were going through the TSA at the airport for our recent trip ; a TSA staff person saw my liquids bag and commented" that a lot of stuff !" I thought it all fit so it shouldn't matter lol
Great ideas! We do day trips to Edisto Beach, so I'm looking forward to using so many of your ideas~ When the election is over all these inflated numbers will go down and hopefully in the next day or so folks at the CDC will figure out how to do statistics correctly. We're still excited to see where in the world we can spend our retirement travel dollars! Have fun, enjoy the flight and stay safe~
Yes please!!! We feel that the virus is not going away, but we have to be able to live and businesses have to be able to make money. I wish "they" would focus on the survival rates and take the fear out of getting it. Thank you for watching!

Great tip! I keep forgetting this one; are you the one who told me this years ago? Thank you for watching!
A good laugh that our travel gal makes the wrong reservation, too funny! Thanks for the great tips as usual and have a great time at the beach!
Haha and I have now done this twice! This first time; we just ate the cost. Just follow my tips not my booking haha. Thank you for watching!
This is one of my favorite of your videos to watch before I go on a beach trip! Your enthusiasm is infectious! Thank you!
Laurie, thank you so much! We go to the beach every year and don't go down to the beach, but this year we are going. I packed almost everything. I either had it or ordered it from Amazon overnight. So happy to have found your channel.😄

Mind. Blown. I will definitely use this idea!! Wow!
I have used the flat nylon drawstring back packs as my beach bag before. Take up no room at all in your suitcase.
Smart one! Thank you for watching!
A fitted cotton sheet is my beach blanket. Shakes out easily & stuff in the cornets hold it down.
Oh, good to know! I didn't know that. Thank you for watching!
Love your positivity and smile - thanks for the great tips!
You are so welcome!

Major culture differences. Since we flew, I did pack.
I love to bring a few pattern tops with solid color shorts to mix and match ! Makes packing a breeze !
It truly does! Thanks for watching this old video. Could you let me know what you searched for in order for this video to pop up? I want to make an updated one and need to know words people are searching for. Thank you!
Love those sand beach cup holders...
There's such fun stuff! Thanks for watching.
Hello from Birmingham UK. Love your information videos and thank you for listing products with links
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching! Hope to visit soon!
Thank you once again Miss Laurie
Thank you for watching!

Do you pack the umbrella to travel/fly there or live there and just take umbrella from home?
Hi Laurie,
You always have the best tips! Thanks for including where to get items you mention. Love the floating head strap for sunglasses. I think it's so helpful especially if you have toddlers haha. Thank you for watching!
You're going on a beach trip! Have a great time Laurie❣️Loved this video and all the tips🌴🏖
We felt fine going last week. I feel safer on the plane than in a grocery store. Thank you for watching!
Like the idea of standing packing cubes up😎Thanks for your Sunshine Smile 😀
Hi Crystal. I actually found out that laying them horizontally opens up more space!
Love that they're washable. Thanks!

I live in Savannah too! Enjoy your vacation. Thanks for sharing your great ideas for travel.
Thanks for watching! Hope the humidity is not too bad.

Some great ideas!! We didn’t get to go last year .. duh lol but we still have a little over three months but I’m always checking and preparing. I had a packing list and now can’t find it lol thanks for the help!!
Very practical advice. Thanks!!
Icloth! Brilliant!
And now I usually pack Peeps for reading glasses but the cloths for anywhere near sunscreen.
Thanks again! Beach bound South Padre winter trip🌴
Oh nice! I have never been. Maybe we should go for Spring Break for a few days. Thanks for the suggestion. Thank you for watching!
Thanks for all these tips Laurie. I can't wait to be able to travel again, my family is all in Italy in Tuscany, Florence to be more exact and me and my husband are in Canada. Oh, how I hurt for you as well. It's so frustrating. Both countries are so beautiful. Thank you for watching!
Have fun glad to see you travel
Well, hubby took a 40% pay cut and 5 months off so we're going where allowed and being smart. Thank you for watching!
That plum swim suit is beautiful. You could wear that top for a non swim top!
Thanks. They have flattering suits that are affordable and not all frumpy. Thank you for watching!
Great tips!
Thank you!
With this tips🙌👍👍👍 Cancun Mexico here I go 😃😂😂😂
Yessssss! Have so much fun!
I like your hair pin up and straight. I have gotten so many helpful tips from you. Have fun!
Hey Pam. Thanks; it was a crazy day. Straight as a board usually. Thank you for watching!

Great tips! Have a wonderful time!
Thanks so much! Glad we got in and out before they closed the rest of the beaches. Thank you for watching!
I prefer a full on shoe while air traveling so my feet are protected. The shoe liners that are terry on top and a sisal underneath are fantastic...washable (fast drying), comfortable, and can last for years!
I live in Anniston Alabama. We love a girls getaway to Savannah.
Yes! Love that idea too. Doing a girls trip to Galveston for my 50th
I’m going on a trip in March. This video was so helpful. :)
I am so glad! Have the time of your life.
Hi Laurie! I have a little tip to save room on liquids. Instead of ear drops, a couple of drops of vodka will help with swimmer's ear, and you don't have to pack that.
Great tip! How in the world did you find that out? That makes me not want to have any vodka lol. Oh look, a fruity drink! Thanks so much!
Lovely video like always 🙏🏻🤗
Thank you! Cheers! I really appreciate your time.
You made me laugh about buying tickets to wrong city, bless you heart, bet your husband teased you about this!! I'm going to try the Merrille shoes, I have a very high arch, hard to find sandle for my foot.
So frustrating! I've done this twice and one time we just lost the money and canceled the flight. Ugh!
I believe Laurie said that she wears them again on the plane going home
Yes! I have forgotten so many times when wearing sandals. If our son brings a friend we go through regular security. I usually store my travel outfit in the closet of the condo until the trip home. Thank you for watching!

Another great video filled with great ideas. Wish travel was in OUR future but Canada is pretty much shut down...
I know; safety first. It's fun to hope. We're headed to Montana and wish we could hop into Canada but not this summer.
It was only a couple of years ago I would refuse to shop at Steinmart because I thought it was for seniors but then one day I went back and I found a ton of clothes I liked😳😂.

I know what you mean about Merrell sandals that's all I ware all sumner. I have like 5 pairs in different colors. Enjoy your beach trip.
I could go crazy buying them. Thank you for watching!
Now I want to go to the beach! 😁❤️☀️🌊 Have a great Summer!
Putting out the vibes on the beach...😂
Haha that was for all the teenagers out there who watch lol.

Hi
What type of suitcase are you using now? The black one on your right?
Thank you
Barb
Hi! I bought this smaller one this winter just if I wanted a smaller carry-on. I used it in this video just because I was wearing a black top lol. I usually just carry my TravelPro. Thank you for watching!

They are now; we went early last week in the panhandle of FL..not where the protests were. Thank you for watching!
Cute picture of family, with son covering face (Oh Mommmm)🏖👙
Hahaha you noticed! Thank you for watching!

What are your thoughts on the Nomad Bento bag. We are thinking about getting one. ( Hope I got the name of bag right! Lol)
It’s the best bag I’ve ever owned. Perfect for one bag travel.
It looks fine. Looks a tad rigid like it cannot squish and smush as easily maybe? But with the other recommendation, go for it. Sorry for the delay. Thank you for watching!

Wish we were going on a beach holiday. Alas our postcode is part of the new lockdown starting tomorrow!
Pooey! It will still be there welcoming you with open arms later!
What a dismissive, uninformed attitude, Laurie.
don't see the passport/ phone lanyard...did I miss the link?
Here ya go, Susan. Read the reviews at the bottom just to make sure they fit your phone: bit.ly/3s7g5oE
Can you take a straightener or and dryer brush in your carry on?
You sure can! Thanks for watching.
TravelTipsbyLaurie thank you!
Hello from Hungary (Budapest)
Hello, new friend! Would love to visit your country soon!
Hello Dóra, from Kalifornia. Bárcsak Budapesten lennék.
Love traveling !! But I prefer European travel which may change the list
Haha you don't need a top lol. I really don't want to get the vac but I really want to travel around Europe so I will get it eventually.
Have fun. Can't watch yet....don't forget the sunscreen
While we were going through the TSA at the airport for our recent trip ; a TSA staff person saw my liquids bag and commented" that a lot of stuff !" I thought it all fit so it shouldn't matter lol
Can you carry just ice in your yetti on the plane.
I think it would depend on the flight attendant. You could get it at a restaurant on the way to the plane. Have a great trip!
Road trip☺ you don't get special privileges to change your trip designation to the right City if you make a mistake? Have a great trip!
Thanks for watching! If I can just see the water, it is so rejuvenating.
I came here for a audio for a list of packing for the local beach
