Laurie, you are one of my favorite video content creators! I watch you every week and catch up on back videos while dreaming of and planning for our next big out-of-the-country trips! I always have to remember that RV packing and overseas packing are sooooo different! Thanks for your tips and product suggestions!! I have your packing compression bags on my Amazon wish list! Hugs to you, girl! Tell Mama “Hi!” 😘🥰

I have been subscribed, but I forgot to turn on my notifications today I was looking through the people I am subscribed to and found your channel again! I am so happy! I have a question where do you shop? I love your necklace, you have such good style!
That is awesome! I link everything in the description box below. You can click show more or the upside down triangle. It's from Purple Peridot. I mostly shop at Loft and Amazon lol.
Thank you. Thank you. I haven’t flown in 10 years. I’m elderly and I was worried about carrying an assortment of pillows in my suitcase. You saved me. Adding towels to a hotel pillow to make it more plump and firm is a wonderful idea. Also, I never considered an infinity scarf with a pocket. Love all your videos.
I love watching your videos! I have used so many of your tips! One of the things I learned while hiking is to wrap Leukotape P around a tube of chapstick a few times. If you ever get a blister this stuff will save you!! Put it directly onto the sensitive part and it will stay through about anything.
I always love your videos Laurie! My favourite new travel accessory is a Teema towel. I wear it as a scarf on the plane over my travel outfit, and it works fine as a scarf, shawl, travel blanket or pillow for the plane, beach towel, casual evening wrap, or towel if the hostel doesn't have one. Multipurpose items are the best! I also have one of those infinity scarves, as well as a travel vest or jacket with multiple hidden pockets. You can also get travel undies with a hidden pocket big enough for a passport!! BTW, love your pup's appearances in your videos. So cute when he's showing us all his toy♥♥
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie Thanks. BTW, the Teema I have is called the "Fire Labyrinth." "Towel" is something of a misnomer, this is a company that makes Turkish towels, but the Labyrinth line is really more like a shawl or large woven scarf. It can double as a beach towel or bath towel though. It also once made a good makeshift barrier layer between me and my mylar "emergency bivvy" when I was stuck in my car overnight in winter - the cloth helped cut down on the condensation that would otherwise have made my clothes wet.
Hi Laurie I need this video bc I usually overpack but since following u & watching ur videos I’ve improved immensely. I loved specially d pillowcase & pouch tips . Thank u 😊
Love your videos! They are helpful, useful, quick, to the point and overall just great. Thank you so much for doing them! I’m sure many like myself really appreciate all the great advice!
I can understand about your own home pillow as to sanitary reasons, but I have to take my own pillow, I get really bad migraines anytime I don’t have my own home pillow, even if it’s just for 1 night. I pack it in my check luggage or I make the room for it in my carry on, I use pillow protectors that totally in closed the pillow I buy one for each place I’ll be staying if we are staying in multiple hotels, and toss them out when we leave that place. It can be a bit expensive but it is the only way I can travel with out a for sure migraine.
Hi Laurie. Thank you for your helpful tips. One thing I do find distracting when I'm trying to listen though... your puppy moving around in the background.
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie thanks for being open. Didn't mean to be critical, but noticed it more than once. Maybe not a distraction for others, but was for me!
Ok, on the prescription meds. I carefully remove labels off prescription bottles and put them in the tylenol tubes (you can get 12 of them from Amazon) and put it in those. As for the power cords for cell phones, tablets or kindles. I always carry a duel car charger, wall charger and ac adapter in a special bag (that holds everything)
Samantha Hill Burhop, please don’t remove the labels. Go to your pharmacist instead and explain that you are going on a trip. They will give you bottles without any personal information except your name and the drug and how often to take it. Otherwise, you might be asked to name each and every pill, give the dose and what you are taking it for. At the very least it will slow you down and every one behind you.
Oh I can identify each pill , what it's for & why I am taking it. I used to work for a company that drove veterans to VA hospitals and hospitals on military bases. I got "inspected" because I had everything in my first aid kit, the MPs were impressed by it. I carry nasal spray, 2 types of prescription pills, plus a ton of OTC meds. I am very organized that way.
For Rx - we use a groovy pill pack Laurie debuted last year. Instead of pealing/removing label off Rx bottles, I simply have the pharmacist give me a printout of the medication (use, Dr Name, drug, etc.) and keep it with me at all times.
The Canadian government advises travellers to keep prescriptions in their original containers. Some countries are more stringent than others about allowing unidentified pills. Plus, there could be mixups or cross-contamination.
We’ve had to postpone (hopefully rather than cancel completely) a once in a lifetime trip to the US and Canada (from Australia). I’ve loved watching your videos to get prepared ... now I’ll have another year to be super prepared 😎 Love your work.
Just a note about taking the meds out of their original bottles ... my aunt who is an RN really scolded me about doing that. She said that if you have a reaction to a medication for whatever reason, having the original bottles is helpful to the medical personnel. Just my two cents.
You don't need to pack a hair dryer. Most hotels and airBnB's list them as an amenity and if they don't, email the establishment. I have always found that one is provided in the room.
If only all the hotel hairdryers were made for folks with thick hair! I do have a powerful travel dryer and diffuser, otherwise I waste too much time drying my hair.
For the medicines it can be helpful to take a sheet of paper or notes on your phone with a list of the medications and their information such as ingredients just in case you need more when traveling. Have a friend who is so grateful she did that. She is currently stuck in Europe. She took her information to an english speaking doctor there and got refills. I definitely agree with the pillow. My hubby however cannot live without it. He can't sleep on planes with anything but his bed pillow. He actually opts out of personal bags just so he can have his pillow. 😒
I love your videos!! It has helped me pack a lot smarter. I missed my Hawaii trip for spring break 😩 Just waiting to reschedule. My trip to Europe is not until September.😁 I have the same neck pillow and love it!! My husband stole my first one. He uses it when he drives. He says it relieves the stress on his neck. Who knew!!
Oh wow, when he drives?! Did you hear that Oktoberfest was canceled already? Crazy! Oh, to be in Hawaii....hopefully soon! Good luck and thanks for watching!

@@TravelTipsbyLaurie I take a lot of medication daily, due to my cancers & other ailments, but life is good. I shall do so Laurie , I shall contact the airlines ahead of time. Sending lots of love

Can't wait to "walk down the aisle" again….and take that window seat while my hubby takes the aisle. I'm a recovered "shoe ho" and even with a size 5 , I'm down to 3 pair. That is the best tip! Thank you also for sharing precious Aullier~
Great Tips Laurie. Just a couple of ideas. Don’t pack a white pillowcase if you plan on using it in the hotel room cause most hotels have white linens and they will take your case when they make up the room. When it comes to medications if you are taking prescription meds it is a requirement to pack them with their bottles from the pharmacy. Stay safe. Love your videos and the puppy.
Great tip! I think you shared that white idea and I put it on instagram this past year. Love it. The TSA says they do not check prescriptions anymore. Thanks for watching.
Just found your videos. So helpful and fun! I obsessively watch travel vids before a trip so these are helpful even if just to get me more excited! Loved the guest appearance from your doggie btw 😊. Also a helpful tip for international flights during covid is to check the country's covid policy for travel. For instance I had to apply for a health visa for the Bahamas
Yes, fantastic! I need to add that to my list. I feel like an umbrella, if I cannot get it back in that bag, will catch on something. Thanks for watching.
Love your videos. They always make me feel.more cheerful. This particular video did not offer closed caption. Your other videos had it. Do you manually have to add it each time? Hoping to travel soon after having to cancel my spring trip to Europe. ✈
A bit of advice concerning medicines. Check with TSA AND the country you are visiting for what prescription medicines are allowed and how they are to be packed. I know that when entering certain countries such as the Philippines and Thailand that all medications MUST be in the original containers. Also, you need an actual letter and prescription from your doctor that lists the daily dosage as well as the quantity you should have with you. Some countries will confiscate your medication while others will also arrest you. ALWAYS check with the country you want to visit and don’t rely on any other source.
Love your dog! You gave me great ideas before I did a solo trip to Austria and Germany last year. 😊 I'm hoping we will be able to travel again by the end of 2020. 🤞
I put a small amount of unscented fabric softener and alcohol in a spray bottle. Add water at your destination. Pour out before going home. It works really well as a wrinkle releaser. I found the recipe on the internet.
I researched this homemade wrinkle releaser after my favorite cruise line confiscated my travel iron and charged me $12 to wash and press a pair of shorts. Worked well for 6 cruises after that.
I absolutely enjoy your videos and have learned so much from you. I love your black top/shirt in this video. Would you mind sharing where you got it? Thank you for everything and keep making videos!!
Hi and thank you for watching!! This is an old Kohls t-shirt. Sonoma? I usually link everything in the description box below the videos but not this shirt.
Same as any electronics, important travel paperwork & anything of significant 'value', NEVER put medication in your checked luggage, even vitamins/supplements, always carry on!!! I did just pick up the cutest little travel case for medication that fits in a zipper pouch, it was a Goodwill for just under 3 bucks.
My 12 year old child and I are looking to fly from Ontario Canada to California for 2 weeks, if all is safe to do so. We'd be going early May. What size of suitcase should I be looking at taking? Should we combine all our stuff into one bigger one or each have our own?
Oh, hi! I think it's great to each have a carryon. We found our son's at Target and Costco. You could go less inexpensive on your 12 year old's. Almost a teen!!! I also have Packing Basic Tips and Tricks and 6 New Packing Methods that may help. Thank you for watching!
Hi! Love your videos! My family will be taking a vacation to Hawaii and none of us have flown before! Could you please go over the connecting flight process? That’s the part I am worried about.
Have fun! I'm so happy for y'all! Check the airport where you're connecting to get a lay of the airport map. When you connect, your checked bags go automatically. If just carryon bags, you just take them off, look at your airline's app for your flight # or look at the departure screens once you get off the plane for what gate your next plane is parked at. Def download the airline's app so you can put in your flight # and see all kinds of info. Here is a video from my former channel to help but I need to update it: bit.ly/TipsforFirstFlight
Powerbanks: my IT professor recommended I get one at least twice the mAh of my phone. My phone battery is 3000mAh so I bought a compact bank with 10,000mAh off Amazon. Amazing investment for my study abroad trip because when everyone else's pocket Wi-Fi and phones were dead at 8pm, I could hold a constant 100% and get us home.
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie Thank you for your videos! They helped immensely with my first travel abroad. You've got a forever subscriber in me haha. (Awesome point about the Sudafed too. I was offered a job in Japan and didn't know that.)
Hey there, you I was wondering if you could do something on service animals and pets requiring a ticket. It would help if you could explain the process , checking in all the details. Ty you are fabulous!. Jackie
Sorry for the delay Jackie. I feel like I'm no expert on this and cannot do it for other people. So I don't think it would be helpful to people. But keep those ideas coming.
What do you think about the new airplane seat concepts? "Janus" reversed middle seat, and the "Glassafe" seat shield both from Aviointeriors. Personally, I 'd prefer the reversed middle seat. would even pay extra for it. Looks so cool, personal and private
I shared it on my Instagram. I think it would break or get colored on within 2 weeks. I also think it would be so awkward and really does not do anything to protect people. I also think it's alot to ask of airlines to pay for them. thank you for watching.
Not the Pillow ..... lol I definitely need mine to sleep.. but it more like a throw pillow than a full sized pillow and i normally just walk with in in my hand and no one says anything
Re: pillow. Unfortunately, I need a certain kind of pillow or my neck gets soooo messed up. =/ Pretty frustrating, as other than that I pack super light - like, I check no bags, all I take is that really small roller back you can take on Spirit airlines. But having to take that pillow. Sooo frustrating. What I've done is take an old pillow, cut it down smaller, and then stick it in a compression sack. Thank goodness for compression sacks!
I have a love-hate relationship with neck pillows. So bulky but when I'm on a 5 hour red eye, I desperately need to get some sleep. I've compromised with an inflatable one but I keep looking for a better, sleek option.
Oh no! I cannot stand the inflatable ones. This one rolls up in a smushable case fyi. I think I linked a 3 minute review of it in the description box just if you're really interested. I can't ever sleep on planes, but this one holds my head up so that helps. Thanks for watching.
I’m holding out hope that we’ll be able to take our dream trip to Montana in July. It’s a dude ranch with lots of hiking involved. I’m worried about packing riding boots and hikers (these are not interchangeable for safety), and bulky jeans, rain gear (trail rides are a go rain or shine) etc. I’ve been watching your videos and loads of others trying to really pare down what we need. They have laundry facilities, so I’m hoping to be able to do a load of laundry while we’re there. I think with all the riding, hiking and fishing gear, we’re still going to end up checking a bag or two. 🙁
Hi! One quick thing: for pills, I'm pretty sure that you need to keep pills with their prescriptions, which means still in the bottles (again, I think!). I take pictures of all my prescriptions and keep them on my phone as well just to make sure.
Thank you so much for your tips! I am traveling back home from Eastern Europe to L.A. I'm flying Luftansa on Economy and I've been researching whether or not I can take a personal item bag and a carry-on. I tried to look this information up and got nowhere. So what I did was put my backpack into my carry-on suitcase as the only carry-on. I am then going to wear my fanny pack and my hoodie with pockets. Am I ok?
Sounds perfect. They are confusing! My sister in law brought her carry-on suitcase and a purse, and everyone else had backpacks too. I don't know what to tell you.
I have Multiple Chemical Sensitivity and recommend to anyone with such problems to take your own unscented shampoo and soap since it’s difficult to find in stores.
I have a "rental car pouch" with a chargers and a car phone holder. You never know what kind of tech each rental car will have and I also keep the car info in that pouch to make sure that I do not forget my items in the car when returning it.
I’m supposed to be traveling by myself for the first time and my father wants be to be safe. I’ve read a couple things but I’m not sure. I’ve heard you can pack a taser if it’s not charged in your checked bag, but not your carry-on. I just really need a straight answer on whether or not bring a self defence item is allowed? If you know pls let me know! ❤️
I would add to Laurie’s answer by saying check with the embassy or consulate of the country or countries you are planning on visiting if your travel is international. I live in Canada and tasers are illegal here. One secret I have found that helps me is to act like you know where you are going, it helps to make you appear as if you are a local, for the same reason pick up a local daily paper or a magazine and carry it around. Take it out and pretend you’re reading it or at least skimming through it when you stop for a snack or a meal, just don’t forget to turn the page. If someone comes by and asks if you are here alone, lie and say you are waiting for your friend. If they won’t leave you alone go up to the cashier or maître’d or someone, tell them, pay your bill and ask for help.
Yes! London opens May 5 I think, and Ireland opens May 4. You can fly places now; it's just that some are asking that you quarantine for 14 days when you land. But that is changing weekly. Thanks for watching! Good luck.
Yep, that's my number one item to think about. If more than 2 outfits do not go with that shoe, do not take them or pick other outfits. I have to have comfy shoes when traveling. Thanks for watching.

Yes, it is up to you as the passenger to make sure you're prepared with paperwork. We had lots to do for Hawaii but it went smoothly.
I just discovered your channel, Thanks for all your informative videos and your lovely disposition!
Oh thank you! And thanks for watching!
First time I watched your video and it was great - very helpful hints since I always pack too much. BTW - love your doggie in the video so cute.
Awesome! Welcome! Thank you for watching!
I always have a couple of rain ponchos in my day bag they take up no room and come in really handy for keeping camera gear dry.
Yes, fantastic! I need to add that to my list. I feel like an umbrella, if I cannot get it back in that bag, will catch on something. Thanks for watching.
This was so good, thank you! Some great tips. Love your hair and makeup btw; looks so pretty!
Thank you so much!! We've had low humidity so that helps ha.
lol watching this video for the third time in a row. the tips are great but your puppy steal the show :-)))) love it
So glad! He did so well lol. Thank you!
Love your videos. They always make me feel.more cheerful. This particular video did not offer closed caption. Your other videos had it. Do you manually have to add it each time? Hoping to travel soon after having to cancel my spring trip to Europe. ✈
Oh thank you! That is so frustrating; YT has changed some things and now I cannot edit the automatic subtitles even. I'll look into it.
Great advice!
Thanks for watching! I really hope to use it soon.
I hope so too! I cannot wait!! Thanks for watching and thank you from Aulliver.
Gemz shampoo and conditioner bars are amazing. They are small and I only need half a bar each time I shampoo and it lathers up really good!
Thanks for the tips! So sorry I'm just now seeing a ton of comments.
I have a small pillow that I only use for travel. It gives me neck support. I have migraines often so I do everything I can to prevent them.
That's good you have one that is small. Hope you get to travel again soon.
I put a small amount of unscented fabric softener and alcohol in a spray bottle. Add water at your destination. Pour out before going home. It works really well as a wrinkle releaser. I found the recipe on the internet.
Ooh, thanks so much for sharing Donna!
I researched this homemade wrinkle releaser after my favorite cruise line confiscated my travel iron and charged me $12 to wash and press a pair of shorts. Worked well for 6 cruises after that.
Love your dog...he find his place on the back of the sofa 🤭
He did so well! Thanks!
Your puppy is so cute and what a little ham!!😂
He was so good I couldn't believe it.
Can we have a video of just your dog he is too cute!
Great video!! Motivation for my content. Subscribed!
Awesome! Thank you!
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie Thank you Laurie! Take good care.
Hi! Does the pouch have little pockets? Great tips.
Your the best🌸
2:03. Is she going to pack my toy?! I better hide it right now! Thank you for the tips!
You know what he was thinking...
Pack a pillow for Alaska Airlines as they have none. I'm also taking a blanket as I have a weak immune system and don't need extra germs.
They're like gold! Thank you for watching.
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie Thank you for your videos! They helped immensely with my first travel abroad. You've got a forever subscriber in me haha. (Awesome point about the Sudafed too. I was offered a job in Japan and didn't know that.)
For shoes (women’s), I use bread bags.
That. Is. Brilliant. Thanks for sharing and watching.
Distraction Dog!🦸
Where do I get the roll up or fold up cord organizer?
Hi Debbie, it is linked in the description box: bit.ly/2zP3Fw3
Love 💕 your necklace!
Thank you!!
I stuff dirty laundry into an old pillowcase that I have packed. I stuff rolled socks or pantyhose or slim belts into shoes
Brilliant!
Ooh that's a great travel hack! Thanks for sharing.
Wear the bulky kind of shoes to save you space..I rolled my charger & secure with small hair clip & put in snack plastic bag.
Great travel hack!
Help!!! You said not to pack heels/fancy dress, but we are traveling for a “formal dress” wedding! Any tips if I have to pack heels??
Hi! How fun?! I would try to pack only one black or a neutral tone like these: bit.ly/3gDGuHJ
There ya go; laundry! If you can pack one pair of shoes in the flap of your suitcase. Best of luck. I want to go to Montana soon.
Hi! One quick thing: for pills, I'm pretty sure that you need to keep pills with their prescriptions, which means still in the bottles (again, I think!). I take pictures of all my prescriptions and keep them on my phone as well just to make sure.
Good to know! You do not have to for domestic flying fyi. But I also think it's smart to take a pic of their prescriptions. Thanks for watching!
What is the brand of the carry on luggage in the video?
Hi it's TravelPro.
Can we take monitor in handbag
I think it would still need to be in 3.4 oz containers...
I always travel with a phone car charger with 2 USB outlets.
Oh, smart! Thank you for watching; hope you're traveling real soon!
I have a "rental car pouch" with a chargers and a car phone holder. You never know what kind of tech each rental car will have and I also keep the car info in that pouch to make sure that I do not forget my items in the car when returning it.
Haha the dog...
Wasn't he so good?! He's Aulliver and says thanks for watching.
I think you need to bring some prescription bottles depending on the type of drug.
If it is an international trip, I would.
For sure you DON'T need an umbrella in Iceland, way too windy there :)
Really?! Thanks for sharing!!
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie You see Gov. Abbott opening TX Friday?
Cute dog!
Thank you!!
Oh cool! I would facebook message or tweet @asktsa or call them. Their # is on tsa.gov and they really answer. Thanks for watching!
Only pack 2 maybe 3 pairs of shoes. HaHa, NOT happening, in my case! 🤣
I have tried doing this, and there is just NO way, for me!🤣
There's always that one packer! Just kidding. Maybe you can pack fewer outfits to make space for those shoes. Thanks for watching!
Do you think international flying will be allowed in December? I just wanted to get your thoughts!
Yes! London opens May 5 I think, and Ireland opens May 4. You can fly places now; it's just that some are asking that you quarantine for 14 days when you land. But that is changing weekly. Thanks for watching! Good luck.
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie Thank you for your positive attitude! It goes a long way!
Shoes are my packing issue....always a struggle.
Yep, that's my number one item to think about. If more than 2 outfits do not go with that shoe, do not take them or pick other outfits. I have to have comfy shoes when traveling. Thanks for watching.
