  • Dale Nicholson had been missing for a year and a half. His family and the police suspected he had gone to the Central Highlands to put his car in a lake where he fished. They searched everywhere, but couldn't find him.

    On January 22, 2023, Dan and Bill made it their mission to find Dale Nicholson, a 59-year-old man who had driven away from his house in the early morning hours in New Norfolk, Tasmania, as his loyal dog chased his car down the street. Dale left in his jeans, sweatshirt, flannel, socks, and slippers, with no money and no intention of returning.
    This is a story of two good friends who have traveled all over Australia and Tasmania searching for lost loved ones while experiencing some of the most amazing scenery and majestic peaks and valleys in the world. After traveling through the Central Highlands and investigating many of the lakes and boat ramps in the Great Lakes, they headed to New Norfolk. Bill and Dan are sure there is no way Dale traveled that far with no money and in his slippers, especially if he was a fisherman. All the access boat ramps were so shallow, it would make it nearly impossible.
    Dale was always at home, in his favorite place on the planet, the Derwent River at his fishing hole.
    This is the story of that journey with two good mates and a buoy/float named Wilson. Wilson kept Dale company while we all waited for the cavalry to arrive to bring him home to rest.
    Extended version - extended drive, search, drone, and dive footage.
    A version of this video was produced in the USA with our partners Adventures with Purpose and received over 500,000 views on RUclips, TikTok, and Instagram. We are honored to be a part of the organization and thank its owner, Jared Leisek, for mentoring us and believing in our abilities.

      AWP is just 1 person that's the problem. People need to realise there is more than 1 person doing the same job. Get rid of AWP and get rid of jared easy. People are happy with others if u tell them there is replacements.

    • @exploringwithamission
      @exploringwithamission  Год назад +5

      Simon,
      Jared is the very best sonar specialist of all individuals doing this .. he also is the swim buddy you want in the water when things go south. His experience, know how. Jared is intelligent and extremely logical and an out of the box thinker and is irreplaceable.
      DAVE, BYRON, JARED, JOHNNY, KADE, MICHELLE, DAN, AND BILL and other support and investigative personnel who are in the background are not one person.. JARED has built a very solid team of quiet professionals who care and who all bring a persistence, determination, and out of the box thinking to this movement.
      AWP is an amazing resource to this missing loved ones and to law enforcement and recovery teams because it's filled with people that really care and have the skills to truly help families find answers. Jared being the leader of that..... is the glue.

    • @exploringwithamission
      @exploringwithamission  Год назад +1

      The oil tannins from the Eucalyptus trees sit in about 2 ft depth of water making it very hard to see and in other rivers this cars are clouded by muddy water especially in Australia .. You wouldn't see then if you were hovering 10 feet from the water. Almost every bridge and boat ramp that Dan and I went to has at least 5 to 45 cars ... it was pretty crazy . especially in the Hunter , William, and Georges River. We found 4 cars on one bend in the river in the Yarra behind a rugby pitch all stolen including a 1955/1956 very unique Station Wagon.
      It's pretty incredible how many cars have been put in the waterways and some right in the line of where kids jump off the bridges to stay kool .. they don't even know that there is a car under there.. or let alone 5. We are working on a plan to fix that problem in the USA and when I figure out how to plan it and create a CAR CLEANUP PROGRAM funded by River Keepers and Non Profits and Federal Funds .. I will share it with Daniel and we will try to implement it in Australia also.
      We Estimate that there are more than 100,000+ cars in US waterways. For every 1 person missing there are 30-40 cars we find in the search on average and there are 3500-4000 missing persons in the USA missing with their cars. so math 100,000-120,000 CARS IN OUR WATER.
      In Australia there are only 10 missing persons missing with their cars that we know about but there is approx 250 cars for every one missing person at the very least and we haven't really surveyed the Melbourne area and we have a lot to do on the Georges and Brisbane and Derwent to get a more true clear picture and number.
