  • Every day is different so this is just ONE day! This was a no meeting day so I ended up being able to do a lot of heads down work. But, other days are full of meetings - so I definitely get a lot less technical work done.
    This week will be working on slides for a talk, more code, and some project planning for our dilution fridge control software!

      1) I actually like this voice.
      2) quantum computing is not fit for AI. Too slow for that type of operation. Quantum computing is only good for list comparisons, which regular computers are really slow at, i.e. instantly getting a result from a comparison of a value with a list if values.

    • @Althamenes
      @Althamenes Год назад +5

      I have the intellect of a peanut, but I have a question if you wouldn't mind answering. Given that the field of quantum physics, computing, and everything is constantly developing, how do you integrate that with cybersecurity, a field that is also ever-evolving but relatively stable. Wouldn't it be better to have secure infrastructure that you already know a lot about? I only recently came across all these concept (like yesterday, so I really have no idea what am I talking about) and it sounds pretty solid? Your job sounds pretty solid and I hope you get paid enough for it, if only I could be that smart

    • @surfjax23
      @surfjax23 Год назад

      @@AlthamenesI’m not an expert but the way I understand it is the current method of cryptography we use is mainly based on prime numbers. In theory you could solve the cryptography and open any top secret file in the world if you had a good enough computer that could calculate and guess these extremely long prime number problems quickly but digital computers aren’t able to do this and it could take an very long time, even hundreds of years to crack a single code. The problem is that quantum computers work differently than digital computers and they happen to be very good at computing these types of problems. A good quantum computer could crack those same codes within a couple of minutes or even seconds. So if you had a good quantum computer basically you could see through the curtains of anything on the internet which is a huge problem if it gets in the wrong hands. So people like OP are getting ahead of the curve now and creating new methods of cryptography that we can use to make things more secure in the future. I just started getting into these topics myself and It’s really fascinating. Versatium (probably spelled wrong) has a really good video he put up recently going into more detail on this subject called how quantum computers break the internet. Highly recommend it

    • @cookiecrumbzi
      @cookiecrumbzi Год назад +18

      @@AlthamenesI'm also relatively unknowledgable about this stuff, but I'm guessing that OP's job is about making security systems that are "Quantum Proof" and cant be easily subdued by a quantum computer (as far as I'm aware most mordern security encryptions can easily be decoded by quantum computers)

      @@menyasavut3959i agree, ai has certainly been overused for things it does not describe too well. however many text to speeches are under definition of ai. they are given tons of data of people speaking and ai replicated the sound for let’s say a phonic and predicts how it would sound. You can make an ai model that will generate the phonic for whatever text was written. a lot of modern text to speeches work like that, they use ai algorithms. at my school i had this exact arguement with a friend.

    I'm a software developer but I am curious how much lines of codes do you do for your daily work or project? I always have more fun coding the business logic as it is the core of my project and lazily codes other stuff that i feel like it's a burden. I feel that I should have more career assessment then as I want to code but code less that I my codes would drown me already. 😅

    • @Anastasia-Marchenkova
      @Anastasia-Marchenkova  9 дней назад

      Lines of code don't mean much.
      I once worked on a bug with my team lead for 2 weeks that was a one character change.
      I also one did a project for 3 months that was.... maybe 200 lines of code. But it saved the company $2M a year.
      Both were algorithms problems that required a lot of deep research so it was NOT like "make a button red".
      My front end friends have like 5 PRs a day and I'd have one a week. but it'd be a great one :D
