- I'm so old that I still have VHS. The good stuff lives through any format distortion. SOTY 1994, ESDC. -Jake Phelps

"it's not about the tricks, it's the way you do em" - best thing Phelps has ever said.
Madeline Monahan Phelps can skate
Nobody "allowed Phelps" anything... He was there since the early days, and helped keep it all alive when skateboarding almost died. I doubt he would've been hanging with the Delux/Antihero people if he didn't couldn't skate.
My favorite quote from him. RIP Phelps
Madeline Monahan who the Fuck are you
Madeline Monahan looks like you don’t know jack shit about the skateboarding industry.
I love how he pulls his board out the water and throws it back in
hes like "ahh shit, you know what fuck it"
Garf2O Ikr. It's like cmon I know you're pro, but you can still use those wheels and trucks.
@@Souran123 probably had Swiss bearings on that bitch too.
"Whatever im over it" - Carroll ❤
he's like ill set up another haha
ive seen "yeah right!" at least 300 times. back in the day, if the weather was too shitty to skate, wed run this tape, Flip's "Sorry", és "Menikmati" and Zero's "Misled Youth" over and over.. Best skate parts and music ever in my opinion.
Shane Durham Ah the good old days for sure
kickflip over the table at 1:22 never gets old. too perfect!
The angle is magic too.
+corey jay the way it was filmed. 👌
To lazy to walk up the stairs... 5050s up it the rail:O!?!?!
+PotatoPlop and he goes like oww best thing ever
+PotatoPlop makes it look like a little barrel on its side damnn
There’s Nothing like Carroll shredding!!, timeless, still my fave, him n Rick, grew up watching all their footage. I was 14 when Questionable came out. Epic era
by far one of my favorite edits.
One of my favorite parts. There's just something about Mikes style like how his hands face out that just looks so cool. Still watch yeah right on dvd constantly 😁
It can't be stated enough just how good Mike Carroll is.
Haven't seen this part before last week and I've rewatched it every day since!! MC is so dope!!!!
I remember watching this a long time ago. The whole video is amazing
I remember skating with him at the boys club in South City back in 87'.
Switch flip up, body varial, regular varial flip to major Bs smith. Can't even make that line up.
Good ol' time? Fuck that, this part is epic and still holds very very well in 2015. This part is simply a true street skate lesson, no robotic tricks, just pure style and smoothness. Handrails, gaps, flat ground lines, manuals. Everything is in there.
Carroll is untouchable when it comes to style.
Completely forgot he used Born Killer in Yeah Right, I literally just made a playlist to skate to yesterday with that in it. Mike Carroll is the man.
That back 50 on the barrier down that five block tho gotdam
I know that shit looked scary as fuck
VHS was WAY better than DVD music-wise.
Super Mahilo yeah, bc skate videos were under the radar at the time so they didn't need to get the rights to the music
Super Mahilo Bowie instead of GnR for Gino's part?
Phelps hyping up this part before it starts gets me so stoked!!
Huge inspiration to do good kick flips and feeble grinds. Style matters most.
"RIP phelps"
Classic? This is timeless! I saved up all my pocket money to buy this when it first came out.
Carroll has some sick hardflips
Have you ever heard of tony hawk?
one of best skate videos from when i started skating
Easily one the best parts I've ever seen
One of the best parts ever. I love it.
2:12 the feeble tricks were always my favorite in this one. That LA High rail was such a legendary spot.
Best video part I’ve ever seen.
Fav skater for the last 20 years
Space board was awesome and waaay ahead of its time for as far as skate video smoke and mirrors tricks go. Get cracked Phelper!!!
+MrLurkin4life and good tune with it too.
One of the best back smiths in the game, RIP PHELPER
Selena Avalos back smiths, tre flip, and frontside flips. Text book.
Other then having the classic MJ Emerica shoes, what he said about Carroll at the end, was one of the radest things Phelps did/say.
like if varial flips r rad
we're getting into that era where more things are being accepted
accept if it's longboarding or youtube pros.
Kermicheo Kermit Aye not all RUclips pros are wack. John hill has some good vlogs. and lamont holt makes some funny ass edits. I like Garett Ginner's skating, he just seems hyper on cam.
Elijah Weaver the fact that he has vlogs already makes him wack
totally whack
2:31 it’s lit 🔥 with the music, pure style
so raw and inspring
I have the lyrics to this song memorised because of this part.
1:54 I had to make the speed 0.5 to comprehend what the fuck I just watched
wow wtf that's shady
+Oscar Diaz It's why the video is titled 'Yeah Right' - if you watch every part there is one trick in each one that looks impossible because something is edited out and faked. They're just having a good time with it ;d
+TheWatsonGreen oh shit that makes a lot of sense was just gonna say how fake that was hahaha
Well, the video is called "Yeah Right" so it's a fake edit towards the name of the video
IT's A fUCKING FUCKING FAKE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2:30 join with the music . like a legend
When I was a kid I didn’t realize how good this part was
Really appreciating good style comes with years and years in skating. You see people doing the same tricks over and over until you see someone else do the same tricks, but something about it just makes it better.
When you’re a kid, it’s all about the tricks- the hardest, the most technical, the biggest set of stairs, the longest handrail, etc. Then you get older, your tastes mature, and you start to appreciate style. Marc Johnson is GOD!!!
Such a legend same with Koston and Rick Howard!
still watching
One of the greats.
i miss this
so good 5 block 50-50 was awesome🙌🙌🙌
RIP Jake. Roll Forever. Such a sick part.
That invisible ramp tripped me tf out
I got the board that Mike Caroll throws in the water after 53 seconds. My mums friend picked it up and gave it to her in 94 in SF.....
When jake said "I gave him skater of the year in nineteen ninety fuckin four!" that made me smile
The older the Phelper gets, the more he reminds me of Dr. Steve Brule.
SO sick, this has got to be his best part, right??
Loved that part
So glad they picked the VHS version for this one. The soundtrack version of the DVD release plain sucks in comparison. Truly a classic part. I had the Girl ad of that bs 50-50 at 1:08 on my wall for years.
Awesome skater. I got to learn some from Mike Carroll at Woodward years ago.
gives me memories...
This goes so hard
Fr
Love that line with the 2 angled lamp posts. How often do you see spots like that? Ha
green scren ramp blowing my mind when i was a kid!
Carroll is the style himself.
So the green screen ramp had me say “Yeah Right”😭

Love Carroll’s fs bigspins
Mike is a LEGEND
damn i never had this movie this was the first time i saw it so rad
So Glad this was the last VHS Tape I ever got of a SkateFilm instead of DvD...
So FFFucKing ØGGG.
No one hardflips like Mike Carrol!!!!!!
more classics like this !
The lyrics are so raw! Skatings a joke to.
1:52 is absolutely gravity defying.
Yeah it was most likely a green ramp. Since they used green boards and stuff since it was a part of the “Yeah Right!” Film
@@ledopeytaco9430 I shared the clip with my old skating buddy and he told me the same thing. That's the only way it makes sense.
Cheka este estilo milenials🙏🌿🌿🌿
I fucking love this part
switch pop shuv up the 4 stair was mind blowing
fuck man! that part was too good! he is a born killa, killin all the spots he skated!
the bs feeble into tail slide is perfect
RESPECT!!!
RIP Phelps
Holy fuck i remember this video all too well. thanks for uploading some of it
RESPECT
His front side flips are from a different planet.
That 5050 up the handrail has got to be fake or at least has a green screen ramp right?
+Keagan Okeefe correct
+Brent Craddock (gitCHuONe.) I knew he pole jammed up to it or something.
No it was real, dum dumb.
+corey jay yeah right
+Keagan Okeefe no theres definitely a ramp because if you pause it he didn't actually pop his board on the flat they just dubbed the sound
2:54 the 4 (5?) stair step up pop shuv. Not an invisible ramp trick. Just damn
90s style so sick
SLAUGHTERED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
makes it look so damn easy
oh nostalgia..........
I still have 411vm on VHS!!
Check out all the kids confused by the green screen ramps, takes me back to when I first watched it :)
