I use one of those cheap paperless sketch boards that you press a button and everything disappears. Works the same as white board but without the mess. I really liked the plexiglass idea. I want to try that one, just have to figure out where to get a cheap piece of plexiglass. 💕😘

I’m so glad I found you! I have been making quilt tops and finishing the assembling of the quilt with the pillow case method. I use a walking foot to quilt straight lines so far. I was thinking it would be nice to try free motion quilting but I had no idea how to get started. Thank you so much for these good ideas.

Drawing might help a little, but moving a big piece of layered fabric under a needle is a whole different ballgame.

That is true but drawing is a great way to come up with new quilt motifs when you aren't able to be at your machine.
