Pro tip: make the chocolate more yummy by pushing pretzels on the underside of the heart domes. It helps give it more stability and then you have a yummy salty sweet treat to snack on other than too much plain chocolate!
I got a silicon bold JUST like this from Amazon except it’s a huge bear! 😭 It’s adorable! But every video I look up it’s done much smaller & they use a plastic mold (altho from the reviews of the actual mold, it seems possible.. I’ll absolutely but using this as my guide. Thank u SO MUCH for the video!! Wish me luck!
😂😂😂 I’ve never made one but even- I was like... “Nooooo, Liz-nooooooo....why you got that metal mallet so high in the air? It’s...it’s....it’s just choc-late”!!
Hi when I put the heart in the freezer it went really hard and crunchy when I put the second coat and it didn’t work I had to do it again and put in the fridge instead
I love this trend. I want to attempt this but I need to get my hands on a IR thermometer in Australia that is accurate. Would you be able to recommend another reliable IR reader
Can I make these ahead of time like one day ahead of time and then put them in the fridge raider if I have chocolate covered strawberries inside? Looks amazing 💖
Cake question-- Liz, your cake recipes that use oil simply say "vegetable oil". That's a broad range of choices. What type of oil (canola, peanut, safflower, generic vegetable, olive....) do you recommend in a velvet cake--say your pink velvet cake for Valentine's day? Thank you!
Hi! I am not a professional baker (yet) but I have tried different oils but I’ve found that vegetable oil and canola oil was best. Idk but the peanut oil made it taste a little different and not my preference. I hope that helps some 😋
Do these rules apply with almond bark, or is that a lot different? Also what chocolate do you recommend? Jc there’s a lot that comes up when I do a google search.
Not quite, tempering only applies to chocolate that has cocoa butter in it. If you haven’t seen them yet, I go over the difference between the chocolates in my Hot Chocolate bombs video: ruclips.net/video/glSfeaoYgvk/видео.html And in my how to temper chocolate video: ruclips.net/video/z1dHYZgko_k/видео.html Hope this helps!
Oh , absolutely! That’s the mind blowing part. You’re charging top dollar for candy melts 🥴 when REAL CHOCOLATE TASTES AMAZING and costs more. Some people just will never know
When I attempt to make the top and the bottom they do not line up, probably a 1/2 inch gap. Did you use the same mold for the top and the bottom or two molds? I used two molds. I am familiar with making cocoa bombs and assumed it would be the same process but when the hearts didn't line up I was baffled. Any advise?
Oh no! Yes I use 2 separate molds, but they game together in a kit so I’m positive they’re the same size. My only guess is that the chocolate is shrinking away from the edges, so just take extra care with building up the edges so they’re nice and strong.
When you are working on tempering chocolate, what should be the room temperature? If we are in hot climate country then should we turn on the aircon and work? If yes what temperature should be the aircon kept on?
Hi. Thank you for this video. Do you know what can of cake board I can use to stick the heart? I am trying to use one, but the heart sticks on the board and then like 1 hour later starts moving. What can I use or put on the bottom? Thank you 😊
OK so I just found your channel LMBO. It looks like you were taking some frustration out on that poor little heart LOL so we’re making one of these to give to someone how would you seal the hearts together? Would you add a small tiny layer of white chocolate and press it down or would you melt it down a little bit and then stick it on top? Thank you and you’re funny btw and I love conversation hearts 🥰 ❤️
I Wana make a heart like this for my boyfriend.... Hope mine comes out pretty.. Thanks for showing us how to do it.. But I will be using the small hammer 🛠.. Lol 😂

Would love to make one filled with m&ms! So once you have tempered chocolate, it stays tempered? Like, if it sets and you want to use it again later, you only have to melt it and not temper it again?
Make a french buttercream video and can you put the egg yolks by oz and not egg yolks because I have broken left over egg yolks so I don't know how many I have
@@SugarGeekShow thank you for telling me. Also can you please follow me on tikok. I ask a lot because my family knows I love your channel. I’ve had mine in the freezer for a couple hours now but the chocolate doesn’t seem to completely harden. Is there something I could be doing wrong? This is my third attempt and I feel like giving up
Oh no! It sounds like there was an issue with your tempering. What kind of chocolate did you use and what method of tempering? Microwave? Seeding method?
Hi could you tell me why my chocolate heart doesn't actually smash when you hit with the mallet? It just sinks (like it's soft) when smashed. Despite only being out the freezer for less than 10 mins
I need help! When I’ve done this my hearts never end up having them be the same exact size ugh! They teeter totter. Is that makes sense. What am I doing wrong?! Is the amount of chocolate supposed to be exact?
Happy to see a full heart, with a top & bottom. It looks so great!
For some reason everyone just molds one and sets it atop a pile of treats.
Pro tip: make the chocolate more yummy by pushing pretzels on the underside of the heart domes. It helps give it more stability and then you have a yummy salty sweet treat to snack on other than too much plain chocolate!
That break was epic 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽🤣🤣🤣
Your laughter was awesome! That really SHATTERED!
Thank you ! It seems that you’re the only one using real chocolate, super helpful video.
Your reaction is priceless!!! Love it

And I know this recipe will be good because you make good recipes and I have tried it before
That's why they use the dainty hammer. :)
Hey Liz.. can we use nestle tolls or Ghirardelli white chocolate chips...we can temper them also right?? Plzzz reply me
If a chocolate has cocoa butter as an ingredient on the back of the package, it’s real chocolate and can be tempered
Okay 🤣 thats it 🤣🤣🤣
Lol this was to fun! Thank you for the laughs Liz 😋🥳🙌
You are such a sweet and humble person! And this video was helpful and fun ☺️💕

What is the temp of the second coated chocolate when you dumped it over the white chocolate? 86?
Yesssss! Agree 100000%
I cringe at all the candy melt strawberries, hearts, etc 🥺 they charge so much for chocolate that isn’t even real
and doesn't taste as good

Any infrared thermometer will work!
Thank you :)
Do you have a crepes video?
WOW!!!🤣😂😆 cute!!!
To funny and looked so fun
What do you use to stick half of the cake onto a cake board?
Hi, the left over tempered white chocolate. How would you reuse it for next time? Would you need to reheat it upto 45c?
You are amazing 👏 ❤
can i put it on fridge a day before the party?
So do you put it in the fridge for a while until you use it again how long if so?

Hi can we use milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate for the second layer?
Will the chocolate melt like if the heart is made and finished will it melt ?
Does all choclate need to be tempered for this breakable heart to work?
Amazing!!❤️
yay I suggested this video
Hey liz what if we want to use semisweet chocolate?
Hi! Will it taste different if I make this with chocolate compound?
Yes :) the better tasting chocolate you use, the better it will taste
Could i use almond bark?
Hi! Can we melt Nutella instead of chocolates, please?
Idk why my brain went to “moose? I thought it was a heart 🤔” 🤣
will it melt on room temp after tempering?
Nope, if tempered correctly it will stay in tact at room temp
@@SugarGeekShow wow thanks! even in transport a bit hot sometimes.. it will not be melted right?
@@SugarGeekShow and how many days can i store it on fridge before serving?

Where do you get the heart pan? What is it called
What size mold is that please?

Lol 😂 ya ya you smashed it bad WHO hurt you girl tell me so I get at em 😂
Make a french buttercream video and can you put the egg yolks by oz and not egg yolks because I have broken left over egg yolks so I don't know how many I have
If it helps you, one egg yolk weighs .67 ounces so you can always figure out how many you have :)

can i use candy melts?
They may not come out of the mold, because candy melts don’t contract like real chocolate. So I wouldn’t recommend it
Can you make different kinds of frosting
I have tons of frosting recipes you can check out on my blog :) sugargeekshow.com/category/recipe/frosting-and-icing/

Your temper was probably off 🙁 it can be really tricky to get right.
Can we use lindtt chocolate ?
Yes! Just be sure to chop it finely for seeding or before melting if you're doing the microwave method.

where do you buy the heart mold at?
