However, chain greasing is a small problem, safety in operation is more important.

Someone with the talent and ability to engineer the HELL out of a project like this, can surely fix the saw.
I’m thinking this was more of a “can I?” Vs. “Should I?”
The safety aspect of the chain break and the balance of the saw make me think maybe this was a great way to prove you can, but ultimately not a wheel worth re-inventing. Just my 2 cents.

It is a mobile equipment that also works gravitationally - as the center of gravity is on the side, it will always tend to cut to the side ...
And all you need is a lathe , a welder , skills to use both, loads of spare metal , taps and dies and a machine shop.

На таком оборудовании и с таким инструментом мог бы движок новый сгородить. Ну показал мужик сколько у него всего в сарае, ну руки и мозги на месте. Но мысль, что делать ему нехер не покидает.

Well I give you credit for your ingenuity and I don't have a machine shop at my disposal but I do know how to buy a quality chainsaw, you know..... one that starts every time.
Wouldn't it be easier to clean and adjust the carburator and/or ignition system of the chainsaw?
Certainly it would be more safe and more compact than this construction....
The idea is very much unique and very smart creating a way to keep things going without throwing away that could be done just like that I love it

У меня две бензопилы штиль , им уже пять лет , всю зиму бензопила , пролежала в сарае , сегодня 13 апреля 2022 года , завёл её с четвёртого раза.

Great you spent more in labor and material than a new saw would cost,and ended up with a less powerful more dangerous saw

Да согласен руки инструменты него есть но такая пила долго не прослужит без смазки он за губит цепь и шину
@@den260180 по поводу цепи и шины вспомните первые электрические пилы Парма у них не было смазки и приходилось в баночку с маслом кунать. А самоделка полная х....ня👎👎👎👎, потом из остатков пилы и косилки сделает триммер.

if only i had few extra tools. lathe ,pillar drill ,metal bender, tap and die set, mig welder etc. might be cheaper and faster to buy a new chainsaw, but good work.

Fantastic building skills! Way better than McGiver. But it is very difficult for me to understand why? Fix that one or Go get another chainsaw. You have every other correct tool for the job and are damn good with them.

Lubrication and braking ... I say that the tool is also unbalanced. I don't mention safety in operation because it doesn't exist.

pretty funny instead of fixing the chainsaw which would have been more reliable. He puts it on a less reliable weed eater engine. With probably less horsepower. 12 minutes and 47 seconds I'll never get back
The donor saw is more reliable or does not matter less than the safety in operation. And the pain / life.
Never ever use water to quench harden steel. Use oil. If that piece shatters, you are in big trouble. Other than that it is a nice build. Too bad you can't just make a modular attachment for a line of weed whackers. That said, I would have just taken the chainsaw back to Home Depote and get another one.

Some aspects:
- Heavy weight
- Lack of chain lubrication - low reliability
- High construction costs - a parker chainsaw (this is also the name of the ship on which they were assembled) is under $ 100
- Lack of any safety system - chain brake, chain stop
- Unbalanced - will tend to cut crookedly
- It requires great efforts in its safe and correct handling.

С точки зрения потраченного времени и материала данная затея не целесообразна дешевле купить такую же китайскую пилу, она будет безопасней. А если посмотреть с другой стороны то это не плохой опыт в конструировании👍

well, i know you are good at working on metal, but since your chainsaw does not start use a few drops of gasoline in the intake of air, and ill start easily ,,, regarding your patented chainsaw made from a grass trimmer, there is no protection bar the one that if you saw kicks back will stop it from running on your face,

Сделал неплохо конечно. Раз такой Кулибин. Пилу отремонтировал бы и всё чтобы не ломалась. Намного меньше времени ушло

Only one thing .....I didn't see any bar oil being used,this will heat up the chain and cause it to stretch and possibly snap and ruin the bar..other than that I'm very impressed with your engineering skills sir .

Проще бензопилу отремонтировать, обычно проблема в карбюраторе.
А так как вы не стоит делать, сломали хороший триммер. Очень сложный и дорогой процесс переделки. Думаю он никому не пригодится
