- Some of the most important moments in one's development are be conceptual. In some ways, the "Mindset" portion of BassEducation.com is my favorite section. In these videos, I tend not to do any playing but rather talk about things that I think are important to learn as early as possible.
BTW... I was having camera issues and I am a little "Barbara Walters soft lens" here... My camera kept focusing on everything but my head. Apologies. I didn't think that it was a big enough issue to warrant trying to re-tape the entire thing. Hopefully, you agree.
Many Many thanks 😊for your willingness to help and share your wisdom with us, 🙂🙂💙💙
Great advice, Damian. I think you summarize the most important point by saying "You can't help but sound like yourself". And that's why I think people don't even really need to sweat the question. If you have enough passion to learn an instrument, you're surely listening to lots of music, and your unique experience -- both musically and just living life -- will translate everything you hear into your own sound. When you're young, that sound might be one-dimensional, but as you age, all your experiences will shape your sound, and that sound will likely become multi-dimensional... like whoever you've become.
Well said!!
