Just wanted to say that this video changed my life a bit. Seeing yourself as a perpetual enthusiast rather than a [insert-thing-here] is THE cure for Imposter Syndrome, in any field. This has had immediate beneficial impact in many areas of my life. Thank you for this, really appreciate it.
I understand your point. Amateur literally means “the one who loves.” Expert means “the one who tries.” Thanks for all your uploads and your music. Take care!
Super important information. For me, the understanding that all the greats at one time were struggling and making mistakes just like me has been a far more important lesson than any technique I've learnt.
Beautiful! Thank you. You are new to me but this was the perfect introduction to get me to investigate further. I always wondered why some improvised sessions can go so well and others can fail miserably and I think it has to do with perception at the moment of playing to be in that zone of perfection or to be distracted by worrying about what you are or are not doing. so much of it is mental. thank you again.
Good stuff. My former music partner is convinced he's mastered a few instruments. Has he? I can't say, but he does play them at a professional level. I've pretty much convinced myself I started too late & keep focusing on all the aspects of my playing that suck.
