What's a sasenauch? You mean sassenach. And the word simply means someone who is not from the Highlands. I, as a native of Edinburgh, am regarded by Highlanders as a sassenach. The word, as so many seem to think, doesn't specifically mean English , or another nationality. It just means a non- Highlander.
Charles 1st born in Scotland his son Charles 2nd born in England but was also King of Scots his grandfather was James 6th of Scotland who took over England in 1603 God Save the King 🇬🇧
The first tune is 'Pentland Hills'. It was first composed by violinist James Oswald (1711-69) of Dumfermline and published in his Caledonian Pocket Companion (1747-c. 1769).
It’s a March called Holyrood, composed by Kenneth Alford (pen name of Bandmaster FJ Ricketts, 2nd Battalion Princess Louise’s (Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders)) in 1912 to commemorate the Battalion undertaking Royal Duties at Holyroodhouse.

Nothing screams "Edinburgh Castle" like a brass band. I was surprised that the band didn't play "The Grand old Duke of York" and then I remembered that he's the black sheep of the family. The Liberty Bell March would have been good though.
Really? I should have thought that a pipe band, rather than a brass band, would be more appropriate. What is especially Scottish about a brass band? Nothing that I can think of, and I'm Scottish (from Edinburgh, as it happens). And why were you surprised the band didn't play "The Grand old Duke of York" ? Prince Andrew is the current Duke of York. Charles never held the title of Duke of York. So how it have been appropriate to play that tune, given this ceremony celebrates King Charles' coronation? Finally, why would it have be appropriate, given the occasion, to play an American march by Sousa? I simply don't follow your logic.
@@davidlauder-qi5zv Yes, David, I agree with a lot of what you said. 1. a pipe band would have been more appropriate. 2. there's nothing Scottish about a brass band. 3. The Duke of York is Charlie's brother so there is a family connection there. 4. Edinburgh Castle is at the top of a hill; in the song the Grand old Duke was marched to the top of a hill; in the video the firing party was marched to the top of a hill so there is a connection there. 5. The Liberty Bell March was used as the theme tune for Monty Python's Flying Circus, possible connection there. Congratulations, David, you're obviously not in tune with my sarcasm. I, on the other hand, have to live with it.
No. Mons' Meg is more than 500 years old. To attempt to fire it, given its huge calibre, would require an enormous amount of gunpowder, which would be likely to damage the cannon beyond repair.
How Human Nature Works Human nature is the desire to receive, also called “desire to enjoy,” and it functions by receiving what is beneficial to itself and rejecting what is harmful. Everything in our lives is built upon this calculation where we first try to distance ourselves from harm, and then seek how to draw ourselves closer to what is beneficial. Human nature also includes a multilayering of systems that work simultaneously on still, vegetative, animate and human levels. One of those systems is our bodily one, which operates involuntarily. If our bodies are healthy, then they know what is good for them and draw that goodness to themselves. After the bodily system, there is the emotional system, which also functions relatively according to instinct. From the emotional system, we move to the mind, and from the mind to the intellect, and so on. That is, we have systems over systems that concurrently work on receiving what is beneficial and rejecting what is harmful. Such is human nature and the essence of our lives. Our every desire, thought and action operates according to the calculation, “How can we receive what is most beneficial to us and reject what is harmful?”
what I would like to see is a more proactive approach to some of the towns within England that are listed as the worse within the different shires, as to crime...and having nothing to do, something has to be done to make those places more liveable....not just in the south of england also but throughout, the UK.

What a pleasant change, no anti royal comments on here unlike other channels
You spoke too soon. Look at the hate-filled diatribe above, at the 4 hrs ago mark.😊
Anyone have a Playlist for the band numbers?
According to a copyright claim 11:09 to 12:44 is "Rock That Body" but it's actually "Wild Mountain Thyme".

Want to see this in person
I've been there on April, sometimes I guess that it was just a dream, so great experience to know that place! 🇧🇷
Fantastic
Watched one of these today from Princess Street and wondered what it was all about
No Pigeons were harmed in this Filming
Interesting that the band played "76 Trombones", a very American composition but still the quintessential marching band song.
Looks like a 3-gun salute to me. I was hoping for one final shot where all 3 guns fired simultaneously.
They fired 21 rounds in total. 7 from each gun. It's not rocket science.
God Bless the Scotts and God Save King Charles lll !
bonita tradição.
Well done in saluting the new king with his queen
This is the best part ever to exist in the UK. 3:57
What's the march at 21:00
I think the tune called 'Holyrood', but I don't know much about the story of the tune.
