The Jury were not informed about fey facts in this case. There is no blame attached to the Jury who could only make judgement on the information given. The prosecution was "a stranger to the truth" in various ways and the expert witness blatantly lied. The Jury were not aware that Lucy was not on shift when 10 of the babies died. The Jury were not made aware of the raw sewage and killer bugs on the ward. One of the lead consultants blamed Lucy for the death of a child that he killed, be it all accidentally!!! As to the defence expert witnesses: i saw an interview with a uk doctor who testified in a court case for the defence (concerned a sudden infant death). She was eventually proven right, but never practiced again. I heard Dr Dimitrova who cooperated on a RUclips documentary which doubted the guilt of Letby is removed from the Ockenden review. No wonder UK doctors are hesitant to publicly come out. Also: in the similar Lucia de Berk case in the Netherlands the defence DID call it’s own expert witnesses, but in the general climate of this ‘killer nurse’ nothing contradicting witnesses declared was accepted by the court. Not even the fact there were in fact more deaths on the ward in previous years (missed by the prosecution because the ward changed names) made an impression.
