The Ottoman Navy (Turkish: Osmanlı Donanması) or The Imperial Navy (Ottoman Turkish: Donanma-yı Humâyûn), also known as the Ottoman Fleet, was the naval warfare arm of the Ottoman Empire. It was established after the Ottomans first reached the sea in 1323 by capturing Praenetos (later called Karamürsel after the founder of the Ottoman Navy), the site of the first Ottoman naval shipyard and the nucleus of the future navy.

Yavuz was a battlecruiser, yes. But ex Breslau was a armored cruiser, far from a battlecrusiser.

Sms breslau = protected cruiser. Just an armored "turtel" deck.

@@alexzenz760 Yes ...Breslau was classed as a light cruiser.

Breslau was a “scout” cruiser armed with/ 12 105mm (4.1”) rifles. Displacing 4550 tons at normal load. Source: 1914 Jane’s Fighting Ships.

The Turks were very much under the control of the Germans in WW1, not only at sea. German Officers commanded the Turkish armies throughout the war. This was agreed in the Turkish-German Alliance of 1913 when the Germans under Liman von Sanders took control of all Turkish forces for the duration of WW1. The British knew of this, and were not going to hand over new ships to the Germans.

Hey there, thanks again for your upload and enjoy your 4th of July weekend over the pond there.
P.S. I don’t hold any grudges even if it was those dastardly French that tipped the balance and forced us British into choosing between the 13 Colonies or the much more profitable Caribbean Islands back then.😂😂😂 only pulling your leg, all friends have arguments, it makes the relationship stronger. 👍🇬🇧🙏🇺🇸📚

The Turkish/Russian is much like we English were with our French friends until the Entente Cordiale. The Russians have been eternally eying the Dardanelles for access to the Mediterranean and Atlantic waters and never mind their back and forth regarding land possession over the last few centuries even as recently as the Russian ambassador being murdered on live 📺 along with the shooting down of the Russian jet too suggest they are still not best of friends. Don’t forget quite how powerful and large the Ottoman Empire was and for some duration until they overstretched themselves and were seduced by imperial Germany in the Great War and were ultimately defeated by Great Britain despite their fantastic resistance to the ANZAC landings around Suvla Bay they lost their Empire and along with the British allies France they lost around two thirds of their territory. It’s much credit to them for the great work they have done since then and are now back to being a top tier power and their not so reliant upon other countries either. Best wishes

Churchill believed that the Turkish battleships would sail to German ports. Ignore the fact that the ships were built in Britain and had British machinery and guns. The fact remains that lacking ammunition, the ships were of little use to Germany, and made Turkey an enemy.

Plus, the RN wanted more battleships! They even commandeered a nearly completed Chilean battleship renamed the HMS Canada. Desperate times…

Battle of Eli: Greeks sank no Ottoman ships and damaged one.
Battle of Lemnos: Greeks sank no Ottoman ships and damaged 3 out of 9.
You have a very inaccurate view of what constitutes "destroying" an enemy fleet.
National pride isn't bad, but making ridiculous claims on the internet about your country's achievements that never actually happened like that, without doing any research, is just stupid. It took me less than a minute to find out how wrong you were.
You sound just like Argentina claiming they sank a British carrier during the Falklands War, or the Houthis claiming they hit a US carrier recently, both laughably ridiculous lies that can be disproved in a matter of seconds by any educated person.
