    If this was a union employee, this discussion wouldn't be necessary.

      One would hope. But I've worked at plenty of union jobs where you still have to deal with stuff like this. Makes unions all the more necessary.

      @HansHenker: I've also worked plenty of union jobs, and this kind of discussion never happened at them. It did, however, happen at a few nonunion jobs, though.

      I've seen it happen either way. My point is that union jobs can have shi**y bosses too... but at least with a union, it's not just you vs. management.

    This is exactly how public schools work. That is why teachers are salaried.

      I was a teacher for years, I don't remember working overtime once. Ever. It's not that hard to do the job in the normal hours. You're aware that you can just use old teachers' (or your own if you've been around) lesson plans and should absolutely not be making new ones the large majority of the time, right?

      @@gavinjenkins899 I don't know what subject or grade level you taught, but did you not have PDs, community nights, after school meetings that dragged on and on which could have been an email, papers to grade, duties that bit into whatever planning time you were supposed to have, after school IEP meetings, before school IEP meetings, powerpoints to make, emails to read and respond to. Parental contacts to make, schedules to set up and...my favorite, come and get your keys and decorate your classroom a week before school starts?

    Just log the hours anyway. Snap a pic.
    If it's "adjusted", take it to Labor.
    Doesn't pay to have confrontations like that and to Poke The Bear all the time.

    I love the endless "Pizza Party" gag, could add and free bottles water but not a name brand type. hummm maybe "Generic Pizza Party" would be a nice touch. PS it is BYOO "Bring your own oven"

    I learned a lot for these videos. My supervisor asked me to work overtime and so I charged the company the overtime. My supervisor was dumbfounded.

    Yes, employees are there for the paycheck so that they can pay their bills. Do employers actually think that the employees are there for fun!? Employees don't put up with cr@ppy bosses, cr@ppy work conditions, and cr@ppy customers for fun.

    • @mikek0135
      @mikek0135 Месяц назад

      No, almost all employers know that almost all the employees are there for a paycheck. This would rarely happen.

    I wonder how productive corporate would think closing down early since they don't want to pay the employee for the time they work ?

    Oh come on! I've worked in a variety of different lines of work in the last forty + years and I have never once been asked to work for free. I get that a salary position is different, but this not an example of that. Some off these are just way off reality.

      Buddy of mine worked for a shipping company that the manager wouldn’t even have this convo.
      They just retroactively changed timesheets without telling them so they only got paid 40. They were sneaky about it though. If they had ANY indication you’d complain about it they wouldn’t do it to you but they’d ream over the quite ones all day long.
