My daughter worked at a local pizza place in 2021. She was sick as a dog when the Omicron rolled in about January, 2021. I made her take a Covid test every day. Her tests were negative for four days. She went to work very sick - with a mask- because the tests were negative and “they were short staffed “. Day five she was positive! She had her hands in peoples’ pizzas for four days! Thank goodness for 500 degree pizza ovens. Maybe don’t make someone sick come in and make pizza for grandma!? Choose your chance of infection or pizza, y’all.

This happened to me. I came down with the flu and called in sick. The supervisor and a co-worker came to my family's home to pick me up to go to work. The supervisor said I didn't look that bad even though I looked and felt like the walking dead. My dad tore them a new one for that.

Blew my knee out once, got a doctors note about it, but they still REFUSED to let me have a chair even though standing on the concrete floor for an 8 hour shift was incredibly painful. They claimed the customers wouldn't be able to see me or that the chair would get in the way, and that standing was necessary. So it took MONTHS for my knee to get better instead of weeks

Hi from Britland; my late dad worked in the Sheffield steel industry in the 60s. His boss told him to stay in the rest cabin on his shifts unless he was needed. Another shift boss couldn't stand him just waiting around so gave him menial jobs... after 3 days his boss found him and was furious, asking why they could never find him! They desperately needed my dad's skills with his acetylene torch. The other shift boss got blasted as it cost the company around the equivalent of about $15,000 a day in lost production. Moral for bosses; never assume, always check!

When I was a cashier I wish I could sit while working. I couldn't though cause it's rude. Also because a lot of the customers expected cashiers to bag their items for them and put it in the cart for them while you scan their items with their arms crossed watching you while you do it. A lot of cashiers get a lot of health issues whether it be mentally or physically due to the demanding bosses and customers.

The word ASSUME has been taken by the therapist regime into meaning A$$ U & ME. By ASSUMING it doesn't mean it's TRUE. I had gone to a COUNCILOR with the ex and she said that to me in the RX'S defense. A few minutes later the COUNCILOR ...ASSUMED something about ME. So I said," DO YOU KNOW WHAT ASSUME MEANS?" She the threw both my ex and me out of the office... The councilor was very bias against me because UNKOWINGLY the EX had been seeing her for the past 3 weeks and filled her head with lies.

Or i can get you into a bigger pickle than you all ready are by quitting myself, as there are many other jobs out there who don't abuse 'team players' or 'family,' so check mate!

Omg this reminds me of the time I was working self checkout and a man literally yelled at me to put his groceries in his cart for him at a different checkout lane. I didn’t realize he was talking to me at first because I was focused on my job. I wasn’t allowed to look away because I had to make sure no one needed help at any of my 4 stations and make sure they were scanning everything properly. The guy yelled at me to “get off my phone” and help him. The “phone” was a handheld monitor for the self checkout. 😑 I explained that I wasn’t allowed to leave my station and on top of that I wasn’t able to lift his heavy cases of drinks for a medical reason but “just for you I’ll help out”. I proceeded to put one light bag in his cart and walk away.

HR is not your friend HR is not your ally Confide in HR and risk your job. Keep a journal Document everything Print emails and other documentation and keep the papers at home.

These skits are unrealistic. No manager would call someone and say "what time are you coming in because someone else quit". They would ask you to come in and try to guilt trip you into coming in.

You do not get to tell me what my employees will do. You need something I will get it for you. What my employee is or is not doing is none of your concern.

Yeah, the law is 8 hours between shifts in America. We can work 16 hour shifts unless you're in medical then it's 24. Resident Dr's can have 36 hour rotations. Who wants a doctor who's been awake so long they start hallucinating? Most unskilled labor jobs give no sick time, no vacation time (until the 5th year). Our minimum wage hasn't increased with inflation (the way it was meant to) since the 70s. Minimum wage means the least amount of money required to sustain a life- food, clothing, shelter. But republican mouthpieces like Rush Limbaugh have convinced the uneducated that minimum wage is only for teens. And buried the fact that when it's higher, other salaries go up too. I should have moved to another country years ago, but I always had hope

Please stop saying 'with all due respect' to these people. You're being kind to enhance their experience, but it isn't due them in ANY SENSE AT ALL.

The one time i was working target this woman was hassling one of my coworkers to climb to get something and he was clearly in a brace. He told her he was going to go get someone and her whole thing was he walking away and ignoring her request and being disrespectful. I offered to get the item and she refused wanting him to get it and i kid you not this tall AF man rounded the corner out of nowhere, reached up and knocked down like 4-5 boxes onto the floor like a cat and said, "There. I brought them all to your level. Now shut up and leave the kid alone!" She was not happy. She was not happy at all. She went to customer service to complain and the tall man followed her and once again waited for her to say something stupid before stepping in standing right next to her to tell his side of the story and she backed up and left. Tall man whereever you are, youre still awesome.
