Definitely let me know your thoughts on the 1985 poll results, and this video series in general. Maybe you even have some memories of Circus Magazine from way back when? Let me know all of that, and anything else that makes sense, in the comments below.

    1st time in your channel.
When I saw that cover, my jaw dropped.
I wish I still had my collection of mags.

I also saw Motley Crue during the 1985 Theater Of Pain tour. Here on the west coast the opening act was Autograph (Turn Up The Radio) I also missed the Shout Of The Devil tour in 1984 b/c my parents thought i was too young. Wish i had gone b/c Motley Crue opened for Ozzy Osbourne on the Bark At The Moon tour. uggh !

Saw Yngwie with AC/DC on the Fly On The Wall tour. He went into an unaccompanied solo so I went to take a leak (not a fan). Decided while out there to buy a shirt. Came back to my seat and he was STILL SOLOING. Insufferable.

Also didn't think KISS was big in the mid 80s. Can't wait for '86!

Steve Harris was on the top Bass list from 82-88, but Nikki was winning everything which is a farce, but of the era.

27:52 Nicko also suffered a stroke in January 2023 that paralyzed his right side. With rehab he's been able to get back to a level where he can tour, but by his own admission his drumming is not at the level it used to be (being 72 y.o. doesn't help either), and Maiden has adjusted their song choices and tempos to assist him.

This is awesome, I use to get every issue at a newsstand in our mall in Waterbury, Connecticut. All of these albums were great except for the Motley and Bon Jovi releases. I may have lost interest in Dio’s Sacred Heart album at this point, still listening to the first two. I agree Y&T was killer on the tour at this time. Right on with everything you are saying.

Guess it's never clicked just how BIG hair metal was back them. Pun intended (obviously I knew Possessed and Exodus wouldn't be anywhere in this magazine lol) that is funny how 2 songs sold that Crue album. Wild times for rock and metal.

Invasion of Your Privacy on vinyl is one of those records that sounds beyond the cassette or CD. It's like on a different level kinda like an RL Led Zep II. I don't know what they did to make it sound, production wise, so good. It's a go to record for me to show how records sound better than CD. You hear every instrument and they all sound good. I was really surprised by that.

Just a little house keeping in regards to some of the points made in this fascinating video/recollection.
    1) Nicko's appearance on the Sooty Show was broadcasted in early '88. Since then there's a Sooty glove puppet placed on the bass drum.
    2) Rick Allen had lost his arm before '84 came to close, and Leppard were still working on Hysteria, making their inclusion baffling.
    3) Ozzy reunited with Sabbath for Live Aid, hence come back
    4) Lita Ford seemed to dominate the best female artist for years and well into the 90's.
    5) Vince Neil was never a singer; entertainer but never a singer.
Look forward to the next video 🤟🏻

Would have been a bit different, if it was a UK magazine instead of a US. In the guitarist section if it was a UK magazine, you would have had Gary Moore and Michael Schenker. Surprised in the Circus poll there is no mention of Queensryche. Geoff Tate should have been in male vocalist.

Vince Neil won best singer in all these metal magazines from 85 -87, Nikki Sixx best bassist also a lot. You can't argue with teenage girls
