Actually that guy did answer your question. If you're not comfortable with your hand sets and don't think you can do it then don't do it 🤔 I use whatever is convenient for the pass and I play A/open. There's no "good position" cause a perfect pass for some isn't good for others who have trouble hand setting 🤷‍♂️ these guys pass high. You could be in the perfect spot to hand set it but since you're new and that ball is coming fast at your face for a hand set. Are you comfortable enough to make a clean set? Alot of these guys even go to a knee to hand set. The "good position" is situational and you should do whatever works best for you.
