- DIY, this is a complete upholstery leather seat swap on a 3rd Gen AL10 2010 Lexus RX350, changing the original parchment leather/ vinyl to a cleaner and new nice vanilla frost seats. Leatherseats.com is not a sponsor, I have bought from them and though that the quality of the seats are very good, fitment fits nice and snug, check them out, they have high quality hosiery for your car needs.
Things that is needed to consider:
After market upholstery aren’t made to fit exactly like OEM, modifications are require and thus seeking a professional is an option.

Tools needed:
Plastic pry tool
Phillips screw driver
Flathead screw driver
14mm socket
10mm socket
Pliers
Hog rings (local Lowe’s or Home Depot)
Hog ring plier (local Lowe’s or Home Depot)
Metal snipper tool or small bolt cutter
Sharp razor blade

I just completed this on my 450h. Thanks for the video. The thing i forgot to do on the first try is install the hog rings on the front and back of the seat cushion. This is critical. Also for those trying to do this. Pay attention to how the plastic front and sider cover go back on. I was stuck on this for a while until i looked at my other seat. I only replaced my seat cushion and not the whole thing. The thing that sucks is trying to find a good rear seat cover replacement.
I will be attempting this in a couple of days. I am sure I can get everything apart. Getting everything back together.... might be a problem! Thanks for the help.
So I just did my bottome seat today. I bought my seat from texan on ebay. Lengthy process. Just take your time and don't rush it. It took me between 5-6 hours . The hardest part was figuring out where to start the hog rings. I had to do half up both sides and then the middle. Then I finished the sides and did the front. Not the worst job but I should have waited until it was nice and cool. Good luck!

Thank you for showing the process, I assume that the passenger cushion had some wrinkles in it I’m assuming that may have to do with the placing of the hog rings but thank you very much. I’ll be doing cushions this afternoon on the same vehicle. Great video thank you

Now I want to find someone to do it for me. I will order the covers, but I don't want to do this. I love to tinker, but I might not get it back together correctly, and it might take me a month to finish one seat.

Will you please let me know how to remove the back cushion completely. You are only removing the cover of the cushion but I need to remove the whole cushion. The problem is the headrest clips. How do I get them off? Thanks!

Very nice video! A DampRid bag leaked on my back passenger side seat. The "leather" looks wrinkled/melted. I wondered if it could be replaced---- and, it can! I hope I can find a Lexus dealer that will do this for me. Thank you!

It’s an adhesive spray made for fabric to stick on to, the one I use le is made by 3m

Very good guide. Does anyone know what the purpose of an oblong thick plastic block in a cloth pocket on the inside of the bottom cushion by the seat belt? It is secured with a pop button through the outer upholstery leather. I sewed it back in on my seat cover, as it was not supplied with my new bottom covers. 2010 RX350, two bottom seat recovers only..
Makes you want to get a Corolla and change the seats
So you have to reinstall with new hog rings and have the correct plirr for that too

It can take up to 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 hours depending on tools available to you, difficulty level, is medium. Not as hard as you think.

Aren't you supposed to disconnect the battery first? (to avoid the airbags going off or whatever)
You don’t necessarily have to, I would if I’m working on my steering wheel, but since I’ve disconnected from the under the seats itself, there is no power to the seats.
Hey does the passenger cushion fit into the driver side? Would i be able to just buy a pax seat and swap out the entire cushion?
Fantastic video. Two questions: Does Lexus sell the leather with the heating pad already joined together and secondly, it looks like re-installing the hog rings is the hardest part of this - is there a special tool for that?
Yes, Lexus does sell the leather holster separately, they’re around $200-$300 each, and you can buy tools on Amazon, hog ring pliers and hog rings to install.

If I ever come across these cars, yes, I will definitely do one, these seats are not hard, just time consuming, but worth it in the long run.

I’m pretty sure Cali have shops that does this, I don’t live there, so I don’t know any actual shops,but they are pretty pricey, but it’s worth it if you plan on keeping your car for a long run.
Just had a shop here in Houston replace the bottom leather on drivers side seat. It was torn in the perforated parts. They replaced all the bottom cushion leathers and center perforated part on drivers seat. It was $465 without tax added. Looks amazing now.
