- Music is a huge part of Dragon Ball. They have so many awesome songs that I can listen to the soundtrack without even watching the anime. So today I decided to put a list together of my top 10 songs from dragon ball Z composed by Bruce Faulconer. I miss watching DBZ with Bruce Faulconer score soundtrack. My all time favorite is the Gohan Angers. I can listen to it all day.
That’s an awesome one. I like the Faulconer score because it gives it a deferent vibe.

Z kai was pathetic because of its music. It had nothing too make the situations seem dire. Faulconers music set the tone for everything in the older versions.
Oh my gosh man his music was god mode for DBZ. Wow! I remember the HBTC theme playing during very dramatic parts like Vegetas dying words to Goku on Namek. When that theme played man it really brought out the feeling to that scene and I had to fight the tears back. This guys music cant be topped. The show isnt even the same without it.😅
The transition from hell’s bells to the dragon theme in the scene where Vegeta charges up the final flash for Cell is the greatest thing ever

@@XZAVIER-DAA-GOD yes you can switch between the Japanese soundtrack and Funimation soundtrack which uses the Bruce faulconer score. Or buy the yellow brick dvd set

I watched Dragon Ball with the Japanese Soundtrack, I didn´t know about Bruce´s work until DB Z Kakarot but I now I can understand why a lot of people love It.
Imagine dbs with Faulconer producing the sound and the old school animation.

I didn't grow up with Bruce Faulconer songs, my country uses the Japanese soundtrack. But he has some really cool songs

I can’t watch DBZ without this soundtrack. It’s what makes dragonball z so legendary
As a kid in the U.S. when these were airing, these songs were seared into my brain. The amount of energy and hype they generated was intense. Some of the tracks were overused or used in less that appropriate scenes. But man when they got it right, the Japanese sound track doesn't even come close to touching it.

Where do you watch
Yeah I dont know what really happened to the genera of music. The 90's and early 2000's had some of the most unique soundtracks to this day such as DBZ and YuYu Hakasho crazy electronic themes. What Bruce Faulconer did with the original North American production of DBZ is still probably the most unique soundtrack I've had the joy of listening to in a Shonen anime.
Yeah I have often wondered that myself. I guess as anime and wider Japanese culture has become more normalized and accepted by American's. Studios decided it was no longer necessary to pay to replace the soundtracks with something more Western appealing. Or at least I think that may have been part of it.

The Time Chamber one is instant chills every time, it's always playing at the most emotional scenes. My favorite one by far, but there's this one quiet techno sounding one that plays a few times. When Yamcha is looking for the androids I think it plays, but when they're all in the rocks looking around for 20/Gero I distinctly remember it playing. Ba-dey bu...bu... bwa-bu (ambience for awhile, ding ding and then repeats), if that narrows it down lol

Vegeta's snapmode theme with those deranged piano keys is out of this world and Goku's ssj 3 theme with his desperate screams during his transformation always gives chills. These are all amazing!
I like your list. There's one piece of music from the Namek saga that is one of the first themes introduced by Bruce. I have no idea what its called and I can never find it anywhere, but people use it all the time in DBZ videos. It goes super hard and I hate that its always ignored in videos like this.
Yeah, watching the Toei Animation DBZ and the music is just... bad. I remembered it being quite good. Then I see all the comments about it being a different soundtrack, and it's just, it completely changes the atmosphere. It takes away all intensity and stakes.

I think it’s just nostalgia.. but HELLS BELLS AND GOHAN ANGERS WILL ALWAYS BE MY TOO 2.. I’m looking for the one where when goku transported cell when he blew up.. the track when he was looking back and talking to everyone. I can’t remember the name

Why didn't the english version use the jp themes? Don't get me wrong, these are great too!! I am just a little curious as to why they decided to put in this extra bit of effort.

It’s only the funimation dub. I think they just wanted to do their own thing. The other English dubs used the original soundtrack.
Power rangers effect, the music was really driving an emotional response over here, the music really tried to be apart and it was excellent when done right and goofy in other moments
Super music was good to like god destruction theme,future saga and mastered ultra instinct but my fav is gohan fury and probably vegeta ss i gotta re listen
I remember hearing mysterious person and super buus theme for the first time on the show. Both songs sent chills down my spine 😄

The Faulconer productions tracks are so amazing and memorable. I grew up on and prefer DBZ Kai so there is not much nostalgia for these tracks.
There is a guy who made downloadable edits for DBZ Kai dialogue audio with Faulconer music. It’s on one of the DBZ forums.
It’s the more accurate Kai voice dialogue but with Faulconer. IMO the best way to watch now

The only track that I can't remember hearing is Gohan's Anger. Most of the rest are fire.

My question is how do you find this version of DBZ though all the ones I found are dubbed but with the Japanese soundtracks 🤔
I personally grew up watching Kai and the Funimation dub later as my brother claimed it was superior. I think Falconer works for the old Funimation dub, it just fits that vibe it had, crude, yet charming. I love the Japanese soundtrack too and think it has superior battle themes but Falconer productions did amazing with specific character themes. I honestly wish people would stop arguing as it is usually nostalgia based and people haven’t seen both versions to make valid comparisons.
Anyway, these are all pretty expected choices, but valid nonetheless.
I agree. I have seen both. And l really like them both. For me I grew up with the funimation version so I enjoy watching that. But the Japanese is awesome as well. Both of them have their good and bad. For example I personally prefer watching the scene when Goku goes ssj for the first time in the funimation dub. With the music and all it feels more powerful to me.
kai is the worst adaptation i have ever seen to the DB series... cut everything out and remover voice actors.... so whats the point? is this supposed to appeal to the generation of no attention span gen X/Z? Seriously watch DBZ and then tell me Kai is in any way better

Music is a huge part of Dragon Ball Z in the US... there is very little in the original. And zero done by Bruce Faulconer.

He sued funimation and never worked with them again.
Nothing tops goku first ever super saiyan transformation and the score is the best one

THIS is how dbz should sound and a large part of why super is so lame ans childlike. Same with the Japanese sub. It's so pathetic, kiddie, and goofy in comparison to the AMAZING faulconer version

Oh, thats where all these trash soundtracks came from. Never realized they were just made for the 'murican dub. While I can agree that the 3rd doesn't sound too bad, all of them are jokes compared to their japanese originals.
