    I have been changing my own oil and filter (as well as brakes, exhaust, heat shields, radiators, plugs, water pumps, brake lines, brake and transmission fluid flushes, timing chain or belts and more) on every car I have ever owned since the age of 17 when I actually got my first car in my own name. I am 64 now. Never, ever take your vehicle to any of these hack oil change shops. Do it yourself. You learn something, save some money, feel better about yourself and you can sleep better knowing it was done correctly.

    Some of those quick change places have a metal dispenser that looks like a fuel nozzle that has a gauge on top. They set the dial to however many quarts and then just pull the trigger to fill the engine.. The tip is metal and they likely just jammed that into the opening.

    It might be caused by the pneumatic oil dispenser, the nozzle is thin and metal, the body of the dispenser is heavy. Nozzle probably got stuck inside and "tech" pulled it out causing the bend.

    • @LAactor
      @LAactor Месяц назад

      I saw this before in many types of dispensers. The common one is like a gas station air hose on a reel, pumping from the drum and the end has a gauge to tell how many quarts dispensed

    Horrible - that someone would push something into the oil filler hole to try to get the oil to flow faster ! Should not be done to a Pontiac Vibe - basically family to a Toyota Corolla ! Based on your recommendation, I also bought the funnel. It fits my 2000 Camry; but the design on my 2005 Sienna is different. To be honest, I always wonder what that metal restriction is inside the filler; I did not know it is just a thin piece of metal. It would have been very easy for me to bend the metal without knowing - even though I am a careful DIYer owner. So, I would not be too hard on the oil change place that made the mistake.

    Strange most oil change places use a pump with standard cheapo oil which there is dial on it that you can set for how many litres or quarts you set that and then just squeeze the trigger its stops and the amount set but the wand on the end of those pumps are metal, so I have a feeling that the person just rammed the metal wand into the oil filler and set the pump pumped in the oil and was done. Myself if I was a customer and I started the engine I would have notice right away the noise and before i would have left not even drove my car and spoken with the manager about it but that said I never go to such places . I have seen sometimes these people working ther put the wrong oil filters on cars sure it screws on, but they top out and oil leaks or they over tighten the filter and it leaks or the next person has issues taking it off during the next oil change
