This is unironically one of the most well-produced and well-done series I've ever heard.
Edit: 25 minutes in to this episode and it's so obvious Ben is bullshitting to manipulate things in his favor. I feel like nothing of value was gleaned from interviewing him and kind of disappointed that they did.

Yep he was clearly just getting narcissistic supply off of having someone to talk to and blab.

Hearing his voice and hearing him talk like a normal person makes my skin crawl after knowing what he’s done to so many children and that 4 year old child. I hate that he has a platform like this to even talk so openly about himself but I also need to know why he would commit those atrocities. Hearing him disgusts me but I have to know and that makes me cry so much.

I wonder about that poor 4 year old if she is ok now. I would love to hear a follow up on the victims on how they are coping.

They should be left alone to heal. But I understand the curiosity.

Ben's mother is an extreme red flag into his entitlement and lack of self awareness. Every snippet that has been mentioned of her is obvious if you read between the line. "Ben likes kids"?? THAT'S how you want to spin what he did? I want to know more about the parents and what role they played in setting the groundwork for this mentality.
Also, has ANYONE asked whether he was ever sexually abused himself?!

"I was so in love with her" more like he was so in love with hurting her... at some point they chose to keep going to feed their addiction and that addiction is hurting those we love most and getting away with it... That's what gets them "OFF" hurting who we love and the world we create for them... (I think judges better come up with a good reason why we let them out because I don't play fair, I do what I have to do.)

Seriously.. if he "loved" her he wouldn't be ok with damaging her and letting his friend damage her and then putting that abuse online for others to damage her for the rest of her life. Not to mention the Father, who was probably abusing and allowing others to abuse her. Discusting.

All they care about is their sexual satisfaction. Everything is about them getting off. Its so disgusting. They try to rationalize it by talking about "emotions". Disgusting creatures.

I think you all, including the Norwegian journalist who also interviewed him for his article, went way too far with interviewing Faulkner, and I had to turn off at this point. How do you think his victims will feel, knowing that their abuser was given a voice to excuse/ downplay their crimes and throw a pity-party for themselves? You're just feeding his ego by trying to understand him. He clearly feels zero shame or remorse and probably loves having someone to talk to about his feelings.
It should be left to criminologists and prison psychologists and others who are qualified, to interview and try and understand these perpetrators. It just comes across as sensationalist for journalists to do the interviews to 'try and understand them', and also insensitive to the victims. After all, VG is a tabloid and the journalists want to make money.
The main focus should be on preventing victims. Focus on eliminating poverty and child homelessness in countries like the Philippines, and other countries where children are vulnerable. Focus on educating parents about spotting signs. Focus on charities that help victims of this type of abuse.

@@thewkovacs316 come back when you can make an argument that isn’t the most textbook strawman in the world. No one said “journalists should never interview criminals”. Stop making up things to argue against, it makes you look stupid.
