Actually the vibrato there is quite easy. That being said, this guy is a supremely skilled guitarist. I've been playing this solo for 25 years and I can only play it about 75% as awesome as he does.
Keylooh it sounds amazing, I've sometimes wondered if the video is actually of this recording, but the sound is epic. The playing, the sound quality, the quality of the improv, it's a perfect cover version & recording.

I think this is every guitarists dream to play this solo with a good band behind them in front of thousands of people. The adrenaline, the lights, the feeling. Its probably better than any drug.

Im Devy Everything matters... Studios always helps when something goes wrong. Page is not an excellent guitar performer, his style is based on being "sloppy". Anyway... as a music writer, Page is mind blowing.
The only thing he was sloppy on live was the stairway solo. And a few times he actually played it great like from TSRTS. He was not sloppy live other than that.
The solo is a great example of how to get the 4th interval more involved in your soloing. In the key of C it is the F note and it can be a pain to get that thing in there without sounding sour but this is a great case study on how to use it. I love this solo.
part 0:24-0:33 is the part no one does right on youtube. Sure they play it right but compared to the studio version ppl on youtube never catch the soul of that part
That pretty much goes for the whole song. It's hard to mimic feel with different equipment, and different playing styles. Props to this guy for an incredible improvisation though.

I'm still not as good as this guy, but then again he has the les paul & marshall lol hes gonna sound better regardless haha and as for the hammer-on, i believe it reduces volume in the bend, so it doesn't stand out too high compared to the rest, which is why i do the same thing. it keeps the note "thin"

This dude is on another level, I know cuz I play guitar myself
Its possible you're not bending hard enough. Of course if you bend too hard your strings will break, but trust me, it will happen to you eventually, and thats the only way to find out how much you can really bend on those particular strings. I use .09s for my high e, and thats the only string I've broken by bending. You should be able to bend up 3 frets or so without breaking a .09 string.
Jesus Christ... I've been playing this wrong for 30 godamn years. I used to jump up to the 12th fret where you slide up on the 7th. Soooo much smoother. And for some ungodly reason, I would twist up my fingers at the 12-15 range instead of up to the 17/19. But I literally learned it listening to an old record and constantly spinning it backwards. The whole thing is very smooth. Kudos...

@@reflect916 you can learn this solo but it still doesn't mean you're gonna play it with this good technique. In 4 months you just can't, so I am not referring to the complexity of the solo itself, but the flawess playing, the technique, a mix of feeling and near perfect execution

I think he's probably using 8-38 or 8-42.
Its possible you're not bending hard enough. Of course if you bend too hard your strings will break, but trust me, it will happen to you eventually, and thats the only way to find out how much you can really bend on those particular strings. I use .09s for my high e, and thats the only string I've broken by bending. You should be able to bend up 3 frets or so without breaking a .09 string.

Jesus Christ... I've been playing this wrong for 30 godamn years.
I used to jump up to the 12th fret where you slide up on the 7th. Soooo much smoother. And for some ungodly reason, I would twist up my fingers at the 12-15 range instead of up to the 17/19. But I literally learned it listening to an old record and constantly spinning it backwards. The whole thing is very smooth. Kudos...
