I bought the M4 Tank but had to return it as it was way too big and heavy for my homegym. Glad Torque listened to the feedback. Now I just have to find a way to explain away $800 to the SO 😅
The echo bike is a better option. Like a large part of the country I live in a place where outdoor items are useless for half the year. So if you live somewhere it doesn't snow or get really cold go for it.
@@mickiesworkshop3490 I'm not comparing them. But stating if you can't use it half of the year because it can't tolerate snow like a a good part of the country gets it's not the best option.
@@MsBigboodyjudy and if you can't use it for 5-6 months out of the year because of weather it's pointless. You go push that through a foot of snow and see how well it works. A bike is good for all year round which is why I have that instead.
Nice production quality at the opening. Thank you for taking the time to make a video Coop. Still a little pricey for me but if one were to come up on the used market I'd be all over it.
Just purchased an M1. Great machine. One critique: tire slippage when pulling. Expect that you're going to need to load a lot of weight to get traction if you're planning to use the sled in this mode. On the push side it's fine because the push drives the load onto the front tire.
Thanks. A steep price; however, once I add up the cost of weight plates, the final cost of the other sleds aren’t cheap either. With COVID the resale value of 45 lbs plates is high.
Thanks Coop, love your channel. I bought a sled that is a tripod type, then put wheels on each foot of the sled. Load it with 500 lbs and push it up hill, great work out!
These seem like they are effectively the result of taking apart a bicycle mag trainer and slapping it in a frame. Smart idea, the cost to me is the crazy part. For the same price you get a direct drive trainer that has power meters and electronics to adjust the wattage on the fly. Probably an economy of scale thing, way more trainers being made than sleds.
I would’ve liked to hear how the different resistance levels feels. Maybe a test timing how fast it takes in each gear to travel 30 meters or something like that. Something along the lines as this feels like x pounds on the rogue on a particular surface. I know there are a lot of variances involved but anything would’ve helped a lot more
Have the XPO trainer and I have to say its not refined but man its progressive resistance is fantastic. Fewer levers to break and just plain simple. Quiet and I agree the pull option would be nice but the handles come off and very low profile to store on the garage wall.
Own both. XPO through Amazon was $740 shipped. TankM1 was $795 shipped. $55 buck extra for all the extra features. It’s a no brainer. TankM1 all the way. I would only consider the XPO if you came upon it in the second hand market for under $500.
Hey Coop, is the M1 fine to pull with a waist harness, or does the frontwheel skip when the sled is pulled like that? The pulls with waistharness would be the main application for me and I d prefer the smaller M1. Would be nice to get an idea if the M1 is fine for that or if I need one of the big boys. Thank you - love your channel ❤️
I have pulled mine for miles. I think the only ways the wheel would come up would be if the lead (rope or strap) was too short, and/or if you surged into it really hard. And for the latter, you could put a plate or two on it to help keep the wheel down. Great add to the home gym. Recommend for that use for all the reasons Coop sets out.
Coop I think you monitor my wishlist - this was exactly what I needed thanks so much! Was just about to pull the trigger on an XPO trainer - getting the TankMT. Great review!
Little tip from me if you don’t have none of that you can use a car, fourwheeler, golf cart, or even a heavy plate on something that will slide on slick floor and push it
How is it in the rain? I live in a rainforest and we get precipitation 300+ days a year. It’s normally just light rain but it is still wet outside most of the time.
I was just about to pull the trigger on the dog sled 1.2. I am glad I waited! If you buy the plastic for the dog sled, can you push the sled on dry grass? I have a park nearby my house that I would push/pull/drag. I know it's annoying to load up a sled into my suv and take it down there but it does save some money. Plus, it's a warmup for my workout :) Thank again Coop! You're the man!
Hey Coop, would you say the resistance is comparable between the Tank and the new M1? Ive had the Tank in my gym for a couple of years now and use it all the time with clients. Appreciate the review!!
Can you grind with the Tank M1 like you can with a dog sled or prowler? What I’m referring to is when the plate loaded sled is loaded to the max and there is no “sprinting” going on but instead you are just slowly grinding and pushing it with everything you’ve got. Is this possible with the Tank?
Great review! Instant follower for this home gym rat! Too bad I don’t have the budget for the quiet sled, so I’ll have to go the standard sled route and add some turf to the shopping list.
Bought one and got to use it for two weeks before getting a flat on the front tire. The experience of changing the tire is VERY frustrating. I will be selling this M1 and purchasing a regular sled. I will absolutely not deal with changing the tire again. I was also not very impressed with the resistance. At the highest level it is not enough to force you to go slow and get a good strain (or grind as some others have asked) unless you intentionally pull hard and fast.
@@dewafelbakkers Correct, but it’s not the same as “grinding” against a heavily weighted traditional sled. Which is more along the lines of what I’m looking for and I assume what others who asked the question are looking for. It would be like comparing box squats with heavy band tension and lighter traditional weight vs performing max effort box squats with weight only. I would prefer to have some settings on the Tank that are much higher starting resistance. Also, my main point is that it could definitely be engineered to make changing the tire/inner tube a less painful process. If that was corrected I would still use the tank for warm ups and light work. For the cost of the product it should be engineered better.
How do I incorporate a sled into my trainning? I am a very fit 50 year old who does fully body workouts (lifting) m,w and f. On t and th I do 20 min of hitt. Battle rope, kettle bell, rogue airdyne bike, and much more stuff. I have two buldging disk in lower back and a bad knee. Knee is fine as long as I don't do too much plyometrics. Given the cost, it's a bit out of my price range but looks awesome. What are your thoughts on Rogue Dog Sled on grass both pushing and pulling? And side question, pick one for home gym. Sled or GHD. Thanks always Coop!
I asked torque and they said pulling with a rope was ok but not a waist or chest harness, it would pick up the end. Have you tried it with one? I’d love to trade my M2 for one.
Another great review. How well does it store/break down? Looks to have a bigger footprint then the Armor one or do the main handles fold down or come off? I like that it has fixed resistance, but do you find the 3-4 levels enough? Or can adding plates add resistance between the set levels? Is level 1 with a 25 pound plate easier to push then level 1 with a 45 pound plate?
@@TorqueFitness Saw that on the site. Looks easy to store especially with the wall mount. I struggle with the sleds that get harder when you push harder. Sometimes for conditioning I want to keep the speed up, but if you push harder you are forced to slow down. I'm guessing contant resistance isn't possible with the magnetic? I wish there was a wheeled sled that allowed constant resistance that could be incremented. I was hoping the various levels on the tank would allow that. STill looks like a great product.
Can you pull a Tank M1? Not in the sense of putting a rope on it and pull it by going forward, but in the sense of holding on to it normally (by it's handles) and walk backward to strengthen your knees.
